Message from our Chairman By the end of 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network completed five years in its journey to include persons with disabilities as effective and productive members in the labor market. The network continued to pursue its vision through its three objectives: Raise awareness on mutual business benefits of including persons with disabilities in the workforce, Advice, train and share best practice on how to become a sustainable disability inclusive employer through an appropriate work environment and organization culture and advocate of person with disabilities' right to work and their inclusion with all relevant stakeholders, including government and non- government organization. Since Qaderoon’s establishment in 2014, we conducted more than 86 workshops with the attendance of more than 1533 company leads, offered 1956 consultancy hours, organized and participated in almost 66 events, and produced 17 awareness campaigns and 54 newsletters. This was possible with the blessings of God and the dedication and diligence of our illustrious teams. During 2018, we focused on expanding the network services to include non- members, increasing training programs and consultancy services to raise awareness on the benefits of including entrepreneurs, employees or customers with disabilities. We also worked hard at changing the mindset of the business community and stereotypes towards the importance and benefits of including persons with disabilities. In 2019, we aim to increase the number and engagement of cooperating members from both the related sectors and disability organizations, aiming to collaborate on our shared vision and goals of enabling persons with disabilities. Qaderoon Achievements 2018JanuaryPanda Retail Company Wins Mowaamah Golden CertificatePanda Retail Company has won Mowaamah Golden Certification for its longstanding commitment to the employment of persons with disabilities. Mowaamah Certification is a program with a set of requirements by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development for organizations and businesses whose work environments are inclusive and supportive to the persons with disabilities.

Since 1998, Panda has made a significant progress in advancing inclusion in its functions. A total of 313 employees with disabilities work in the Company up to date. One employee has been on the job for 20 years, another 18 years, and three other employees have been in Panda for around fifteen years each; demonstrating therefore Panda efforts for providing an appropriate and supportive work environment for them.

In addition to the acquisition of Mowaamah Gold Certificate, Panda has been recently recognized as one of the 2017 Best Companies in Disability Inclusion. The award is a joint initiative of the United Nations and the Government of Sao Paulo in Brazil. It offers the international businesses an opportunity to receive a rank on their disability inclusion policies and practices. Panda was proudly rated the second international company.

Panda Retail Company will continue to hire people with disabilities not only for giving them job skills but also to give them a sense of independence, self-confidence, and ultimately a chance to succeed in the workplace and in their personal lives.

MoU between Qaderoon and Roya Association of Al-Madina Al-MunawwaraOn Monday January 29, 2018, Qaderoon Network signed a memorandum of understanding with the Blind Charity Association (Roya) of Al-Madina Al-Munawwara Region, to generate more opportunities for cooperation between the two parties, and to benefit from the exchange of knowledge and experience in the field of including persons with visual disability in the labor market. The MoU was signed by Qaderoon’s Executive Manager, Mr. Khalid Sindi, and Roya’s Deputy Chairman and Executive Director, Mr. Yaser Rajih.

Mr. Yaser Rajih commented that the MoU comes in line with the objectives of the association and its development programs. “Roya” is looking forward to cooperating with “Qaderoon” to enable persons with visual disabilities through adopting joint initiatives with businesses and other stakeholders.

FebruarySaudia Airlines Catering learn about “Inclusive Customer Service” for Persons with DisabilitiesIn collaboration with Qaderoon Network, Saudia Airlines Catering held a series of workshops in February 2018 on inclusive customer service for persons with disabilities at its offices in Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam. The workshop was designed for customer service and reception center leads who are responsible to ensure inclusive communication by their customer service delegates. The workshop helped attendees identify, evaluate, and understand how to remove barriers that could be

faced by their customers with disabilities when requesting a service, or submitting a complaint. The workshop was delivered by Saudi Rehab Group.

Qaderoon and Riyadh Chamber Discuss Inclusion Plan for Persons with Disabilities Following the memorandum of understanding signed between Qaderoon Network and Riyadh Chamber at the end of 2017, a meeting was held between the two parties on February 8th to discuss their joint work plan that aims to benefit from the exchange of knowledge and experience in including persons with disabilities within the business community. The proposed plan included lectures and workshops for both businesses and job seekers with disabilities, in addition to organizing employment events for them.

MarchSavola’s “Makeen” Participates in the 2nd Conference of Al Amal for Disability Makeen program, one of Savola World's Sustainability Programs, participated in the 2nd Conference of Al Amal for Disability. The event was organized by Al Amal for Development and Social Care on 16 and 17 March 2018 in Istanbul, Turkey and was attended by more than 500 participants representing 20 countries.

Makeen presented a workshop titled "Best Practices for Inclusion of Persons with Disabilities at Savola Group". This included the group's vision for the inclusion of persons with disabilities, an overview of the Makeen program that aims to empower persons with disabilities through training and employment, in addition to presenting the achievements of the program in creating and developing inclusive work environment that cover cultural, physical and virtual elements of inclusion.

The total accessibility project was also explained along with the mechanism of its implementation that took place at Savola Group, which resulted in certifying three companies by the Global Alliance on Accessible Technologies and Environments (GAATES) as accessible premises.

This supportive work environment at Savola is a result of the commitment and support of the top management, along with spreading awareness and knowledge of positive interaction skills with persons with disabilities in the workplace, and through the development of effective recruitment programs such as training ending with employment. Another important factor in the supportive work environment is the development of human resources policies and procedures that respond to the needs of persons with disabilities, as well as providing necessary accommodations and solving problems that may face them.

Qaderoon Network Held Its First Board Meeting for 2018 Qaderoon Network held its first Board Meeting for 2018 on Monday, 12 March 2018 at the Network's head office in Jeddah. 2017 achievements and financial results were shared during the meeting, followed by a discussion of the 2018 work plan and annual budget. Recommendations of the board members were concluded with an appreciation of their active contribution to the meeting’s discussions. The Board for Qaderoon includes members from Almarai, Olayan, Zamil Industrial, Savola, Zahid and Tamer groups.

Qaderoon Network presents an awareness lecture at Dar Al-Hekma University On Wednesday March 14, 2018, Kholoud Al Haddad, Disability Consultant at Qaderoon Network, presented an awareness lecture to the students of the Department of Special Education at the University of Dar Al-Hekma studying " Transition and Vocational Skills for Adolescents and Adults with Special Needs” course. This course focus on the conceptual and historical framework for the transition of students with disabilities from post-school to employment and training, while highlighting current and best support systems for adolescents and adults around the world including local experiences in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf region. The lecture discussed several disability related concepts and best models for supportive work environments for persons with disabilities.

Qaderoon Network Participate in “Special Needs Job Fair” at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Foundation On Wednesday March 21 2018, “Qaderoon” participated in the “Special Needs Job Fair” held at Prince Mohammad Bin Fahd Foundation for Humanitarian Development in Dammam, and out of the Network’s belief in the importance of connecting job seekers with disabilities and employers. The job fair witnessed participation of several major companies in the Kingdom that offers opportunities for both genders of all ages and different qualifications.

Qassim Province Governor Honours MoU between Qaderoon and Onaizah Association In March 2018, Qaderoon Network signed a memorandum of understanding with Onaizah Association for Development and Human Services on the sidelines of the Third International Conference of Disability and Rehabilitation Experts held in Onaizah. The MoU encourages collaboration between the two entities and sharing experiences that enable and employ persons with disabilities, and in alignment with businesses and employers. The MoU was exchanged in the presence of HRH Prince Faisal bin Mishal bin Saud Al Saud, Governor of Qassim Province, during the conference’s opening ceremony.

Qaderoon Network Organize “Universal Design in Urban Environment” Meetings During March 2018, Qaderoon Network organized a series of “Universal Design in the Urban Environment" meetings in collaboration with Al Modon Engineering Consulting Office, and hosted by Riyadh, Jeddah and Dammam Chambers of Commerce, in addition to a meeting in Madinah in collaboration with the Blind Charity Association (Roya) and Namaa Al-Munawara. The meetings witnessed attendance of representatives from the business community and other concerned parties.

The meetings included a comprehensive presentation by Eng. Mukhtar Al-Shibani, founder of Al Modon Engineering Consulting Office, about Universal Design concepts and the importance of its implementation in various premises for all segments of society and specifically persons with disabilities. He also shared the process of adopting universal design throughout the different phases of developing premises from design to construction, as well as existing buildings.

The Universal Design meetings were conducted to support Qaderoon’s vision, which is aligned with Saudi 2030 vision, in enabling persons with disabilities, and activating the role of businesses and others in removing all barriers to their inclusion in society.

Qaderoon participate in “Start the Impossible” workshopOn 26 March 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network participated in a workshop entitled "Start the Impossible" at Abdul Latif Jameel Rehabilitation Hospital in Jeddah.

The workshop included a series of presentations on services offered by cooperating entities for persons with disabilities, and included an announcement of newly employed persons at participating companies who allocated 60 vacancies to qualified persons with disabilities.

Qaderoon participated by introducing the idea of supportive work environments for persons with disabilities, along with services provided to the business sector to develop their work environments, in addition to collecting data of visiting job seekers with disabilities.

Qaderoon Signs MoU with GAATES On 29 March 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network signed a memorandum of understanding with The Global Alliance on Accessible Technologies and Environments (GAATES), to share global know-how and experiences in the inclusion of persons with disabilities. The MoU was signed by Qaderoon’s Executive Manager Khalid Sindi, and GAATES President, Dr. Victor Pineda.

Khalid Sindi commented that the MoU was in accordance with the objectives of the network in sharing best practices and experiences in information and communication technology as well as premises’ accessibility. The two sides look forward to developing initiatives and programs that contribute to spreading knowledge in these fields.

AprilQaderoon at the 5th International Conference for Disability & Rehabilitation Qaderoon Business Disability Network’s consultant, Ms. Kholoud AlHaddad, participated on 02 April 2018 in the 5th International Conference on Disability and Rehabilitation in Riyadh with a paper entitled "The barriers affecting the employment of persons with disabilities in Saudi Arabia". The paper was presented during a panel discussion on the employment of persons with disabilities that included local and international speakers.

Kholoud AlHaddad commented on the importance of highlighting the barriers in the work environment and to look at the other side of the equation, rather than focusing only on the employee’s disability. This is in addition to the low employment rates of persons with disabilities compared to persons without disabilities.

It’s worth mentioning that the paper included a research on 100 individuals of different types of disabilities and different levels of education throughout the Kingdom.

Almarai hosts “Interaction Skills with Persons with Disabilities at Work” WorkshopQaderoon Business Disability Network organized for Almarai Company a workshop titled “Interaction Skills with Persons with Disabilities at Work” on 18 April 2018 in AlKharj. The workshop, which was presented by Trainer Khaled Alhajri, targeted company employees from various departments.

The workshop focused on the general principles that should be considered when interacting with persons with disabilities, as well as explaining different guidelines of positive interaction according to the disability type; visual, hearing and mobility. The workshops witnessed significant interaction among the audience and many discussions took place where different examples were used to explain the key concepts.

Qaderoon Members train on Emergency Evacuation for Persons with Disabilities During 15&16 April 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network held a workshop on emergency evacuation for persons with disabilities in collaboration with the Universal Accessibility Program at King Saud University and hosted at Savola Group’s head office in Jeddah. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani and Dr. Ahmed Al-Hefnawy of King Saud University.

The workshop, which was designed for Qaderoon members’ safety leads, aimed to help trainees plan and execute different evacuation plans, as well as safety measures for various disabilities. The workshop included different exercises such as the proper use of evacuation chairs. The workshop witnessed good interaction between the trainees regarding assistive devices and related safety procedures.

Qaderoon Members Attend Barrier Free Recruitment TrainingAt the end of April 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network organized a workshop titled “Barrier Free Recruitment” hosted by Savola Group in Jeddah. The workshop was designed for recruitment and HR specialists from Qaderoon member companies, who are responsible for ensuring fair recruitment by selecting jobseekers capable to work regardless of their disabilities. The workshop was conducted by Mr. Brendan Roach and Mr. Daniel Wiles of the Business Disability Forum (BDF), UK.

The interactive session helped attendees identify, assess and remove the common barriers that candidates with disability might face when applying for a job, as well as ensuring a smooth transition from interview and job offer to actual employment.

Riyadh Chamber Hosts Almarai on its Best Practices in Including Persons with Disabilities Riyadh Chamber, in collaboration with Qaderoon Business Disability Network, hosted a meeting about Almarai Company’s experience in the inclusion of persons with disabilities on 26 April 2018, and in the presence of representatives from the business community, companies and recruitment entities.

The meeting highlighted the best practices implemented by Almarai Company to develop a supportive work environment for persons with disabilities, including its employees attitudes towards their coworkers with disabilities, recruitment procedures, human resources policies and premises’ accessibility.

Almarai is one of the first companies to win the golden tier in “Mowaamah” certification, which was launched last year by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to qualify entities as supportive work environments for persons with disabilities.

“Qaderoon” Introduce Their Members to Disability Inclusive Products & Services On Wednesday May 2nd 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network held a workshop on Inclusive Products & Services for persons with disabilities, hosted at Savola Group’s headquarters in Jeddah. The workshop was facilitated by Brendan Roach and Daniel Wiles from the Business and Disability Forum (BDF), UK.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness on how to design inclusive products and services that meet the needs of persons with different types of disabilities, as well as developing an inclusive customer service process for customers with disabilities. The workshop shared case studies and examples of organizations adopting inclusive processes in this field. During the workshop the trainees discussed the business case of developing inclusive products and services for persons with disabilities, and how businesses can gain the loyalty of a significant segment of customers estimated globally at 15% of society.

Qaderoon” Members Join Forces to Raise Awareness on World MS Day Qaderoon Business Disability Network along with its members Almarai Company, Savola Group, Nesma Holding, Saudi Airlines Catering and Swaed organization launched a campaign on social media to raise awareness about persons with multiple sclerosis, in alignment with the International Day of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) on 30 May 2018. The campaign, developed in collaboration with the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) Tawafuq Team, aimed to renew the commitment of network members towards persons with disabilities’ inclusion and share several examples of accommodations that businesses can offer to its employees with MS. JuneTamer Group Ensures the Inclusion of its Employees with Hearing Disabilities During its Ramadan Iftars Expressing its commitment towards disability inclusion within its work environment and culture, Tamer Group ensured the provision of sign language interpreters during its Ramadan Iftars in Jeddah, Riyadh, and Dammam. These Iftar gatherings were attended by Tamer employees from different cities around the Kingdom and included the attendance of employees with hearing disabilities. This important gesture highlights the significance of the role of employers in providing an inclusive environment for all its employees by providing various means of communication, alongside and any other accommodations required.

“Qaderoon” Members Express their Support for Persons with Sickle Cell Anemia Qaderoon Network, along with its members Tamer Group and Saudi Airlines Catering, supported persons with Sickle Cell Anemia on social media, in alignment with the International Day for Sickle Cell Anemia on June 19th, 2018. The post - developed as an infographic - aimed at sharing general information and examples of accommodation services that employers can provide to support employees with Sickle Cell Anemia. The post witnessed positive interaction through the hashtag #WorldSickleCellDay.

JulyAsharqia Chamber Hosts Almarai on its Best Practices in Including Persons with Disabilities Asharqia Chamber, in collaboration with Qaderoon Business Disability Network, hosted a meeting about Almarai Company’s experience in the inclusion of persons with disabilities on 19 July 2018, and in the presence of representatives from the business community and companies.

Where Mr. Ali AL-Qahtani Nationalization Manager reviewed best practices implemented by Almarai Company to develop a supportive work environment for persons with disabilities, including its employee's attitudes towards their coworkers with disabilities, recruitment procedures, human resources policies and premises’ accessibility.

Almarai is the first company win the golden tier in “Mowaamah” certification, which was launched last year by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development to qualify entities as supportive work environments for persons with disabilities.

“Savola” Group employees learn about “Inclusive Communication” Qaderoon organized a workshop on Disability Inclusive Communication in the Workplace at Savola Group Head office in Jeddah on Wednesday 11 July 2018. This workshop was designed for those responsible for internal and external communication at Savola Group, who need to ensure successful communication with their employees and customers with disabilities. The workshop covered accessibility in company websites, advertising campaigns, visual design, and events. Ms. Aya Jibreal-Senior Inclusive Design Consultant at Qaderoon facilitated the workshop.

The workshop helped attendees identify, evaluate, and remove barriers that can be faced by their company employees or customers with disabilities when communicating with them or while using their company websites. Attendees were encouraged to use clear color contrasts in the design or deployment of any of their ads and leaflets, both electronically or printed. Checklists were provided to make sure that all the elements of universal access are available at companies’ events. The workshop concluded with emphasizing the role of the trainees in the application of these important standards, to ensure inclusive communication with all employees and customers with disabilities.

“Qaderoon” Network contributes to the launch of “Guide for business on the rights of persons with disabilities” Globally Qaderoon Network issued the Arabic version of the Employers “Rights for Persons with Disabilities Guide”, which was developed jointly by the UN Global Compact and the ILO, the "Guide for business on the rights of persons with disabilities - How business can respect and support the rights of persons with disabilities and benefit from inclusion" suggests concrete actions and measures companies can take to implement good practices that are inclusive of persons with disabilities in the workplace, marketplace and in the community - in alignment with relevant UN conventions and frameworks.

Qaderoon Network launched its new services to its members and non-member organizations as part of its efforts to encourage businesses to include persons with disabilities on a wider scale in the business market. Additionally, this provides the best services and enrich the journey of businesses in the development of persons with disabilities inclusion in its work environments. Consulting services have been developed to cover multiple areas of employment, human resource management, communication and accessibility in premises. The list of consultancy services includes: Job seekers with disabilities employment consultation, “Mowaamah” certification consultation, Accessible visual design and communication consultation, organizing accessible events and evaluating accessibility in facilities.

Moreover, Qaderoon Network provides a series of workshops for all businesses aiming to develop their work environments. These workshops cover several topics such as: Interacting with persons with disabilities, barrier-free employment, Concepts of disability-inclusive work environment “Mowaamah”, Mentor and buddy system, Inclusive products and services, and inclusive communication in the work environment.

To encourage businesses to join as members, Qaderoon Network developed its membership to include gold and silver tiers. Each membership tailored by a range of services developed based on an assessment of the current inclusion status at the member company and its plan of action for development. Membership packages include several advisory services, media, and workshops.

September“Qaderoon” Network Participates in the World Physiotherapy Day Qaderoon Business Disability Network participated on 11 September in the World Physiotherapy Day, held at The King Abdullah Bin Abdul Aziz Center for Disabled Children in Jeddah from September 11 to 12. The World Physiotherapy Day aims to raise awareness of physiotherapy and its role in building an active and healthy society.

The celebration witnessed the participation of several governmental and private entities, which contributed to the exchange of experience concerning the inclusion of persons with disabilities in society. The participation of the “Qaderoon” Network during the celebration was to provide advice and know-how and to provide employment opportunities in the labor market for job seekers with disabilities.

“Qaderoon” Network conducts “Persons with disabilities Supportive Work Environment” workshop in cooperation with “Swaed” Association On Wednesday, September 18, 2018, “Qaderoon” Network, in cooperation with “Swaed” Association for physical disability, organized a workshop on persons with disabilities supportive work environment at Holiday Inn Corniche Hotel in Al Khobar.

The workshop aimed at introducing trainees to the basic concepts of disability and its accommodations, while identifying elements of disability supportive work environments and the impact of disability on different aspects of the businesses including eight main areas: commitment, know-how, recruitment, human resource management, products, & services, communication, premises and ICT.

The workshop concluded by highlighting the role of companies in implementing these essential elements and develop processes and procedures that enable employees with disabilities to work and ensure his/her sustainability in the company's business system.

OctoberQaderoon Network signs a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Persons with Disabilities in Al-Ahsa In the presence of the Executive Director of the persons with disabilities association in Al-Ahsa, Mr. Abdul Latif Al-Ja'fari and the Executive Director in charge of Qaderoon, Mr. Turki Al-Halabi, they both signed a memorandum of understanding on Thursday, 4 October 2018, to cooperate in the field of training and employment of persons with disabilities and to raise awareness about the importance of their participation in the labor market.Mr. Turki Al Halabi commented that the memorandum of understanding was in accordance with the objectives of the network to access and share best practices and experience in enabling persons with disabilities in various fields. The two parties look forward to developing initiatives and programs that contribute to the dissemination of knowledge in both training and recruitment areas.

Qaderoon Network participates in the activities of “Wazaef 2018” job fair in cooperation with Zamil Industrial Qaderoon Network participated in the "Wazaef 2018" job fair held at Dhahran International Exhibitions organized by Al-Sharqia Chamber from 23 to 24 Octobe2018. The job fair aims to support the efforts of jobs nationalization and provide opportunities for job seekers from both fresh graduates and people with expertise.The exhibition witnessed the participation of a number of government and private sectors and many job seekers from different specialties.

Qaderoon network participated in the exhibition in cooperation with Zamil Industrial (one of Qaderoon network members). During the fair, Qaderoon provided consultation and job opportunities for job seekers with disabilities.

Nesma Holding ensure the inclusion of its employees with hearing disabilities at the company’s annual women’s forum As part of its commitment to include all its employees with disabilities in the workplace and beyond, Nesma Holding is keen to provide a sign language interpreter to cover its annual women's forum that was held on Wednesday 24th October 2018 in the Eastern Region, It is also planned to be held in Jeddah on November. The Forum aims to emphasize the role and impact of women in both social and work aspects.

This important gesture also points to the importance of employer’s role in providing an inclusive environment through providing various means of communication and any other accommodations they require.

The workshop aimed to clarify the concept of including persons with disabilities effectively in the workplace and learn how to interact with them using the Mentor and Buddy system.The workshop included several steps on ways of communication, a checklist for employers when hiring employees with disabilities, and a general discussion on the benefits of persons with disabilities recruitment.

The workshop aimed at introducing trainees to the basic concepts of disability and the importance of disability inclusion for all of us as part of the community and its relevance to Saudi Vision of 2030 that calls for including persons with disabilities as productive and active individuals. In addition to introducing the concepts that formed the stereotypical thinking about disability and the importance of the work of persons with disabilities and their role in building society. The awareness workshop was attended by a number of stakeholders and owners of small enterprises.

The workshop concluded by clarifying the importance of the role of enterprises in different areas and size in understanding disability, how to include them in their work environments and interact with them in the correct manner in order to activate mechanisms and procedures that enable employees with disabilities to work and sustainability in the company's work system.

NovemberQaderoon Network sign an MoU with Jeddah Municipality Qaderoon Network signed a Memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the Jeddah Municipality on Wednesday, November 7, 2018, in the context of the two parties' keenness to enable social responsibility and contribute to the development of the society.

The agreement, which represented the two sides, includes HE Mr. Saleh Al-Turki, the Mayor of Jeddah, and the Chairman of the Board of Directors Mr. Amr Khashoggi. The MoU includes the development of awareness campaigns, publications and newsletters aimed at spreading awareness and community development in the field of empowering and activating the role of persons with disabilities in society, in addition to providing specialized scientific research and studies.

“Qaderoon” Conducts “Disability Inclusive Products & Services” workshop hosted by Almarai On Tuesday 13 November 2018, Qaderoon Network held a workshop on Inclusive Products & Services for persons with disabilities, hosted at Almarai head office in Riyadh. The workshop was attended by Almarai, Panda Retail and Nesma Holding employees.

The workshop aimed to raise awareness on how to design inclusive products and services that meet the needs of persons with different types of disabilities, as well as developing an inclusive customer service process for customers with disabilities. The workshop shared case studies and examples of organizations adopting inclusive processes in this field. During the workshop the trainees discussed the business case of developing inclusive products and services for persons with disabilities, and how businesses can gain the loyalty of a significant segment of customers estimated globally at 15% of society.

“Qaderoon” conducts “Emergency Evacuation for Persons with Disabilities” workshop hosted by Almarai On Sunday 4 Nov 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network held a workshop on emergency evacuation for persons with disabilities in collaboration with the Universal Accessibility Program at King Saud University and hosted at Almarai head office in Riyadh. The workshop was facilitated by Dr. Mohammed Al-Qahtani and Dr. Ahmed Al-Hefnawy of King Saud University.

The workshop, which was designed for Qaderoon members’ safety leads, aimed to help trainees plan and execute different evacuation plans, as well as safety measures for various disabilities. The workshop included different exercises such as the proper use of evacuation chairs. The workshop witnessed good interaction between the trainees regarding assistive devices and related safety procedures.

“Qaderoon” Conducts “Disability Supportive Work Environment Concepts” workshop hosted by Savola Qaderoon organized a “Disability Supportive Work Environment Concepts" workshop at Savola Group head office in Jeddah on Wednesday 14 November 2018 for "Mowaamah Certification". “Mowaamah” is a voluntary process undertaken by companies who are intent on improving their work environments to become more inclusive for persons with disabilities.

The workshop was attended by the certification team from Savola. The workshop included basic concepts of disability in Saudi Arabia, and the elements of “Mowaamah” program and evaluating the level of inclusion in work environments. The workshop attendees had a positive experience, and suggested ideas that will contribute to Savola Group disability inclusion workplan.

“Qaderoon” conducts “Barrier-Free Recruitment” workshop hosted by Jeddah Chamber On Monday and Tuesday 19-20 November 2018, Qaderoon Business Disability Network organized a workshop titled “Barrier Free Recruitment” hosted by Jeddah Chamber. The workshop was designed for recruitment and HR specialists from different companies, who are responsible for ensuring fair recruitment processes by selecting jobseekers capable to work regardless of their disabilities.

The interactive session helped attendees identify, assess and remove the common barriers that candidates with a disability might face when applying for a job, as well as ensuring a smooth transition from interview and job offer to actual employment.

Qaderoon Network conducts “Inclusive Communication” workshop at Jeddah Chamber In collaboration with Jeddah Chamber Qaderoon conducted a workshop on Disability Inclusive Communication in the Workplace on Thursday 22 November 2018. This workshop was designed for those responsible for internal and external communication in different companies, who need to ensure successful communication with their employees and customers with disabilities. The workshop covered accessibility in company websites, advertising campaigns, visual design, and events.

The workshop helped attendees identify, evaluate, and remove barriers that can be faced by their company employees or customers with disabilities when communicating with them or while using their company websites. Attendees were encouraged to use clear color contrasts in the design or deployment of any of their ads and leaflets, both electronically or printed. Checklists were provided to make sure that all the elements of universal access are available at companies’ events. The workshop concluded with emphasizing the role of the trainees in the application of these important standards, to ensure inclusive communication with all employees and customers with disabilities.

Zamil Industrial hosts “Interaction Skills with Persons with Disabilities at Work” Workshop Qaderoon Business Disability Network organized for Zamil Industrial Company a workshop titled “Interaction Skills with Persons with Disabilities at Work” on 27 November 2018 in Dammam. The workshop, targeted company female employees from various departments.

The workshop focused on the general principles that should be considered when interacting with persons with disabilities, as well as explaining different guidelines of positive interaction according to the disability type; visual, hearing and mobility. The workshops witnessed significant interaction among the audience and many discussions took place where different examples were used to explain the key concepts.

DecemberDr. Solaiman Fakeeh Hospital Becomes a Gold Member of “Qaderoon” Network Dr. Solaiman Fakeeh Hospital and Qaderoon Network signed an agreement on Sunday 18 November 2018 whereby Dr. Solaiman Fakeeh Hospital became a Gold member of Qaderoon Network. The agreement reinforces the hospital’s leading role in the inclusion of persons with disabilities, and specifically as an employer of them. The agreement was signed by Dr. Mazen Fakih, President of the Hospital, on behalf of Dr. Solaiman Fakeeh Hospital, and Mr. Turki Halabi, Acting Executive Manager.

Dr. Soulaiman Fakeeh Hospital chose to become a member of “Qaderoon” due to its specialized expertise in supporting companies in the private sector in developing inclusive work environments for persons with disabilities.

Dr. Mazen Fakih, the President, expressed the hospital commitment in supporting the inclusion of persons with disabilities. He elaborated that the hospital is working through several initiatives to encourage and empower job opportunities for persons with disabilities and to include them into the hospital staff by creating a supportive working environment and accommodations at the hospital and its facilities to become accessible to all.

On this occasion, the Acting Executive Manager of Qaderoon Network, Turki Halabi expressed his gratitude for the network members' participation in the conference, which is the culmination of their efforts since they joined the network and developing disability supportive work environments. "Network members can contribute to the social aspects of society they are aware of their developmental role in the community." Qaderoon network is continually promoting and community awareness through its network members on the inclusion of persons with disabilities as employees and clients in the labor market.

Qaderoon Network provide awareness session at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah and Asharqia Chambers on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities Continuing to promote awareness of the inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labor market, Qaderoon Network, offered a series of awareness sessions regarding disability supportive work environments at King Abdulaziz University, Jeddah and Asharqia Chambers. The awareness session came in alignment with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities and as part of the National Festival of Persons with Disabilities activities.

The session focused on the most critical steps that companies can follow to achieve the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their work environments. The sessions witnessed the presence from KAAU University and chambers company members from all departments aiming to gain more know-how in this field.

Qaderoon Network participate in the activities of the National Festival for Persons with Disabilities, hosted by the Disabled Children’s Association Qaderoon Network participated in the first National Festival for Persons with Disabilities under the supervision of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Disabled Children's Association, in conjunction with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities under the theme “Enablement, Inclusiveness, and Equality.” The festival lasted six days from December 3 to December 8, 2018.

The festival aims to give participants with disabilities the opportunity to show their potential and skills through various recreational and awareness activities that highlight their active roles and preserving their rights in society. Saudi Airlines Catering celebrates with its employees the International Day of Persons with Disabilities In recognition of Saudi Airlines Catering’s commitment to the rights of persons with disabilities and their role in the development of their society and country, Saudi Airlines Catering hosted an awareness lecture on Monday and Tuesday 3-4 December 2018 presented by Qaderoon Network. The awareness session covered the most critical steps that companies can take to achieve the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their workplaces. The ceremony witnessed the attendance of the employees of Saudi Airlines Catering from all departments to increase and share knowledge in this field.

"Qaderoon" presented the status of employment of persons with disabilities in Saudi Arabia and the activities of the network. The paper focused on the importance of raising awareness of the benefits of inclusion of persons with disabilities in the labor market and the concepts of supportive work environments for persons with disabilities.

The workshop at the Fairmont Clock Tower Hotel witnessed the attendance of the ACCOR Group of Human Resources and Training Managers. The intensive workshop included a comprehensive presentation of the basic concepts of disability inclusion as well as the introduction of the concept of "Disability Supportive Work Environments" and evaluating the standards of work environments that support persons with disabilities. Tamer Group celebrates with its employees the International Day of Persons with Disabilities In recognition of Tamer Group’s commitment to the rights of persons with disabilities and their role in the development of their society and country, Tamer Group hosted an awareness lecture on Monday 17 December 2018 presented by Qaderoon Network. The awareness session covered the most critical steps that companies can take to achieve the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their workplaces. The ceremony witnessed the attendance of the employees of Tamer Group from all departments to increase and share knowledge in this field.

On occasion, Head of CSR of Tamer Group – Sarah Alshaibani expressed Tamer Group’s commitment and its efforts to include persons with disabilities within the workforce by creating a supportive work environment. She added that Tamer Group continues to support this case out of its belief of the Group’s social responsibility by supporting and contributing to the relevant initiatives and entities and various educational sectors.

It is worth mentioning that the celebration is a part of the National Festival for Persons with Disabilities, which is one of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development initiatives to fulfil the National Transformation Program goals which stems from the Kingdome 2030 Vision.

The awareness session covered the most critical steps that companies can take to achieve the inclusion of persons with disabilities in their workplaces. The ceremony witnessed the attendance of the employees of Savola Group from all departments to increase and share knowledge in this field.

On occasion, Savola Group Executive Director of Corporate Affairs Tarik Ismail expressed Savola Group’s commitment and its efforts to include persons with disabilities within the workforce by creating a supportive work environment. He stated that the real appreciation of this segment of society was that they would not be treated as a different category and would be included in all environments and ensuring equality in both their rights and duties.

Qaderoon Network participates in the first Jazan Forum for Empowering People with Disabilities Qaderoon network participated in “Jazan Forum for Empowering People with Disabilities” on Monday, December 24, 2018, which aims to highlight the inclusion of persons with disabilities and their role in society. “Qaderoon” presented a paper on the importance of the employment of people with disabilities and the role of society in changing stereotypical thinking towards them.

Moreover, it moderated two sessions on the reality of phantom hiring of persons with disabilities and how to overcome these challenges which were attended by the Human Resources Development Fund (HRDF) and the Department of Special Education of the Ministry of Education and Alhayat National Hospital.
