Message from the NSW GBOTAThe Golden Easter Egg is now well and truly entrenched in the Australian greyhound racing industry as one of its greatest championships. Its three week structure continues to ensure that all runners have the fairest opportunity to progress to the final and only the truest of champions are ultimately successful.
In 2017 this process will be enhanced with implementation of seeding on the Ladbrokes Golden Easter Egg, Association Cup, New Sensation and Ultra Sense series. Seeding will apply to the top 25% in each heat series, based on GRNSW point score, and seeks to spread the inform greyhounds across the qualifying events.
Ladbrokes are welcomed on board as naming partners for their second year. The ongoing support provided by Ladbrokes is unprecedented in the greyhound industry, with their sponsorship stretching to more venues in NSW than any other. This support has ensured that the NSW GBOTA has been able to retain the best possible prizemoney returns to participants.
Away from the track, Ladbrokes remain innovators in the wagering market. Their ongoing promotions across a range of NSW GBOTA feature events continues to ensure that punters receive the best possible returns. We again thank the Ladbrokes team for their support.
In 2017 we have reviewed the range of events and criteria. This review has resulted in modifications to the Ladbrokes Magic Maiden performance trial opportunities. The open session will be conducted at the start of March, with further opportunities to follow on Wednesday race nights, see details on page 7.
Participants are encouraged to review the Trainers Guide thoroughly and understand all of the methods of qualification for each series. Our Operations Manager, Ellen Harris, is available to answer questions and assist where she can. Interstate trainers are also encouraged to ensure their respective GRNSW prizemoney split forms are completed and lodged prior to the series commencing. Again, please speak to our team if you have any questions.
On behalf of the Directors of the NSW GBOTA and supporters of the Carnival, we wish all competitors the very best of luck and safe racing.
