Construction Club 2nd-4th grade, Mondays 3:45-4:45pm, Mr. Bill, Science Lab, $150 Mr. Bill?s Construction Club offers students a fun, creative outlet to build self-confidence and motor skills while creating keepsake models and practical items to use and treasure for years to come! Students learn how to use tools safely, problem-solve, and build projects with their own two hands. In addition to the take-home masterpieces they will create, students will also contribute to a community service project. No class on 4/3, 5/29 Scratch 1st-6th grade, Tuesdays 3:45-4:45pm, Ms. Cera, Computer Lab $132 Have your students explore basic computational thinking through the drag-and-drop platform, Scratch. First through 6th grade students will be introduced to basic programming concepts as they learn specific tools for building games. Using their imaginations, they will create and manipulate sprites as they learn steps to design and build their own games. No class on 4/ 4 Role Playing Games 5th-8th grade, Tuesdays 4:00-5:00pm, Mr. Fleming, Science Lab, $132 Role Playing Games are all about storytelling - you and your friends gather to tell this story together by guiding your heroes through epic battles, searching for treasure in dark dungeons, or pulling off daring rescues. This club will focus on the Dungeons & Dragons system, but we will explore other games if time permits. Turn off the screen, put down the controller, and get ready to use your imaginations. No class on 4/ 4 Sprout with Art EC-1st grade, Wednesdays 3:45-4:30pm, Smart with Art, Kindergarten room, $135 Young artists will be exposed to unique and fun art mediums with lessons created to help develop both gross and fine motor skills that expand their creativity! Smart with Art provides an entertaining, educational artistic experience. Historical art content, design concepts, and a different medium is explored in each of the Sprout with Art lessons in a fun, engaging way. Come join us on a creative journey of exploration. No class on 4/ 5 2017 Spring After School Activities March 13th - June 2nd Soundview offers enriching after school activities (ASAs) to provide students with opportunities to explore new hobbies, participate in individual and team sports, play instruments, and learn valuable skills. All children are welcome! Spring ASAs run from March 13th to June 2nd unless otherwise noted. Registration is first come, first served. The registration deadline is Wednesday, March 8th. Jazz Ensemble5th-8th grade, Wednesdays 4:00-5:00pm, Dr. Castro, PAC, $132

Do you play the saxophone, clarinet, f lute, trumpet, or trombone? If so, join Dr. Castro and the jazz ensemble to learn the fundamentals of jazz. The jazz ensemble will occasionally have opportunities to perform for the community at assemblies and concerts.

Junior Ult imate2nd-5th grade, Thursdays 4:00-5:00pm, Mr. C, MS Field, $120

Ultimate is a self-off iciated, co-ed game which focuses on sportsmanship, fair play, fun, and exercise! The Soundview Junior Ultimate team is a great opportunity to learn the rules of the game and strengthen our skil ls through dril ls, games, and practice matches with our friends. Give it a spin!

3D Modeling3rd-8th grade, Thursdays 4:00-5:15pm, Smart with Art, Computer Lab, $238

Working collaboratively in pairs, students will discover how to build objects in 3D util izing the online platforms TinkerCad and Project Ignite. Smart with Art educators will teach students to work with 3D design elements, learning about creating art in perspective, all while exploring practical applications of 3D technology.

ChessKindergarten-8th grade, Fridays 3:45-4:45pm, Chess Wizards, MPR, $150

Chess Wizards promises to be a fun time for students of all chess levels! The coach dresses up as a wizard and teaches chess moves through comedic sketches for the kids. Chess is a wonderful way to build strong executive function skil ls while learning a classic game of strategy. Students are invited to continue their chess education or start from the very beginning!

Beginning Strings1st-8th grade, Fridays 3:30-4:00pm, Mrs. Higgins, Music Room, $75

The Beginning Strings class provides the opportunity to learn the basic skil ls for playing the violin or the cello. Lessons will focus on the individual needs of each student for learning good sound production, note reading facility, and equipment care. Beginning Strings students have fun making music while learning from an encouraging and patient instructor.

Orchestra2nd-8th grade, Friday 4:15-5:30pm, Mrs. Higgins, PAC, $150/trimester

The Soundview Community Youth Orchestra is the place to build skil ls and create musical art on violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Our rehearsals develop playing technique, teach ensemble music making, and challenge the students with practice in sight reading. Orchestra requires one year of experience with a violin or cello.
