Tiffany Rigby Principal News 30th August 2017 We are very quickly approaching the end of term and with just over 2 weeks to go our students are well into the swing of completing assessment in their classrooms. Our year 5 and 6 students are eagerly preparing for their school camp which occurs in week 10. These students will be flying to Canberra to experience a rich learning opportunity. They will be visiting a number of historical sites and have been learning about the significance of our countries capital city. This camp would occur without the wonderful support of our P&C. This year our P&C is contributing $10,000 towards camp which helps to offset the price for parents. We also would like to thank Ysolde Harders for her donation of a beautifully quilted blanket which is being used as a raffle for our camp, also a thank you to Willow for his donation of $500 to our P&C to assist with the camp costs. Woolworths Earn & Learn 2017
This year we will be participating in the Woolworths Earn & Learn program. Through this
program we will be able to get new educational resources for our school/early learning
centre – and all we need you to do is shop for your groceries at Woolworths. From
Wednesday 26th July to Tuesday 19th September or while stock lasts, we are collecting
Woolworths Earn & Learn Stickers. You will get one Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker for
every $10 spent (excluding liquor, tobacco and gift cards). Place the Woolworths Earn &
Learn Sticker onto a Woolworths Earn & Learn Sticker Sheet and when it’s complete, the
Sticker Sheet can be dropped into the Collection Box here at the school or at your local
Woolworths. At the end of the promotion, we’ll be able to get some great new equipment. The
range is extensive and offers lots of items ideal for our students – including resources for
Maths, English, Science and some fantastic fun supplies for Arts & Craft, Sport and for our
library. If you’d like to know more visit woolworths.com.au/earnandlearn.
This term in the 1/2/3 Classroom we have been learning about identifying rhyme and rhythm in poetry and changing the adjectives, verbs and nouns to create our own version of a poem. The children have enjoyed working on Humpty Dumpty and Hey Diddle Diddle.
We created our own version of Jack and Jill.
Matt and Phil went up the hill
to collect a bucket of water.
Matt fell in and broke his chin
and Phil came diving after.
In Math we have been working on time and money. We have enjoyed role playing Shop
Keeper, counting and working out change. We have been working on time and identifying
