Day Program

For students age 5-8 Full and half-day options available

Join us for a fun-filled summer on the beautiful 11-acre campus of Stanley British Primary School. Each one-week session offers classes in visual and performing arts, science, sports, swimming and choice time. A different theme is integrated each week through classes and activities. Classes are taught by a talented team of Stanley BPS teachers and interns. Full and half-day options as well as “Early Birds” and “Milk and Cookies” are available during registration.

The Day Program is designed to meet a wide variety of interests. Our teachers work hard to provide stimulating, age appropriate, hands-on activities. Students have an opportunity to explore new endeavors in a safe, supportive environment while having loads of fun! You will be asked to indicate preferences for classes at each time slot. Participants are expected to attend the same classes every day for the duration of the one-week session. Classes are 70 minutes with breaks as needed.

Registration Once you have completed your online registration, you will receive a confirmation via e-mail that your order was received. You will have the option to pay for camp in full or pay a $50 non-refundable deposit per camp plus material fees. If you need to make changes to your camp order, see the policy on the Stanley British Primary School website.

The balance of tuition, including Early Birds and Milk and Cookies, is due by May 1. If a credit card was used for the deposit, and we have not received analternate form of payment prior to May 1, we will charge the balance to that card.

Yoga and Mindfulness We’ll explore mindfulness and yoga during this session.

Free Swim Cool off next door to Stanley at the Lowry Swim Club. Certified lifeguards are on duty with supervision by Summer at Stanley staff as well. Must be 6 years old, as of June 1st, to participate in free swim.

Celebrate the Seasons Celebrate each season with a fun project. We’ll make a sun catcher for summer, leaf rubbings for fall, snowmen for winter, and a garden for the spring.

Rocky Mountain Seasons The mountains of Colorado are beautiful indicators of the seasons. From the foothills to the mountaintops, we see the changes of leaves, flowers, and weather. We’ll create art to represent the mountains in each of the seasons.

Winter in June Learn about a variety of cultures’ traditions for welcoming the different seasons by creating fun crafts.

Water Fun! Join us as we celebrate the fun of summer in the water! You can run in the sprinkler, slide on the slip’n slide and have water wars!

Trees Trees are a great indicator of the changings seasons: from buds, to leaves, to changing leaves. Students will learn about why trees change with the seasons.

From Farm to Table We will explore different ways to create delicious dishes with vegetables that can be found in most local gardens.

Weather Science Explore seasonal weather changes through fun science activities.

Cooking Through the Year Create a variety of recipes that are traditionally enjoyed at specific times of year. Apple pie, hot cocoa, ice cream— what’s your favorite?

Garden Friends Butterflies, ladybugs and caterpillars are just some of the garden friends that we’ll read about and create. It’s summertime, the perfect time to make fun crafts! Some that we can put in our own gardens!

Pokémon Go!We will create our own Pokemon characters by using our artistic skills and hide them around campus. We will explore our natural surroundings in an all-out scavenger hunt. How many Pokemon can you find?

Yard Art Let's create some art for the backyard! We'll make colorful flowerpots, fairy houses, garden markers, and more. What a great time of year to make eye- catching crafts to display outside!

Backyard Scavenger HuntWe'll use the beautiful Stanley campus to explore the wonders of our natural world through a series of scavenger hunts and games. What kind of birds and trees can you find?

Hand and Foot Animal Crafts Come explore the animal kingdom as we create animal crafts using our hands and feet. You’ll learn how to paint a parrot with your foot and make a giraffe with a print of your arm.

2D Wild Animals in Art Let’s discover new and exciting ways to make artistic 2D animals using paint and other fun art media.

3D Wild Animals in Art Let’s discover new and exciting ways to make artistic 3D animals using papier-mache, clay, cardboard, and other fun art media.

Animal Crafts What animals can you make with beads, paper plates, egg cartons, socks and toilet paper tubes? Join us and find out!

Wild Animals in Our Backyard! We’ll observe wild animals like rabbits and birds around Stanley and then create artwork from our observations of them.

Cooking Through Books If you’ve wished you could sample some of the foods in your favorite books, then you’re in the right place. Join us as we try foods like Runaway Bunny Garden Salad or The Very Hungry Caterpillar Trifle.

Animal Science Learn about interesting animals through hands on science activities such as making a worm hotel or an ant farm.

Animal Adaptations What makes each animal unique? Why do zebras have stripes? Children will learn about animals and their adaptations. We’ll even create some of our own!

The Magic School Bus in the Time of the Dinosaurs Don’t miss this chance to hop aboard Ms. Frizzle’s magic bus to learn about the dinosaurs that roamed the earth millions of years ago.

Beautiful Junk Are you creative? Do you love to build? Use beautiful junk to create incredible homes for imaginary animals.

Wild Animals Head to Toe Do you like to move? Are you a performer? Do you like animals? Then this is for you! We’ll use books, yoga poses and improvisation to act out the ways that animals move.

Grandpa’s Favorite Games Do today’s kids know how to jump rope, hopscotch or play jacks? We’ll go outside and introduce campers to the fun games their grandparents played.

Yucky Crafts! Yucky & ucky! Yep, it’s all about poop, ticks, leaches, roaches and more. We’ll be reading about these really disgusting things and then we’ll make some icky fun crafts. Gross and fun!

Oh Gross! Snot, germs, dead bugs---ewww! Come on, you know you love ‘em. Let’s make some gooey slime, drinkable blood and other super gross things. Being gross can be disgustingly good!

Bartholomew and The Oobleck Interested in finding new and fun ways to mix colors? Children will create hands on materials and play with color variations using various household items.

Moldy Mold We will spend the week seeing what molds we can grow and what happens when food goes bad. Don’t worry! We won’t eat it, but we may make some gross recipes that we can eat!

Eating Spiders! We will make all kinds of bug-themed treats to eat. Of course, we won’t be eating the real thing—just creepy, crawly, tasty treats!

Ooooo-bleck! We will spend the week cooking up all sorts of gross recipes. From oobleck to gak to fake worms. We will be able to play with our recipes after we make them!

Green Eggs and Ham In this class, we will investigate different combinations that sound like they would taste terrible but actually go well together. Peanut butter and bacon! Apples and cheese!

Gross! Don’t Play with Your Food! Make really gross looking treats to take home!

Bumps, Bruises and Scrapes “Can I have a Band-Aid?” For anyone who has said these words more than once, this fun session will be necessary! We will learn about everyday injuries and how to properly care for them.

Bubble, Bubble, Toil and Trouble! Explore the science of bubbles. Make giant bubbles that you can step inside of. You’ll also paint with bubbles and make ghostly bubbles.

Brains! Guts! Skin! Yes, these are all things that zombies enjoy. They are also things that your child will explore during this fun, hands- on class on the gross aspects of the human body!

Mad Scientists Students will make up wacky concoctions like gak and oobleck, form predictions and then observe what happens.

Finger Weaving Did you know that you can make something beautiful just by using your fingers and yarn? Join us and you’ll learn how!

Beautiful Junk Are you creative? Do you love to build? Use beautiful junk to create incredible space ships.

1,2,3 Blastoff! How do rockets work? Make bottle rockets out of Alka-Seltzer and film canisters and other junk materials.

Why Isn’t Pluto a Planet Anymore? Learn all about the solar system. Make 3-D models.

Moon Waves Campers will discover the power of the moon. They will learn about the moon and understand how it affects our world.

Astronaut Training Learn what it takes for a mission to space. Young Astronauts decide what they would take with them, learn about the effects of zero gravity on the human body, and work to train their minds and bodies for one out-of-this-world adventure!

The Magic School Bus Lost in the Solar System Beep, Beep! It’s time to board the Magic School Bus with Ms. Frizzle and learn all about the wonders of our solar system!

Humans Vs. Aliens Aliens have shown up to take over our planet, but they have underestimated our abilities as a species. Our only choice is to “tag” them! Join the fight!

Magic School Bus Medieval Castle Learn from Ms. Frizzle’s adventures of traveling back in time to a medieval castle to learn about the Middle Ages. Learn about and build castles, read about dragons, and create your own armor.

Crazy Chemistry Eliminate the mystery in chemistry. Explore one of the most exciting and fundamental sciences as you grow a crazy crystal garden and make your own “chemical” soda pop!

The Magic of Art Create beautiful art with mysterious techniques such as wax-resist, printing, magic milk, and scratch art.

Cooking Chemistry Cooking is all about chemistry! We will discover how our food cooks and learn some fun recipes.

The Mystery of Baking How does bread rise? Why do cookies get harder and flatter in the over? In this class, we will be able to see the mysteries of baking first hand and get delicious byproducts of our learning.

Quidditch at Stanley Our friends at Hogwarts have trained us in the game of Quidditch and have even made some adaptations so that we, mere Muggles, can enjoy the sport.

Harry Potter Explore the wonders of Harry Potter

and Hogwarts! We will make Butterbeer and try to create spells.

Head Detective There are several mysteries that have arisen around Stanley and we need someone of your expertise to help us solve the problems that have popped up. Lead a detective hunt to figure out who is causing the trouble here at Stanley.

Imagination Station Children will create their own wacky creatures with materials such as puppets, papier-mache, paint, beautiful junk, and clay.

Castles! We all know that dragons love to hang out around castles, so we will be building our own medieval castles using a variety of materials.

Imaginary Creatures Come have some fun making imaginary creatures. We’ll use pipecleaners, clay, paint, googly eyes, and other crafty items to invent our own silly creatures.

The World is Our Canvas Join us as we collect everyday objects found in nature and then use them to produce wonderfully creative creatures out of collage.

Walk, Fly, Swim The world is full of strange animals. In this creative class, learn about some of the world’s most unusual animals and their interesting adaptations. Then, design and create a new species of animal using found objects and natural materials.

Cooking for Creatures Discover new foods as we cook our way through some of our favorite books! Learn to make cookies to feed a mouse, or muffins to feed a moose!

Monster Treats Do you like to cook? Do you like to eat? Do you like crazy, creepy treats? Well, you’ve come to the right place! We’ll be making strange and delicious treats for you to eat.

Beautiful Junk Are you creative? Do you love to build? Use beautiful junk to create incredible creatures.

Look at Our Creative Creatures! Are you creative? Do you like to perform? We will be exploring different children’s books and then creating our own story through performance.

Butterflies! We will observe butterflies and caterpillars while doing craft projects all centered around butterflies and the butterfly lifecycle.

Where the Wild Things Are Inspired by the story by Maurice Sendak, students will make up and perform their own stories about another place with made up creatures.
