Bring back your audition application, completely filled out and signed. Applications are turned in at the time of the audition. You may only audition if 1) your application paper has been filled out and turned in and 2) you have signed up for an audition time (sign-ups will be posted in the high school music hallway and in or near Mrs. Rinehart’s music room) and 3) your three teacher/coach/mentor recommendation sheets have been turned in to Mrs. Picchioni or Ms. Hannon. Recommendation sheets need to be turned in ONLY if you did not participate in The Lion King, Sister Act, or Willy Wonka. AUDITIONS: Auditions are scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday, September 5 th & 6 th from 3-5:30 PM with callback auditions scheduled for the following Thursday (if necessary). Auditions will be closed, meaning that parents and other students will not be allowed to watch. Parents may wait in the cafeteria lobby while their child is auditioning. Parents and students waiting to audition must remain in the designated space in the cafeteria lobby during auditions. It is each auditioning student’s responsibility to sign up for an audition time/day, to show up at that time/day, and to have their transportation arranged for that time/day. Results will be posted the day after callback auditions. PLEASE NOTE: all casting decisions are final. Parts will be assigned to the best overall prepared and performed auditions. Judges scores will remain confidential and will not be posted. Casting placements will not be debated or discussed once the final cast decision is made. Negative or jealous comments from parents/students regarding cast members or their placements will not be tolerated, and will result in the cast member being released from the play. Please understand that not everyone who auditions will be cast. The following website will be helpful in preparing for your audition: http://srotheatercompany.com/id52.html (this site has links to all audition songs) Additional links to Wizard of Oz songs can be found by searching “Wizard of Oz RSC Karaoke” on YouTube. Who can audition? All fifth through twelfth grade students (2017-18 school year) who are in good behavioral/academic standing may audition. In accordance with the Three Rivers Educational Campus extracurricular code of conduct policy, participation in extracurricular activities (which includes the school musical) is dependent upon the following: you must be in good academic standing, have a good school attendance record, and follow the school and district code of conduct. The administration may withdraw this privilege at any time. Recommendations: Dorothy-Somewhere Over the Rainbow, Wicked Witch-The Jitterbug, Glinda-Come Out Come Out Wherever You Are, Scarecrow/Lion/Tinman-If I Only Had a Brain/the Nerve, Emerald City Guard/Munchkins/Ozians/The Wizard-Merry Old Land of Oz If you choose to audition with a different song than listed above, please provide a link to your music in advance of your audition. Music must be instrumental only. You will not be allowed to audition to music with vocal tracks. Participating in a school musical production provides a unique and rewarding experience for the students of Three Rivers Educational Campus. In order to best serve the needs and goals of producing a major musical, participants should be comprised of those students who are willing and able to make a total commitment to the schedule involved in producing a show such as The Wizard of Oz. This commitment may limit the cast due to after school conflicts (cheerleading, football, soccer, volleyball, golf, Girls on the Run, etc.) but should not prohibit involvement in the fall musical. It is necessary that parents, guardians, and students are aware of the commitment and responsibilities required for participating in a school musical before the student auditions. Hopefully, this knowledge will promote the cooperation and dedication necessary to produce a successful show, and will eliminate misunderstandings and lack of teamwork.

Reasons for Conflicts
Date Reason for Conflict (brief)
Three Rivers Children’s Theatre’s
CONFLICT POLICY:
TRCT reserves the right to NOT CAST a participant if there are excessive conflicts.
Each cast member must be available for the full run of technical rehearsals and performances.
Planned conflicts must be turned in on the conflict sheet by the night of auditions. Any conflicts received
after that will be considered an unexcused absence.
Cast members may have two (3) unexcused absence during the rehearsal period. Participants with additional
absences may be asked to leave the show.
Arriving more than 30 minutes late or leaving early from rehearsal is considered an absence. If a cast member
needs to be late to rehearsal for a planned event, it must submitted prior to the date of absence.
TRCT cannot plan rehearsals without an accurate understanding of who is available at any given rehearsal.
Therefore, failure to accurately complete the conflict calendar may result in loss of part or being asked to
leave the show.
