SustainabilityinAveryGlen TheCenterforSustainabilityisexcitedtoannouncetheadditionofEnvironmentalResidentsinAveryGlen!YourERsfor2016-2017are: SaimaShah SaraBelbase MishaalKhan AnnaTomkinsThroughouttheyear,theERswillbeavailabletoaddressyoursustainabilityquestionsandconcerns,and will raise awareness of sustainable living practices that will benefit you beyond your time atAgnesScott. AveryGlenStudentResidentGeneralInformationParkingEveryAveryGlenresidentwithavehiclemustensurethatthemake,model,year,color,andlicenseplatenumberforthevehicleareonfilewiththeleasingofficeandreceivearesidentwindowdecal.Toavoidbeing ticketedor towed, thedecalmustbevisibleatall timesand is tobeplacedon theinside of the rear windshield in the bottom left-hand corner (driver’s side). With this processcomplete,residentshavefullparkingaccesstoall(non-handicapable)parkingspotsinthecomplex.Residents requiring handicapable parkingmust go through the leasing office staff and provide theproperdocumentationevidencingneedforsuchaccommodation.Visitorparkingisavailableneartheleasingoffice,aswellasinareaswithoutsignageindicating“residentonly”parking.
• Residents inAveryGlen(AG)mustalsopurchasethestandardASCparkingdecal inordertopark on campus. The AG decal does not count towards parking on the ASCmain campus.ParkingwithouttheASCdecalwill result inaticket,booting,ortowing.AGstudentsdonotcountasguestsorvisitorsonthemaincampusandareprohibitedfromusingthosespots.
RentingWashersandDryersIndividual washer and dryer sets are not provided by Avery Glen. Residents have the option toprovidetheirownwasheranddryersetsortorentwasheranddryersets for thedurationof theirtimeatAveryGlen.Foryourconvenience,AveryGlenhasanestablishedrelationshipwithApplianceWarehouseofAmerica, Inc.forresidentstorentWhirlpoolwasheranddryersetsfortheacademicyear. Sets are rented to students at a rate of $40 per month. A mandatory meeting between all apartment/house residents and the Community Director, AreaCoordinatorortheDirectorofResidenceLifewillbescheduledasapre-conditionofapproval.Iftherequesting apartmenthaspreviously submitted aparty registration form, attended themandatorymeeting, and hosted a successful event (without ASC Public Safety or ASC Residence Life staffintervention),thenthedesignatedhostoftheeventwillbetheonlyrequiredperson(s)toattendtheregistrationmeetingperevent.
ASCPublicSafetyandResidenceLifeon-callstaffwillbenotifiedoncearegistrationformissubmittedand once the registered party is approved. The primary contact for the party registration will becontacted when the event has been approved. The party registration form does NOT guaranteeapproval.
OfficialCollegePolicy:
Individuals in Theme Houses and Avery Glen Apartments hosting an event are responsible forensuring compliance with College policies and state and local laws. Individuals who violate thesepoliciesaresubjecttodisciplinaryactionsbytheCollege,bythestateofGeorgia,andbytheCityofDecatur.
• Agnes Scott College prohibits the unlawful possession, use or distribution of illicit drugs oralcoholbystudents,studentorganizations,facultyorstaffonitpropertyaspartofanyCollegesponsoredactivities.
• Studentswho are age 21or oldermay consumealcohol at registered and approved “BYO”(bringyourown)eventsorspecialeventsapprovedforservingalcoholoncampusandduringthetimeapprovedfortheevent.
Any student or groupof studentswhohost an event are expected to follow the standardsbelow.Failure to abide by standards may result in disciplinary action for some or all residents of thehouse/apartmentaswellasguests.
• The functionwill end no later than 2:00am.Quiet hours begin at 12:00midnight. All partynoisemustceaseby12:00midnight. If there isacomplaintofnoiseatany timeduring theparty,thepartywillceaseandtheattendeesmustdisperse.AtthediscretionofaresidentialstaffmemberoranAgnesScottPublicSafetyOfficerthepartywillceaseandattendeesmustdisperse.
• If the party spills out into the area surrounding the apartment/house, the partywill ceaseuponthedirectionofresidentialstafforASCPublicSafety.Residenthostsareresponsibleforthebreak-upandcontroloftheparty.
• Costofanydamagethatoccursinoraroundthepartyareaistheresponsibilityoftheresidenthost(s). The Resident Host(s) will also be charged for any extra custodial services that areneededbecauseoftheparty.
• The resident hosts will clean the area (inside and outside of the house/apartment) anddisposeoftrashimmediatelyafterthefunction.
• Only persons 21 years of age or oldermay consume or possess alcohol. Resident host areresponsibleforthispolicythroughoutthedurationoftheparty.
• AlistofallregisteredeventswillbegiventoASCPublicSafetyandresidentialstaff.• Eventsmay only be registered on Friday and Saturday nights. No partieswill be registered
