Welcome

Summer is here and the Rim of the World Recreation and Park District is very excited to

provide our community with new recreation opportunities! New this summer is our boredom

-busting Enrichment Activities (page 4). These programs are filled with specialized activities

for school-aged children and are offered in facilities near you at a low cost for easy summer

enjoyment.

The Park District has great instructors offering high-quality recreational programs; however

we are always on the lookout for new contract classes that might broaden our services to

meet everyone’s needs. If you have expertise to offer the community, consider becoming a

Contract Instructor with the Park District (page 15).

New things are coming to the Park District and we are very excited for the future! Make sure

to visit our website, www.rim-rec.org for the latest information and program updates. We

invite you to come play in our parks, enjoy our facilities, and participate in our programs.

place where princesses-in-training were summoned to learn

proper princess etiquette. They twirl, leap, spin, and sing just

like real princesses do. They also have fun coloring and doing

Princesses from all over are then invited to a special tea party,

where each one is crowned, receives a certificate of

Tea Party will be on August 15th (no dance instruction that

day) with a special closing ceremony. You are welcome to

A look into the Future...

The Park District is very excited to be installing outdoor fitness

equipment at our Twin Peaks Recreation Complex this

summer. This ‘outdoor’ fitness area will provide a full body

workout, with cardio elements, strength-building, and

stretching apparatus. The fitness area will be accessible, low-

impact, and free to use. Outdoor gyms are the ideal way to

keep adults active well into their golden years. This center will

be open to multigenerational appeal – so include the entire

family in your workout!

The Park District will be adding a new park to our mountain

family! With the partnership of the Water Company of Green

Valley Lake, the District will be installing a new playground for

public use. The plans are to have this new park open and

ready for summer use.

The Park District is also investing time and research for acquiring land in Crestline for a future park.

Board of Directors

To hear more about the exciting plans for the future and other

Park District happenings, please attend our monthly public

board meetings held on the 4th Monday of each month. Time

and locations are posted on the agenda, which are posted on

our website, www.rim-rec.org. Your participation is
