Syngenta and its legacy companies have supported many of the area’s charitable and civic causes. Through our Minnetonka Community Grant Program, Syngenta focuses its corporate giving on local programs that support important needs in our community: ! agriculture and/or STEM (Science Technology Engineering & Math) education ! hunger relief ! water and land conservation Our Mission The Minnetonka Community Grant Program strives to provide meaningful funding to not-for-profit programs in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities that help further the understanding and advancement of agriculture and its role in feeding a growing population while protecting the environment. Our Objectives Syngenta welcomes applications from organizations in the Twin Cities and surrounding communities that will enable Agriculture and/or STEM Education, water and land conservation, and hunger relief. Projects reflecting innovative approaches and solutions, thoughtful planning, long-term impact and the most educational value for dollars spent will be given priority. Our Vision Through the Minnetonka Community Grant Program, Syngenta wishes to reach out to as many community organizations as possible. With a global population on track to exceed 9 billion by 2050, Syngenta has a role to play—both globally and locally—to meet the increasing demand for food and education. Syngenta Minnetonka Community Grant Program Guidelines Please review all guidelines below before beginning your application. 1. Deadline: Applications must be received no later than Friday, October 9, 2015. We
will not accept late proposals or those sent via mail or fax. Applications and supporting materials must be e-mailed in one document to: [email protected]. The subject of the email should read: (Insert organization name) Community Grant Application.
2. If, for any reason, a question does not pertain to your organization, please explain
why or indicate any not applicable with “NA.” Do not skip any questions. 3. Applications must be typed. 4. Please limit the length of your answers to the space provided. 5. Do not submit materials other than those requested. 6. Grants are made only to non-profit, charitable organizations, which are tax exempt
under Section 501(c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code, or to schools and government agencies. In general, grants will be awarded in sums ranging from $1,000 to $10,000. Only organizations that operate within the Twin Cities and surrounding communities are eligible for consideration.
7. We generally do not consider requests from:
• Individuals • Fraternal, labor or veteran groups • Partisan political organizations • Member agencies of federated campaigns such as United Way or United Arts
Council • National organizations • Organizations employing full-time fundraisers who take a percentage of dollars
raised • Organizations which practice discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color,
gender, disability, sexual orientation or national origin 8. Please refrain from contacting us to check on the status of your application.
Finalists may be asked to present their proposals to a team of judges. Grant recipients will be notified on or before Friday, January 29, 2016.
9. Grant winners will be asked to submit a success story to the Community Grant committee by August 2016 to be considered for future grant money.
10. Syngenta maintains the right to suspend or cancel the Grant Program at any given
time.
