Directions for Making your Liberated Panels:
1. Cut a variety of strips from your chosen fabrics. Vary the width from 1.5” to 4”. 2. Trim each strip to 21”.
3. Sew strips together in a way that is pleasing to your eye.
I am making the larger sized quilt which uses 2 panels. The smaller quilt requires 1 panel.
Please remember that this is Liberated Piecing so just have fun assembling your panels.

Cutting Directions
We will be cutting the panels. This will happen during the mystery.
1. STARCH Your FabricPress ALL your fabric using STARCH. I used a medium amount of starch. A light starching may not be enough to stabilize the fabric.
Starch your liberated panels, accent fabric and background fabric. The most important for heavier starch is the background fabric.
2. TRIM your accent fabric and background fabricWOF = Width of Fabric. Usually 42” to 45”. Varies by fabric.
1. Your fabric measures 42” (including selvedges). Don't trim. Leave selvedges on the fabric.
