President’s Message By Diane Ahonen

Hello everyone, and thank you for your support of our call to action to contact your legislators regarding HB16-1320, which in its present form will eliminate reflexology from exclusion in the Message Therapy Act. It’s been a crazy month! We still have a few things left to do, so keep up the great work. Now, I hope you will draw upon your dedication to reflexology to consider serving on the ARC Board as the recording secretary. We’ve got volunteers to run for all other offices, and we cannot go forward without a full slate. Members of the Board will be calling each member this week to

personally ask you to consider serving on the Board. It’s a fun opportunity to shape the direction of ARC for the next two years. Officers elected at the May 2016 meeting will serve from July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2018. Included in this newsletter is the ballot for May 2016. If you are not going to attend the May 10 meeting, but would like your vote to be counted, please print and return the completed ballot to any member of the ARC Board before May 10, 2016. You may scan your completed ballots to me at [email protected]. I hope to see you all at the May 10, 2016 meeting. The meeting will be held at The Malley Senior Recreation Center located at 3380 S. Lincoln St., Englewood. There is free parking available in the lots located immediately to the East of the Center, across Lincoln Ave. to the West of the Center and across E. Girard Ave. to the South of the Center. We will begin with a potluck at 6 pm, followed by a brief business meeting and then a discussion of reflexology. Please bring questions or concerns you may have for discussion with your peers, as well as examples of practices you are successfully integrating with your clients. The meeting will conclude at 9 pm. If you have items for discussion at the business meeting, please let me know and I will put you on the agenda. Hope to see you all in May. Diane

ARC Quarterly Meeting Minutes

Date: February 9, 2016

Location: Malley Senior Center

Diane called the meeting to order at 6:01 pm.

A copy of the amended bylaws was passed out to each member.

The group was reminded that we will need a new recording secretary after Pam Moser’s term ends at the end of June.

The May membership meeting will be a potluck. The theme will be “Reflexology.” Members are asked to bring questions, stories, tips etc. for an evening of information sharing.

Diane introduced Rachel who not only passed out packets about our personal biome and herbal recipes, but also proceeded to cook up a storm, finally sending us all home with an herbal cough remedy.

The meeting was adjourned at 9 pm. Attendants were awarded 3 CEU’s for this fascinating presentation. Thank you Rachel!
