Dear FriendsWe are excited to share with you in this annual report examples of impact, stories of giving and images of inspiration that Our Fund Foundation has affected through our efforts to connect people who care with causes that matter in South Florida.

As we enter our sixth year as a community foundation supporting lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender people and causes, we continue to expand our profile and deepen our level of commitment and giving. We are fortunate to have attracted a wide and generous community of supporters who engage with Our Fund Foundation to further their philanthropic goals. From establishing estate plans designed to benefit local agencies to facilitating donor advised funds that allow for streamlined and tax-beneficial giving, Our Fund has the capacity to increase and elevate giving that supports non-profit agencies advancing LGBT causes.

Our year was marked by a change in executive leadership as founding President & CEO Tony Timiraos retired in December 2015 and David Jobin assumed the mantle coming to Our Fund from down the street at Stonewall National Museum & Archives. Because of a dedicated Board of Directors, an informed and participatory base of stakeholders and an increasingly sophisticated and stable network of agencies, Our Fund successfully navigated the change and stands poised to play a greater role in affecting change as we enter the 2nd half of our first decade.

Our Annual Report is our chance to trumpet our good and important work and the reliable and relatable manner in which we conduct ourselves in South Florida. If you are a current supporter, we hope that you see your values at work in the following pages. If you’re not a member of the Our Fund family, we invite you to join us on our journey to make South Florida the most livable community in the country for LGBT people.

Sincerely,

David Jobin Chuck LoringPresident & CEO Board Chair

“Our Fund allows us to give gifts to our community, from our community”

Remembering Community Volunteer and Philanthropist Walter Gaugler

Walter’s passing in early 2015 generated Our Fund’s first estate gift since the foundation was launched in 2011. Our Fund created the Walter J. Gaugler, Jr. Endowment Challenge to leverage Walter’s estate to encourage agencies to develop operation-supporting endowments at Our Fund.

Legacy Society

For more information about legacy giving, please call the

Our Fund office at 954-565-1090 and speak with Mark Blaylock or

David Jobin.

Our Fund encourages individuals to define their purpose and to be intentional with their wills and estates in order to reflect the values by which they live their lives. Our Fund Foundation’s Legacy Society positions us to make a considerable future impact on LGBT causes and concerns. We thank these members for their thoughtful generosity and invite others to join this list.

A gathering at NSU Art Museum’s Horvitz Auditorium co-presented with South Florida Gay News included community leaders, music from the Gay Men’s Chorus of South Florida, and the South Florida Symphony. Donations were taken to help build Central Florida’s non-profit sector in response to the LGBTQ and Latino directed hate crime.
