Visit penguins, watch the sea lions perform and feed the farm animals at the petting zoo. You will be immersed in fun and knowledge about some of the coolest creatures in the world! Thursday, June 2nd, 3:00 – 4:00 Get down, shake it up and have a blast with this fun 1-hour belly dancing lesson! Ms. Cohen will lead a belly dancing class, complete with live music, in the lower music room. The little belly dancing boys and girls will get to take home a personalized tambourine, a silk dancing scarf, a coin hip sash, and a CD of Middle Eastern music so they can shimmy anytime the mood strikes! ++

Does he/she try to saw the family pet in half? Maybe your budding David Copperfield or Criss Angel should take an after school lesson from magician and beloved substitute teacher, Mr. Scott! Your little one will watch a magic demonstration, practice some patter, and learn the secrets of magic and illusion! Tuesday, April 5th, 2:40 – 5:00 Mr. Moy will head over to the Museum of Natural History with up to 6 kids to see the popular "Hall of Ocean Life" exhibit which features a life-size replica of a blue whale. We'll also head over to see the recently introduced dinosaur skeleton being touted as the largest dinosaur believed to have existed. In addition, children will each get to choose a souvenir (up to $12 in value) from the museum gift shop. *1 parent chaperone is needed.

STRIKE! WITH COACH SANCHEZ & COACH KNIGHT 6 WINNERS (Grades 2-4) ................................... Wednesday, April 20th, 3:00 – 4:45 1 Hour of Bowling fun at Frames with the Anderson PE Coaches. *Students will be brought back to school for pickup at the end of the event. EGYPT OR BUST! WITH MR. NAHABEDIAN 16 WINNERS (Grades 3-8) .................................... Wednesday, June 1st, 2:45 – 5:00 Students will walk across Central Park with Mr. Nahabedian to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Egyptian Wing. Mr. Nahabedian will introduce students to major trends and artworks from the Pre-dynastic era to the Roman rule, as well as discuss Egypt’s vast contributions to Western Cultures. The tour will highlight the Tomb of Perneb (4thD), the Models of Meketre (12thD), Hatshepsut (18thD), the Temple of Dendur (15BCE), and Fayum Mummy Portraits (Roman Rule). Event will begin and end outside the main office. *Bring a sketchbook to this event!

MUSIC PICNIC IN THE PARK WITH MR. MUCHA & MR. FISHER 12 WINNERS (Grades 4-8) ..................................... Wednesday, May 4th, 2:45 – 4:45 Come join Mr. Mucha and Mr. Fisher for an after school picnic at Strawberry Fields in Central Park. We will sing songs written by John Lennon and the Beatles. We will pick up snacks at Lenny's on the way. *You may bring your guitar. Parents of 4th and 5th graders should meet us at Strawberry Fields at 4:45. Grade 6-8 students can leave on their own. KOZOL'S KITCHEN CREATIONS 10 WINNERS (Grades 6-8) ......................................... June, Specific Date/Time TBD Taste Buds Kitchen is a space that hosts cooking events for children and adults in Chelsea. Their mission is to develop budding chefs who can incorporate their new cooking expertise into family life. Students joining Ms. Kozol will be coached by chefs while learning to prepare 1 or 2 selections.

OLD SCHOOL VS. MIDDLE SCHOOL LASER TAG WITH MS. CHANDONNET, MR. CONWAY & MR. WOO 15 WINNERS (Grades 6-8) ............................. Monday, April 25th, 2:40 – 5:00/5:30 After winning three years in a row, Old School has decided to take its skills off campus and challenge Middle School to a couple rounds of Laser Tag. Let's see if the Middle School can take the TROPHY (yes we have a trophy this year) from the Old School team. *Students will travel with teachers to the laser tag location. Students must be picked up or self-dismissed from the laser tag location (either Chelsea Piers or Long Island City, TBD).

++Children will have to be picked up at dismissal time, and escorted back to the school lobby at 3:00. Bus children will be able to wait in the office. Wingspan/Chess kids can arrange for a Wingspan/Chess chaperone to bring them to the lobby and pick them up.
