Question #2: This application calls for expansion of service to Duvall and Carnation, yet the Sustain Snoqualmie Valley Transportation application describes an existing service to Carnation and Duvall. Please explain. Answer #2: The existing service to Carnation and Duvall is the Valley Shuttle (aka: King County Metro Alternative Route 629) which travels M-F every 90 minutes along a fixed route through this area. The application for expansion of service is to provide services to people who cannot walk to this fixed route service. The only other service that currently exists in this area is the Hyde Shuttle which is inadequate to meet the needs in this area, has limited capacity and limited usage by rider type. Question #3: Does your agency use any performance measures for quality of service provided, i.e. rider satisfaction? Answer #3: Yes. We track complaints, do rider satisfaction surveys, have onboard comment cards, do ride-alongs with a driver coach, and track the rides per hours, miles per ride, and average ride time. We also do extensive outreach in the area.

Answer #1:

Question #4: If yes to question #3, what data collection methods will your organization use to record
performance measures?
Answer #4:
We will use what we currently use to track performance; Trapeze, the routing software, which is
provided as an in-kind donation to us from King County Metro Transit. Trapeze is how we track metrics
on the routes. We will also use hotsheets through dispatch, comment card tracking, incident report
tracking and driver alerts to stay in touch with what is happening on the routes.
Question #5: Please provide more detail on the measurable targets your organization has established
for each measure cited and how well the program has performed in meeting its objectives, i.e., met,
exceeded expectations, etc.?
Answer #5:
This application to expand will have the same performance measures as demand response in the upper
valley cites of North Bend, Snoqualmie, Fall City & Preston. Our goal is flawless execution (100%) and
while we haven’t reach that goal at all times, our current stats are fairly good: 98% on time, drivers are
well trained and can recite the rules for the service, 99% satisfaction with the drivers and 95%
satisfaction with the ride times, routes are working within the parameters set for them in terms of rides
per hour, miles per ride, and we have had zero Title VI complaints. Driver alerts and incidents are
followed up within 48 hours with all parties involved. We don’t wait for customer feedback to become
an issue. We swarm each bit of feedback, regardless of how small, to determine the likelihood that it will
occur again and stop it before it becomes a complaint or a more major issue.
