Recruitment of Staff
Host a spring job fair to encourage employment in CISD and participate in university and local area job fairs

Coordinate the recruitment, selection, hiring, and campus placement of District pool of bilingual teachers

Provide an ethnically and racially diverse staff, and develop a pool of minority and shortage area applicants

Conduct a yearly meeting for the Council of Minority Recruitment and Retention

Offer “Grow Our Own” initiative for Bilingual paras to become Bilingual teachers, Bilingual teachers to become Bilingual administrators, and Special Education shortage areas (Diagnosticians/LSSPs)

Continue to offer visits to college and university campuses to promote CISD to pre-service teachers and continue to provide informational sessions for CISD paraprofessionals interested in teaching

Host fall and spring Student Teacher Receptions to encourage professional employment with Conroe ISD and to build on the pool of qualified substitutes

Redesign the HR website to provide ease of access to pertinent information and a more attractive, modern layout for prospective employees

Update recruitment video, which encourages minority and shortage area candidates to work for Conroe ISD

Conduct electronic surveys at professional new hire orientation meetings to collect feedback on the CISD recruitment and hiring processes
