Celebrating Gods Work through Vacation Bible School! God showed
up and showed off at FBCs 2015 version of Vacation Bible School!
More than 1300 students and workers participated in this years
spiritual extravaganza entitled: Journey Off the Map. Glen
Leathers, Nancie McQueen, Brenda Rowell, and an all-star team of
mentors merit our greatest accolades of appreciation. They worked
diligently to facilitate this years Bible school and the results
have the angels singing! More than 40 young people made decisions
to commit their lives to Christ. Several have already been baptized
and others are coming. More than $2,000 was raised as an offering
to Baptist Global Response for Earthquake Relief in Nepal. Gods
transforming truth about making Jesus your guide for life was
shared in creative and practical ways that will impact families and
friends forever.
Thank you, First Baptist Family, for functioning as a
Christ-exalting team and providing the resources to implement this
extraordinary experience of Vacation Bible School. God was honored.
The Gospel was shared. Disciples were built. And the Body of Christ
was blessed.
Lets Keep MakingDisciples TOGETHER,
CONNEC IONS from your Pastors Heart
Speaking of Good News: Jason, Katherine and James welcomed John
Nestor Wolf into our family on June 26, 2015. We praise God for his
safe arrival!

First Baptist FoundationDo you have a Durable Power of Attorney?
Or a Healthcare Power of Attorney? Why do you need one? The First
Baptist Foundation has a ministry in place to make sure you have
your plan in order. One FBC member recently spoke with a
PhilanthroCorp estate specialist, and had this to say about his
phone conversation: This is a great service that every FBC family
needs to take advantage of. The PhilanthroCorp estate specialist
helped me think through some great questions with no pressure. Its
not at all about anyone wanting any money..its about having your
plan written down so that when the time comes, be it a medical
situation or death, decisions are already made. This service
allowed me to be a good steward of what God has given me. For more
information, contact Alissa Irvin at 241.5127 or visit
www.montgomeryfbc.org/first-baptist-foundation.
Childrens HopeChildrens Hope is in need of child sponsorships!
For just $35/month, you can provide a child with housing, clothes,
food, education, and a place to learn about Gods love. To sponsor a
child, you can go to www.children-hope.com, make a check payable to
Childrens Hope, or contact Ann Amster at [email protected].
Community MinistriesJoin us for Friday Night Basketball in the
Nehemiah Gym (217 Broadway Street). We will meet every Friday at
5:30 pm. Groups or individuals are welcome to join the Chisholm
Community Youth for a great workout and fellowship. Co-sponsored by
City Parks and Recreation and the Nehemiah Center. Also needed are
volunteers to share a brief devotion. For more information, contact
Todd Carmichael at 430.5817 or [email protected].
