HART (Helping Area Response Teams) is a new program providing on-scene support services to first responders in Washtenaw County. HART’s GoFundMe campaign is designed to raise funds to keep this much-needed service operational. GoFundMe is the world’s leading fundraising website, allowing people to share their ideas and raise funds to support important programs like HART. HART recognizes that everyday first responders put their lives at risk. Using a retrofitted ambulance, HART arrives at the scene of an incident to provide basic conveniences including snacks, hot coffee, and a comfortable place to rest. These amenities help reduce the risk of injury and improve morale among local first responders. Founding member and Pittsfield Township Fire Chief Sean Gleason believes in HART’s mission– "It's not to make money, it's just to help first responders. How can you not think it's a great thing?" HART has set a fundraising goal of $35,000, the estimated annual operating cost. Funds raised will be used to purchase diesel for the truck, gasoline for the generator, and consumable items including food and beverages to stock the truck. Donations can easily be made at GoFundMe.com/HARTHV to support this worthy cause. All funds received directly benefit Washtenaw
