CNC MACHINING FUNDAMENTALS AND APPLICATIONS ©2009BY RICHARD A. GIZELBACH

CNC Machining is designed to teach students how to efficiently use CNC milling machines, lathes, and electrical discharge machines by introducing them to the processes, tools, programs, and machines found in industry. A learning friendly presentation consists of clear text and math content along with easy-to-follow drawings and photos. Examples of programming for 3-axis machining centers and 2-axis turning centers create a baseline knowledge that can be applied to other setups.

By focusing on the commonly used G- and M- codes, students develop the skills needed to use all CNC machines, not just those from a specific manufacturer.

Students can gain hands-on experience by editing and running the included programs. Programs are written in long form to ensure that beginning students learn the proper

language before they encounter shortened versions on the job or elsewhere.

ENGINEERING FUNDAMENTALSDESIGN, PRINCIPLES, AND CAREERS ©2014BY RYAN A. BROWN, JOSHUA W. BROWN AND MICHAEL BERKEIHISER

Engineering Fundamentals: Design, Principles, and Careers provides a complete introduction to the field, starting with the design process and then reviewing, in-depth, nine of the top disciplines. For each discipline, career options, educational requirements, basic math and science principles, and real-world applications are presented. The content fully supports STEM initiatives and an activity-based curriculum.

The text is appropriate for all levels of students as technical content is presented in an easy-to-understand manner.

Students learn methods to identify problems, brainstorm, and develop solutions. It correlates to college and career readiness state standards for math and to Next

Generation Science Standards.

www.g-w.com/engineering-fundamentals-2014

Students discover that engineers use math, science, and technology to create solutions and improve the world.

Students learn that engineering solutions result from following specific steps or processes rather than from a trial-and-error method of discovery.

VIDEO GAME DESIGN

INTRODUCTION TO VIDEO GAME DESIGN ©2012BY D. MICHAEL PLOOR

Introduction to Video Game Design is a fun and easy text-software design guide combination that uses an activity-based integrated curriculum: game-theory reading with game-building application lessons. It supports cross-curricular and STEM learning as students use math and science principles, in addition to language arts, social sciences, and applied technology knowledge, to develop their own games. No knowledge of programming or game design is needed.

• It allows the addition of a game unit into existing classes, after-school clubs, or competitive-event preparation.

• Students start creating games immediately with the easy-to-use GameMaker freeware.

• The flexible curriculum can be implemented for 15, 20, 30, 45, or 90 days/hours of instruction.

CHARTING YOUR CAREER ©2015

Charting Your Career Interest Inventory is a hands-on career exploration tool for use in the classroom or independently. It asks students to rank their interest in 160 career-oriented activities. Resources for career research are also included to help students begin making educated decisions about their futures.

• Color-coded columns allow for easy scoring and support visual learning.• The Recommended Courses and Skills provided for each cluster allows students to plan for

the future by identifying the courses they need to take and skills they need to develop.• Statements used in the inventory are backed by extensive research using the
