Make a Difference

Making an ImpactPartnerships with social media giant Facebook provide an expanding base of networking for our youth and our culinary industry. In 2013, Facebook chefs selected two students (at right) from the St. Croix Educational Complex's culinary program to attend a two-week internship at Facebook. They are now full time contracted employees at the global media company.

For 2015, partnerships with our guest chefs have grown into a formal internship program. Facebook Executive Chefs will host two more interns, Sam Choy will host an intern at his restaurant in Hawaii, and Duff Goldman will host an intern at his world-famous bakery, Charm City Cakes, in Baltimore.

Bright Futures

In 2014, the Experience reached theWhite House when Chef Todd Gray handdelivered an apron, signed by 60 youngchefs from Kids Cooking, to First LadyMichelle Obama.

For 2015, Gray is back by populardemand, focusing again on our island'syouth. This year Chef Gray, of MichelleObama's Chefs Move to SchoolsInitiative, is joined by Chef Kevin Fonzo,of the Emeril Foundation and The EdibleSchoolyard, and will offer a specialseminar on nutrition, using local produce, and the art of cooking. Don't miss it!

Eat, drink, and be merry... and know your sponsorship nets bright futures for our youth and yourisland. Named as a top 10 international food and wine festival, the St. Croix Food & WineExperience has raised $1.4 million for community programs and continues to serve as aneconomic engine and industry event that draws local, national, and international attention.
