Pastor David’s Ponderings:
“For if you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.” Matthew 6:14 Forgiveness is a beautiful thing. We should never forget the grace that God has shown to us though Jesus Christ. Because God has forgiven us, we should in turn for give oth-ers! This is a constant reminder. A life of forgiveness is marked with the love of Christ, reaching and helping others. We are headed into fall and all the wonderful celebra-tions. There will be a lot of busyness and fun. As we approach the time of being thank-ful, let us not forget to show our thankfulness by being faithful, by helping others, by sharing in pains and sorrows, and joys and happiness. We of all people should be marked by thanksgiving! Why don’t we purpose in our hearts to be a faithful church member, to come to Sunday School, to not miss worship service, to give our tithes and offerings and to work unto the Lord with our very best. It is discouraging to see the Sunday School numbers fluxuate 20 to 30 people. As a Pastor you wonder about the lack of commitment! Why do we make excuses for not coming to church when we spend all day Saturday doing what we want to do? How thankful are we really? Let us all purpose to be “all in” over the next few months and work together to share the won-derful good news of the gospel. That is what being a “family” is all about! South Fork church family is not a catchy title, but a fact of life. Let’s serve and worship our Savior the way He deserves! For His Glory, David
Ephesians 1:15 - For this reason I too, having heard of the faith in the Lord Jesus which exists among you
and your love for all the saints,
The first thing we see about these believers was their faith and trust in the Lord. They did not try to hide
their faith, even amongst opposition. They had faith in the Lord, no matter their circumstances, that He was
in control and that He cared for them. Paul also heard of how their faith in the Lord was pouring out in their
love for each other as the family of God. It is crucial, as the Body of Christ, for us to love one another.
When you are at school, network with other believers so that you have support when times are tough or be
the support when others need it. As you let the Gospel captivate your heart, then your love for Jesus will
grow and your love for other believers will grow. Your faith and trust in the Lord will become visible to
What are people saying about you? If there was a survey taken in our community and at your school, what
would people say about you? Your friends? Your teachers? Your peers? Would they say that, by the way
that you live your life, they could tell that you knew the Lord? When Paul the apostle wrote the letter to the
Ephesians, he had heard about how the Lord was using the group of believers in Ephesus. Look at what he
says about them…
