1. accuStock™

The energy released when a cartridge is fired creates a series of harmonic waves that travel the length of the barrel. The movement that accompanies these waves can affect how the bullet travels. That’s why any rifle with respectable accuracy will have a firmly bedded action.

Traditionally, an action is secured to the stock by one or two screws that pull the action directly downward into the stock. This bedding method provides rigidity on a single linear plane—up and down.

The Savage AccuStock consists of a rigid rail system firmly embedded in the stock through-out the fore-end of the rifle. Rather than unidirectionally engaging the action at one or two points, the AccuStock engages the action three dimensionally along its entire length.

There is a science to building an accurate barrel. The bulk of that science leans on specialized machinery as well as experienced operators. Savage proudly employs both. Each and every Savage centerfire barrel–from the one going on a Team Savage competitor’s F Class rifle to the one going on your kid’s first deer rifle — is checked and, if needed, hand straightened by the same skilled craftsman.

Historically, it was virtually impossible to find a factory firearm with the crisp, light trigger that hunters and target shooters demand. That all changed when Savage introduced the AccuTrigger™. The first-of-its-kind system is easily adjustable by the shooter, offers a light, clean pull with no creep, and prevents the firearm from discharging if jarred or dropped. These features have made the AccuTrigger the standard by which all modern triggers are judged.

The Savage AccuTrigger gives a shooter the flexibility to set the trigger pull to their individual preferences without having to pay a gunsmith to adjust it. Even when adjusted to its lowest setting, the AccuTrigger is completely safe. When maintained and adjusted as intended, the AccuTrigger cannot accidentally discharge during normal use, even if it is jarred or dropped.

The integrated AccuRelease must be completely depressed for the rifle to fire. While the trigger is being pulled, the AccuRelease is intentionally depressed, which unblocks the sear and allows the rifle to discharge.

Because the Savage floating bolt head is designed to allow a few thousandths of an inch of movement, it can adjust itself for a perfect fit only typically found with hand-lapped locking lugs.

One of the most critical dimensions of an accurate rifle is headspace. That’s why we set this dimension by carefully threading our barrels into place with their individual action and bolt. These three components form a hand-fit, perfectly-matched set that is locked place with a barrel locknut. We call it our “zero-tolerance” approach to headspace.

Whether you need to haul it up a mountainside or quickly get it on target

in a cramped blind, you’ll appreciate the 11/111 Lightweight Hunter’s compact,

flyweight design. The rifle boasts the same features that give Savage Arms’ best rifles their superb accuracy and

reliability, but tips the scales at a mere 5.5 or 6 pounds, depending on caliber.

Feral pig populations are exploding, but perhaps not for long with the

Savage Arms™ Hog Hunter in the mix. The rugged rifle is built around the demands of

hard-core hog hunters, including an oversize bolt handle, a tough synthetic stock and

adjustable iron sights. It also features a threaded, suppressor-ready barrel. Like other Savage rifles, the 11/111 Hog Hunter

provides pinpoint accuracy you expect.

It doesn’t matter if you actually pursue brown bears and moose in the Last

Frontier or chase other game in tough conditions anywhere. You need a rifle

Savage Arms™ 116 Alaskan Brush Hunter delivers on that pledge. It’s built

on Savage’s 110 action. The oversize bolt handle and robust iron sights allow

for fast, accurate follow-up shots.

Bears don’t present shot opportunities easily, and they die even harder. The

Savage Arms™ 16/116 Bear Hunter helps even the playing field. The heavy-duty

rifle features a stainless fluted barrel with on/off adjustable muzzle brake, along with all of our best accuracy-enhancing

features. The 16/116 Bear Hunter’s durable synthetic stock is dipped in

Female shooters aren’t simply smaller statured than their male counterparts.

They are proportioned differently. At Savage, we’ve noticed … and we like

it that way. The Savage Arms™ 11/111 Lady Hunter is all about fitting those

proportions better. Its unique stock features a raised and slanted comb, a shorter length of pull and a more

slender grip and fore-end. Additionally, and the 20-inch light-taper barrel shifts

the balance point rearward to make the rifle feel even lighter than it really is, by making it less front-heavy. It’s available in seven popular calibers to handle everything from predators to elk.

Utility. Versatility. Fun. The Savage Arms™ Model 42 is a break-action

hammer gun that combines a 22 Long Rifle or 22 WMR rifle barrel

with a 410 shotgun barrel. It provides reliable performance as a survival

firearm, trap line tool, small game firearm and more, thanks to adjustable

open sights and a tough synthetic stock the versatility that comes from

a rimfire/shotgun combination gun.

Our line of Precision Actions allow gunsmiths to use the same actions found in our Precision Target Rifles for customized firearms. The actions are available with both standard and .223 bolt heads and in three configurations: Right Bolt/Right Port, Right Bolt/Left Port, and Dual Port. The stainless Precision Target Actions also come with the Target AccuTrigger™, adjustable from 6 ounces to 2.5 pounds. When the 17 Win. Super Magnum rimfire load was under development, Savage accepted the challenge of designing an entirely new rimfire rifle from the ground up. The Savage B.Mag isn’t simply a re-chambered version of an existing platform; it’s a whole new class of rimfire rifle.

The high velocities of these new loads led us to design features into this rimfire that are typically reserved for our centerfire rifles. In order to maximize accuracy in this long-range shooter, we have utilized our unique thread-in barrel headspacing system, rear-locking lugs and a cock-on-close bolt. Of course, we would never dream of engineering an accuracy machine like the B.Mag without capping it off with our legendary, light, crisp AccuTriggerTM.
