CHALLENGE
Telecommunication providers are increasingly looking for ways to differentiate themselves from competition besides tariff pricing and network speed and coverage. Self service apps may provide a way to do so— yet all existing self service apps almost look alike and provide no real competitive edge. Vodafone was looking for innovative ideas from outside the national telecommunications market that have the potential to create an outstanding user experience for MeinVodafone users.
SOLUTION
Based on market research, client workshops and several internal brainstorming sessions, MING generated more than 40 ideas how to improve the MeinVodafone user experience. A subset of these were developed further using scribbles, wireframes and low fidelity click-prototypes. This way, MING helped Vodafone to set the direction for their 12–18 months feature roadmap.

CHALLENGE
Liefery is a new spin-off of time:matters, the Lufthansa cargo subsidiary. They are aiming to bring same-day delivery into the German market, as automised as possible through intelligent applications and back-end systems, to enable real-time tracking, as well as to optimally support the couriers on their mission.
SOLUTION
MING Labs designed and developed the website and the mobile applications for Liefery with ease of use in mind. Many stakeholders and personas were taken into account when creating this complex yet simple system to deliver operational excellence.

A usage tracking map for an OTC bond trading software in china
CHALLENGE
The Chinese OTC bond trading market is highly regulated and supervised, at the same time it is very hard to gain real insight into users and user behaviour. Sumscope wanted to understand better, where their users where located, how they use the product, how loyal they are, and so on. Both as information for investors and their customer service.
SOLUTION
MING ideated and designed a usage tracking map for Sumscope, which allows them to gain deeper insight into their exclusively Chinese user base. It aggregates user behaviour, such as loyalty and average login time, with real-time trading flows and drill-down options into every detail of the available data.

A visualization of transit andcommunication flows in Switzerland
CHALLENGE
People have been commuting for ages, however since half a decade they are also accessing the internet and mobile applications during their commute times. There are large amounts of mobility data available, but the sheer amount makes it difficult to understand how they are connected with each other.
SOLUTION
Applying smart data visualization, mobility information from different sources can be layered on top of each other. The result is an interactive map, which makes a holistic picture of mobility in Switzerland tangible and easy to understand.

Re-design of the mobile app for the largest job platform in china
CHALLENGE
As technology is maturing in China, the User Experience of the offering is becoming very central in this business as well. The challenge was to re-design Zhaopin’s iOS and Android apps completely from scratch for the Chinese market.
SOLUTION
MING Labs spent a lot of time on the Interaction Design, as the existing app had clear usability flaws and was not up to the state-of-the-art. The system had to work well for Chinese from all kinds of educational backgrounds, as well as city dwellers and rural population.

Merchants are always looking to find new clients. This can be costly, while classical marketing and advertisement tactics don‘t bring the expected benefits.
SOLUTION
Shario offers a solution which helps merchants fostering the relationships of existing clients. As merchants are most of the time not very tech-savvy, it is important to offer them a very simple and easy to handle app interface.

CHALLENGE
Organising a hobby team / league is not easy, neither is finding suitable venues to do sports. The sport community is inherently social and yet it lacks the proper tools to communicate, which are suited to its needs.
SOLUTION
Yeyu helps people, who are into sports, to find each other, connect, find venues and practice together. Inviting people to an event becomes a breeze and keeping track of ones performance adds additional value. Yeyu is the one app to go, if you are into sports.

STORM 2014 APPS AND WEBSITE
Digital for the biggest EDM festival in China.
CHALLENGE
The EDM music genre is relatively new in China and STORM is the biggest festival for it in the region. In its second year, STORM was aiming to attract more than 20.000 visitors in this market. The digital component had to both spark interest of users and educate them about EDM and festival culture.
SOLUTION
In order to spark interest and spread the word, a gamification component was designed, incentivising users to share personal information with STORM and content with their network, including a strong education component. Apps were created to easily navigate the schedule and the venue.

A cockpit voice recorder iPad app for the private aviation market CHALLENGE
Pilots often receive unclear instructions from flight controllers or just miss the instruction all together in the heat of the moment. Our researchers interviewed and observed private pilots to learn about the challenges they face, as well as their use of mobile devices during flight.
SOLUTION
MING created an app that records the aircraft radio using the mixer in the Lightspeed headset connected through its auxiliary port. Given the busy and complex environment of the cockpit, the app had to be simple. Adding a digital notepad gave the pilot an easy way to note instructions from flight controllers.

Jens Lehmann
JENSLEHMANN.COMA responsive website for the former german national goalkeeper
CHALLENGE
Jens Lehmann is well known as the former goalkeeper of the German national football team. However, most people are not familiar with his other activities, for instance in the areas of charity or coaching are even less well known.
SOLUTION
MING Labs came up with the idea to implement a concept called »The Five Faces of Jens Lehmann« to visualize the different personas of Jens with all his expertise and diverse experience. This core idea was realized by creating iconic persona pictures of Jens, which were also used as navigation elements. Overall, the page is designed to support the presentation of an entertaining mix of photography and stories from his career told with his words.

The T-Systems Automotive portfolio offers a wide range of services & solutions. It is very complex to understand in its entire breadth and depth.
SOLUTION
The 3D interactive globe allows sales people as well as customers to experience the T-Systems Automotive portfolio in playful way. The portfolio information is contextually embedded in real world scenarios and use cases.

CHALLENGE
CUPP Computing is a relatively young company in the mobile security space. Their solutions are very technical and need to be presented in a way, where CxOs and non-technical visitors can quickly understand the value they can provide.
SOLUTION
MING Labs has designed and developed a mobile-responsive website with a large amount of graphical content (full SVG), which aims to make the technology of CUPP easy to understand and tells a compelling story about the benefits it can provide.
