Washington Briefing
March 29-31, 2015 Washington Marriott | Washington, DC www.IBTTA.org/dc
chief Meeting organizer: Rob Horr, Thousand Islands Bridge Authority
The Washington Briefing is an excellent opportunity to collaborate with your colleagues on the key policy issues and challenges confronting toll agencies, concessionaires and state departments of transportation. This event brings together the who’s who in transportation and provides a forum to address critical issues with Congress and federal agencies. Past presenters have included the U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Federal Highway Administrator, key members of Congress and their staff, and senior leaders from allied associations and industries.
Transportation Finance and Road Usage Charging Conference
April 26-28, 2015 The Nines Hotel | Portland, OR www.IBTTA.org/portland
co-chief Meeting organizers: Susan Buse, CDM Smith Steve Morello, D’Artagnan Consulting LLP
America’s transportation funding system is broke and broken. This conference will explore innovative ways to fix it. As Congress struggles to restore the solvency of the federal Highway Trust Fund, states and localities are blazing new paths to generate sustainable funding for their vital transportation infrastructure. Thirty-five states now use toll financing to build and operate limited access road infrastructure. Oregon and a dozen other states are exploring road usage charging (RUC), a policy of assessing fees for the use of roadway infrastructure across an entire roadway network. Vehicle miles traveled (VMT) and mileage-based user fees (MBUF) are two other terms that refer to RUC.
Maintenance & Roadway Operations Workshop
May 31 – June 2, 2015 Oklahoma City, OK www.IBTTA.org/oklahomacity
chief Meeting organizer: Jim Wilson, TransCore, Inc.
This workshop will focus on the practical challenges confronted by maintenance and roadway operations professionals with an emphasis on performance based asset management, incident preparation and response, sustainability, resilience, internal and external communications and related issues. On the day before this conference, IBTTA will host a hands-on service project to help a local community that has suffered from storms or other calamities.
