This holiday season, give something that means something.
This year, take a break from hectic shopping—choose instead to give something that means something to people in need. This catalog offers gifts of real hope that you can give in honor of anyone on your holiday list.
Take a moment to flip through the gifts and stories inside. Then I hope you will send a meaningful—and enduring— gift of support, strength and hope to someone who needs it.

EMERGENCY FAMILY KITS for people impacted by an international disasterFamilies who have lost everything in a disaster need immediate help to make it through the first few terrifying weeks. An emergency kit provides a month of supplies for a family overseas—including a cooking set, blankets, toilet paper, toothbrushes and water containers.
EMERGENCY WATER CONTAINERS are vital when disaster strikesNatural disasters abroad often disrupt a community’s water supply, leaving survivors in danger of dehydration and disease. Water containers help families in crisis collect and store the clean, safe water that is critical to survival.
RECONNECT FAMILIES with loved ones who are missing or lostThe chaos and confusion of war, conflict or natural disaster can separate families— often for years. The Red Cross works to help find missing loved ones in order to reunite children, parents, siblings and families. You can help deliver a simple message like “I am alive” to waiting loved ones or help reunite families with this gift today.

In 1946 twins George and Lucjan were born in a UN hospital in war-torn Germany. Shortly after their birth, their mother became ill, and the boys were taken to Poland and were adopted separately, each not realizing they had a brother.
Decades later Lucjan learned through the orphanage that his mother had been searching for him, and his twin brother, until her death. Lucjan contacted the Red Cross who eventually located George. In August 2015, the brothers happily reunited after nearly 70 years apart.

Food, clothing and a place to stayfor 1 family
$ 550
EMERGENCY DEBIT CARDS provide relief when a family is left with nothing When a family’s home burns, they often lose everything they own. Providing a pre-loaded debit card helps a family impacted by disaster replace clothes, food and other essentials. It can even pay for a hotel room so they have a place to stay. Help replace what a disaster takes.
Home fires are the greatest disaster threat to American families and communities. Approximately seven people die every day from home fires, and nearly every 8 minutes the American Red Cross responds to a home fire or other disaster. Your gift helps the Red Cross reduce home fire related deaths and injuries in at-risk communities by working with volunteers, local fire departments and community partners to install smoke alarms and provide fire safety education and training.
Fire safety training and installation of:6 smoke alarms $ 903 smoke alarms $ 451 smoke alarm $ 15

HELP ENSURE THAT BLOOD IS AVAILABLE for those in needEvery two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. The Red Cross must collect 15,000 blood donations every day to meet the needs of patients at approximately 2,600 hospitals and transfusion centers across the country. Your gift today will enable us to recruit volunteer blood donors, collect and test their blood, and deliver lifesaving blood products to patients in need. Red Cross blood provides hope for patients and often means the difference between life and death.
After being diagnosed with a disorder that causes a blood cell deficiency, Becky Tyrrell from North Carolina became entirely dependent on blood transfusions. “I certainly would have died without those transfusions,” Becky recalls. “I wish I could thank every single person whose blood donation I received,” she says gratefully. “There’s nothing more important than helping save a life.” Today, Becky’s blood cell count is in the normal range and she no longer needs transfusions.Fire experts agree that people may have as little as 2
minutes to escape a burning home before it’s too late to get out. You can visit redcross.org/homefire to learn more about how to be fire safe.

You can help deliver urgent messages to service members who may need to return home during a family crisis. The Red Cross is the only organization trusted to provide verified reports of family events, such as births, illness, or deaths, enabling service members and their commanders to assess the need to return home. Help ensure military families can reach loved ones when an emergency occurs.

me and my family with support and help...and gave me
hope that things will get better.”
