2014 2015E The global mobile game revenue was $24.5 billion in 2014, and $30.1 billion in 2015.

As the largest mobile game market in the world, the revenue of Asia-Pacific market accounted for 56% of global revenue in 2015. Top 3 were China ($6.5 billion), Japan ($6.2 billion), and Korea ($1.8 billion).

The revenue of Latin America game market increased from $ 600 million to $1.1 billion, which was the biggest rise among all regions.

The simulation game, Clash of Clans by Supercell, Finland was undoubtedly the world’s most profitable game in 2015.

According to Dadaviz, it gains more than 40,000 new users each day with a daily revenue of up to 1.56 million.

Monster Strike is a physics game with elements of RPG, SLG and cooperative multiplayer developing by Japan company Mixi. Players manually control the monster to bump off of enemies to perform the largest damage. According to the latest official statistics, its cumulative DL has exceeded 30 million. Based on that, it’s estimated that by the end of 2015, its worldwide DL would reach 40 million. The MAU of Monster Strike is 82%, the DAU is 52%. The earnings of Mixi shows that the daily revenue of Monster Strike has reached $4.2 million. It surpassed Clash of Clans in September, ranking No. 1 in iOS & Google Play mobile game revenue top chart, and occupied the spot till November.

Developed by JPGungho Online, PUZ & Dragons is a PUZ+RPG. According to the latest official statistics, its domestic downloading till September broke through 38 million. Based on its monthly DL growth of 1 million, it’s estimated that by the end of 2015, its DL would reach 41 million, and worldwide DL would reach 55 million. PUZ & Dragons remained TOP 5 in 2015.

2015 iOS & Google Play Publisher Revenue

Worldwide TOP10Supercell was founded in 2010 in Finland. By the success of Hay Day and Clash of Clans, it became the most profitable publisher in App Store. With Boom Beach released in 2014, Supercell dominates the global mobile game market.

King was founded in 2003 in UK, and began to launch games in App Store and Google Play in 2011. It focuses on PUZ, and wins huge success with Candy Crush Saga. Its 2015 Q3 earnings shows that Candy Crush Saga still enjoys the largest revenue among PUZ worldwide, though it’s been released for years.

Located in Japan, Mixi focuses on the developing and operation of web, mobile and arcade games. Monster Strike, which is its first game, achieved great success once it was launched. The 2015 Q2 earnings of Mixi shows that its overall sales was 50 billion yen (3.9 times over the same period last year), and operating profit was 24.3 billion yen (5.2 over the same period last year ), among which Monster Strike took more than 90% of the sales with 15.5 billion yen per month on average.

With Clash of Clans, Boom Beach and Hay Day, Supercell remained No. 1 from January to October on 2015 publisher revenue US chart. Though declined to No. 3 in November, it’s still the winner in mobile game market.

With Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga and Farm Heroes Saga, King ranked the second on 2015 publisher revenue US chart. With the popularity of Game of War-Fire Age, Machine Zone won the first place in November.

Caesars Entertainment, Zynga, International Game Technology are companies focusing on the developing and operation of casino games. The number of casino game fans is small, and the revenue relies on hard core players. However, large casino game companies have been acquired by offline gambling companies, therefore, offline light players will contribute a lot to the revenue in the future, and casino mobile games still has potential.

7 games on the chart were IP, such as classic IP Fantasy Westward Journey, Westward Journey Online, and The King of Fighters' 98 Ultimate Match, and etc. The Journey of Flower, a newly emerging mobile game based on a TV drama, gains 1.5 billion players worldwide, it’s estimated that its revenue will be over $25 billion. High-quality IP has its own large number of audiences, which is traffic. IP formation is a long process, but video IP could become hot in short time, thus well-made and well-operated game will bring unexpected benefits in regardless of IP mobile life cycle.

With the explosive growth of mobile game market, and WCA’s official establishing it as an electronic sport in 2014, electronic sports fans increased to 89 million.
