from the Samsung Endowment

for Teaching and Learning,

established in 1995.

HOW MUCH MONEY?

Faculty Council awards up to

$40,000 annually in grants

in amounts up to $5,000.

GUIDELINES

FPG awardees are required to

produce objects, papers,

exhibitions or other tangible

results from their project.

All projects must be

documented in a one page

report and short presentation

to the College.

Only one application will be

accepted per applicant per

calendar year.

WHAT MAKES FOR A GOOD

PROJECT?

The project cannot be the

documentation of work that

has already been completed

and/or exhibited.

The project cannot be the

presentation of a paper that

has already been written or

already presented.

If the project is receiving funding from

other sources (including any part of Art

Center), this funding must be disclosed

and the proposal must identify what

the other funds will be used for in

comparison to the funds from this

grant.

The project’s execution can be

completed and presented in a

concrete way within a year of

receiving the grant.

Equipment must be clearly specific

to and required to complete the

project. Proposals that exceed

30% allocation towards equipment

must present detailed justification

for the overage.

through inspired and original

faculty projects and advances

in the fields of art or design.

Faculty Project Grants are for

all faculty members of Art

Center who:

Have taught for at least four

terms in the past two years.

Have not received a

Faculty Project Grant

in the past three years.

Faculty Council.

installments:

90% at the award of the grant.

10% after the work has been

completed and presented.

WHO DETERMINES WHO GETS

THE GRANTS?

Decisions are based solely on

the merits of each proposal.

A jury composed of five

creative professionals

representing a range of

disciplines and perspectives

review the proposals.

who does not vote on the

applications, moderates the

jury.
