The sun shines on golden rice fields. Fish splash in the glistening blue Pacific Ocean. A breeze blows gently by. Spring time in Taitung is wonderful. It is during this most pleasant time of the year that the Challenge Family, a world famous triathlon organization and originally from Europe, chose Taitung to be the venue of its triathlon.
This is the third year for the Challenge Family is hosting its event in Taitung. We are honoured to be among the twenty six venues of this event around the world. Although Taitung is one of only three cities in Asia to hold such an event, it is the only one to hold a full course event thanks to its scenic landscape, perfect facilities, and friendly citizens.
Dear friends of the Challenge Family from all over the world, thank you very much for sharing your sweat and joy with Taitung during these past two years. I sincerely welcome the athletes and their families this year. I believe the Challenge Family's third event in Taitung will continue to be successful, fruitful, and memorable.
台 東 縣 縣 長
Chief Of Taitung Count
台東縣縣長 歡迎詞Welcome message from Magistrate of Taitung County
Over the last two years running this event, I have seen how enthusiastic people are about triathlon in Taiwan, and how such events have become part of people's lives motivating them to keep up a healthy lifestyle.
With the growth of the sport and the number of athletes participating in the event, we have separated the running of the full and half distances. However, to stay true to the spirit of the Challenge Taiwan sport festival weekend, we incorporated an Olympic distance race under the brand TRI.ASIA to welcome even more athletes and their loved ones and allow them to BE A PART of the CHALLENGE Taiwan Family.
We are also happy to work with a great new partner Rudy Wolf who adds a lot of value to the organization, and Kay Trippner who brought his background as a manager to the table.
Together with the CHALLENGE Taiwan team, I wish you a great day. You have been training hard and put a lot of effort in getting here, and this Saturday all your work will come together on RACE DAY.
We would like you to share this experience together with your family and friends, and I invite you to cross the finish line with them. Then afterwards hang around, have a good time experiencing Taitung and German specialties at the finish line, celebrating your achievement and cheering for fellow athletes!
With CHALLENGE Taiwan we hope to inspire more people to bring positive change to their lives through sport.
I invite all of you to help us build this dream together. Please do not hesitate to email us at [email protected] to give us your opinion and your feedback.
Enjoy the race, enjoy the party. Together as a family we celebrate RACE DAY!
