1. Moot Court Competitions Organized:

i.4th National Moot Court Competition held on 4th October 2019 on the theme ‘Constitutional Law’, including Personal Law and International Law. The Inaugural session of the three days event was marked by the gracious presence of Hon'ble Ms. Justice Gyan Sudha Misra, Former Judge, the Supreme Court of India presided as the Chief Guest of the occasion while Mr. Akshay Rastogi, Deputy Branch Manager, Bank of Baroda, Dehradun, was present as the guest of honor. The valedictory session of the three-day event was marked by the gracious presence of Hon’ble Justice Mr. B. P. Singh, Former Justice of Supreme Court of India. The other distinguished judges of the prestigious Moot Court Competition were Hon’ble Mr. Justice V. K. Shali, Former Judge, High Court of Delhi, and Mr. Vivek Narayan Sharma, Advocate-on-Record and Joint Secretary, Supreme Court Association

ii. 3rd National Moot Court Competition held on 7th October 2018. The valedictory session of the three days event was marked by the gracious presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Swatanter Kumar, former Justice of Supreme Court of India as the Chief Guest of the occasion. The other judges of the prestigious National Moot Court Competition were Former Justice of Nainital High Court Shri Rajesh Tandon, Mr. Shammi Khan, Presiding officer, Debt Recovery Tribunal, Uttarakhand and Mr. Gagan Gupta, A.O.R. Supreme Court of India.

iii. 2nd National Moot Court Competition held on 8th October, 2017. The valedictory session of the three days event was marked by the gracious presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Rajeev Sharma of Nainital High Court, The other judges of the Moot Court Competition were Shri S. N. Babulkar, Advocate General, Uttarakhand, Shri Vijay Bhatt, Managing Trustee, Bar Council of India and Hon’ble Justice Shri B. S. Sharma, President National Consumer Redressal Forum.

i. 3rd Edition of Law College Dehradun LCD MUN- 2019, a National event with great fervor under the aegis of its Youth Parliament Society along with United Nations Information Center for India and Bhutan on 27th and 28th of April 2019. Shri Sunil Uniyal Gama, Mayor, Dehradun Municipal Corporation was the Chief Guest on the Valedictory Ceremony.

ii. 2nd Edition of Law College Dehradun LCD MUN-2018 under the aegis of its Youth Parliament Society on 8th – 10 September, 2018.

iii.1st Edition of Law College Dehradun LCD MUN-2017 under the aegis of its Youth Parliament Society on 21st – 23rd April, 2017.

iv. The second Mock parliament was organized on 19-11-2010 at the college in which a bill was introduced on the subject, ‘Sustainable Development Bill 2010’, in the benign presence of Hon’ble Mr. Harbans Kapoor, Speaker, Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha, Uttarakhand.

v. The first ever Mock Parliament was held in the college. The topic of the mock parliament was “Issue of Reservation in Higher Education Institutions”. A bill was tabled in the session of Youth Parliament against, the policies of reservation in Higher Education Institution.

3. Seminars Organized/Mock Parliaments:

i. Organized a National Seminar titled ‘Constitutional Law- Proportionality as a tool for advancing Rule of Law’ on 15th of April, 2019. The chief guest and key note speaker of the event was Hon’ble Mr. Justice A. K. Sikri, former judge of Supreme Court of India.

ii. Organized a National Seminar on ‘International Commercial Arbitration’ on 26th of March 2019. The chief guest and key note speaker of the event was Ms. Neeti Sachdeva, Secretary General of Mumbai Central for International Arbitration.

iii. Organized a National Seminar titled ‘The Indian Constitution and Future of India’ on 2nd of February, 2019. The chief guest and key note speaker of the event was Hon’ble Mr. Justice Markandey Katju, former judge of Supreme Court of India.

iv. Organized a National Seminar on ‘Gender Sensitization with reference to the Rights of Women and Children’ on 27th of March 2019. The chief guest and key note speaker of the event was Ms. Sheela Barse, Human Rights Activist and Journalist.

v. Organized a two day National Seminar on Alternative Dispute Resolution on 17th & 18th of November 2018 in association with (PACT) Peace Keeping and Conflict Resolution Team.

vi. Organized a Seminar on the subject ‘Right to Information’ in the benign presence of Late Dr. R.S. Tolia, Hon’ble Chairman of Uttrakhand Information Commission, Dr. Suchismita Sengupta Pandey, Deputy Secretary of Uttrakhand Information Commission and Hon,ble Mr. Justice K.D. Shahi (Retd.) on 25th May 2007.

i. Organised a workshop on ‘Junk Food se Jung’ on 12th of February 2020. Dr. Vipul Kandalwal, a gastro surgeon presided over the event as the key note speaker along with Dr. Deepshika, a dietician

ii. Organised a National workshop on ‘Corporate Law’ on 10th of February 2020. Chief Guest and key note speaker of the day was Mr. Saurabh Kumar, Managing partners from SK Attorneys, New Delhi

iii. Organized a workshop on Forensic Science under the expertise of Dr. Ranjeet Kr. Singh from University of Delhi on 4th of April 2019. Dr. Ranjeet Kr. Singh as an expert in Forensic Handwriting analysis, Questioned Document Examination & Finger Print Examination.

iv. Organized a workshop on the topic “Career Awareness – Judiciary and Corporate” on 9th of February 2019. Mr. Bharat Chugh, Partner Designate, Luthra & Luthra Law Offices, New Delhi was the keynote speaker of the day.

v. Organized a 2 day national workshop on ‘Legal Research Methodology’ on 21st & 22nd of November 2018. The Resource Person, DR. Himanshu Pandey Associate Professor, NLU, Nagpur as dignitaries

vi. Organized a Workshop cum Seminar on the subject ‘SOHARTHAM’ i.e. Social Harmony through Mediation in the benign presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice Dr. A.R. Lakshmanan, Chairman, Law Commission of India; Mr. Vijay Hansaria; Sr. Advocate Supreme Court of India, Mr. P.I. Jose, Advocate SC.; Mr. K. S. Bhati, Advocate SC. And Mr. K.U. Jayesh, Advocate SC on 4th July, 2007 in which Presidents, members, members of the village Panchayats, members of block committees, members of zila panchyats of 21 villages were participants besides students of Law College.

vii. Main Speaker in a Workshop for Students organized by Uttranchal State Legal Services Authority on the eve of Inauguration of The National Legal Literacy Mission on 4th December 2005 at St.Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun.

5. Conclaves Organised :

i. On April 24, 2011, the Debating Society organized another successful Conclave on Domestic Violence titled “Let Every Home be free of violence” in the premises of the College. Hon’ble Women Empowerment Minister of Uttarakhand Mrs Vijaya Barthwal was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Mrs. Sushila Baluni, Chairperson, Women Commission of Uttarakhand, Ms. Ravindri Manderwal, Protection Officer, Dehradun, Dr. Rajesh Bahuguna, Principal, Law College Dehradun were the Resource persons. Mrs. Asha Dhyani, Secretary, Women Commission, Uttarakhnad, Dr. Shashi Prabha, Prof. D.A.V.(P.G.) College, Mrs Sujata, Programme Officer, Mrs. Sadhna Sharma, Sr. Journalist, and Mrs Beena Bahuguna, Founder, Mahila Uthan Samiti, Dehradun were the experts on the Panel. Students of various colleges of the State participated in the event.

ii. A conclave on Consumer Protection on 10th April, 2010 at premises of Law College Dehradun in the benign presence of Hon’ble Mr. Justice S. K. Jain, Chairman, Public Services Tribunal, Uttarakhand.
