2015-16 COLUMBIA CENTER FOR THE ARTS

2015-16 was a major transitional year for Columbia Center for the Arts. Celebrating

our 10-year anniversary, we took stock of our first decade of delivering art

experiences to the communities of the Gorge, and focused on best practices to refine, expand, and elevate our offerings in all art forms, including theatre, dance,

music, film, lectures, presentations, classes, and visual arts.

Thank you to all our 2015-16 donors for your generosity, and for appreciating

and supporting the importance of art in the lives of the members of our Gorge communities. Thank you also to all who

served on committees, volunteered, and attended art shows, classes, and

performing arts programs.

“Art enables us to find ourselves and lose ourselves at the same time.” –Thomas Merton

In 2016 we introduced our poTENtial Program Series: ten events featuring literary arts, comedy, visual arts, theatre, film, cultural arts, photography, music, dance, and performance.

In the Gallery we welcomed over 14,000 visitors to our monthly themed art exhibitions.

Kids and adults enjoyed art classes and workshops, including Fearless Art for Beginners, Summer Art Experiences for kids, and Writing Up the Gorge.

CAST live theatre lit up the stage with a season that included musicals, dramas, comedies, and a staged reading.
