The Outlook
Glenn’s Corner
This time of year always brings back won-derful memories from my childhood. Unlike many of you at First Christian, all my relatives lived away from King in Pitt county, NC or in New Jersey. We spent quite a few hours travel-ing during holidays to see relatives. I can always remember going to New Jersey because it took so long to get there. Mom would make peanut butter crackers and sandwiches for the trip. Plenty of fruit and tea in a thermos. We never stopped except to get gas along the way. There were no interstates back then, only US 1. Getting close to Bridgeton only brought on more excitement. We would drive down State Route 49 in southern New Jersey while my Dad told us places where his relatives lived that I neither knew nor had met. He was just as excit-ed as I was. By the time we finally reached Bridgeton, I couldn’t wait to turn the corner to my grand-parent’s house. It was a big two story house that stood beside my grandpa’s car dealership. Between it and the dealership there were plenty of rooms, attics and closets to be explored and visited. All the Mechanics loved to see us boys coming and commented on how tall we had grown. They would show me the next big engine under an Olds 98 as they were changing the oil or repairing a motor. I realize I had a great childhood that many of you and thousands of people all over the world never experienced. This Christmas and Thanksgiving may we remember that no matter what our upbringing, whether it was wonderful like I was privileged to have or you had no parents who cared. God came in the form of a baby to live a life just as we have, so that you and I are now called sons and daughters of God. 1 John 3:1 See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! Gal 4:7 So you are no longer a slave, but God’s child. Have a great Christmas knowing you are loved and part of a family. Love in Christ, Glenn
Luke’s Letter to the Flock
This has been a great few months! Now it is time for fall and the holidays. Wow life just moves so fast. But God can make all things wonderful if you take the time to let Him lead. I want to say thank you to all the adults and spon-sors who helped us go to the beach retreat! It was a very short but wonderful weekend. Without your help that trip would not happen, so thank you. The students had a blast! Also thank you to those of you who have supplied food and treats for the teens over the past few months for Wednesday nights, Sunday nights, and other events. These kids love to eat and you helped out a ton. Please stay on your students and have them here around Godly friends and models this fall season and through the holidays. It gets super busy but they need each other for love and support. There are lots of things coming up in the next few months. So please make sure you are looking in the bulletin for announcements, looking at the welcome center for sign-ups, and asking me if you have any questions. Stay plugged in and let God do the work this holiday season.

CHILDREN’S Corner from Peter
Wow, can you believe it, Thanksgiving and Christmas are just around the corner? This year has flown by. I am so excited about this time of year as we celebrate the birth of our Savior and give thanks for all that we have and all that He has done for us.
For the month of November I want to encourage the Music Makers & Cherubs to be present for all practices as you get ready for the Christmas program. Also in November during Children’s church we will be doing special projects to help the Ladies group as they prepare care packages for our sick and shut-in.
On Sunday, December 6, we will be having our annual Christmas party and breakfast in the Backyard. This is for nursery through 5th grade. The Cherubs and Music Makers Choirs will present their Christmas program on Friday, December 11 @ 7pm and again on Sunday, December 13 @ 10:30am. What a blessing this will be! We will join the whole church on Wednesday, December 16 to go Christmas caroling. This is always such a fun time.
I pray that God will bless you and your family during this holiday season! _______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

Good News Productions Good News Productions Inc produces culturally
relevant, Biblically based content in digital, video, and print format to accelerate global evangelism. GNPI helps people access the Gospel in their native language in a way
they can understand.
GNPI is a non-profit organization that accelerates global evangelism through media. Ziden Nutt founded GNPI in
1976. Ziden experienced firsthand on the mission field the desperate need for missionaries and nationals to have cul-
turally relevant Biblical resources. As a result, Ziden began producing simple filmstrip series using language and
images from the local culture.
Today, nearly four decades later, GNPI works through regional centers and NOMaD teams throughout the world. GNPI creates culturally relevant materials to serve the 80% of people in the unreached world who cannot read or prefer
visual materials.
