Street System Characteristics

190 lane miles and over 2.7million square yards of pavement in Evanston

94% asphalt surface 6% concrete surface Streets are evaluated every five (5) years

2007 Five-Year Street Improvement Program: completed in 2012

2013 and 2014 Program: based on water main priorities, street conditions, aldermanic tours and funding availability.

Update four year plan (2014 to 2017) will be presented to the City Council in spring of 2014.

Minor Patching and Crack Filling Grinding & surface overlay (Maintenance) Grinding, minor base repair, surface

overlay, spot curb and gutter (Neighborhood Streets)

Grinding, thicker overlay, major base repair, block curb and gutter (Arterial Roads)
