A Walk Down Memory LaneA former Ocean Alexander owner recently sold his Ocean Alexander 390 Sun Deck that he bought new in 1988. He loved his Ocean Alexander so much that he wanted something more than just photos to preserve the memories. He got in touch with us to provide him with any sketches and luckily we had some basic profile line drawings that helped the model maker complete the beautiful project. !A few months later he emailed us when the model was complete. He said, “it took some time to develop the hull shape…it certainly has the character of our boat. It will bring back happy memories of our time in Greece.” !The owner was gracious enough to provide us with a photo of his boat in Greece and a couple of shots of the completed model made by Premier Ship Models (www.premiershipmodels.com). After over 25 years, the boat still looks incredible! !We love hearing stories like this from our owners. If you have a story you’d like to share, please email us at [email protected].

2013 SALESAfter a record-breaking

summer culminating in the sale of NINE new Ocean Alexander yachts ranging from the Ocean Alexander 72 all the way up to the Ocean Alexander 90, our excellent sales team managed to close out 2013 with a bang!

Chris June from Ocean Alexander of F lor ida , in co l l a b or a t i on w i t h Br i a n Commette of Northrop & J o h n s o n , s u c c e s s f u l l y completed the transaction for the sale of the Ocean Alexander 120 Tri-Level Megayacht in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

This is the first Ocean Alexander yacht purchased by the new owners and they are impressed with our build partnership with Christensen

Yachts, Ltd. This experienced yachting family plans to take the yacht immediately to the C a r i b b e a n t o e n j o y t h e re m a i n d e r o f t h e w i n t e r cruising season.

Afterwards, they will take t h e O A 1 2 0 t o t h e Mediterranean for the summer season.

In addition, Ray Prokorym from Ocean Alexander’s Seattle office recently completed the o r d e r f o r a n e w O c e a n Alexander 78 Motoryacht.

This OA 78 order is the customer’s second new Ocean Alexander and his first factory order. The new 78 motoryacht with the sky lounge option was the right configuration he was looking for in a new vessel. He

was very pleased with the experience owning his first OA, a 68 motoryacht. The boat performed to his satisfaction and the sales and service s u p p o r t e x c e e d e d h i s expectations.

Ordering a new OA 78 has given the family an opportunity to use their considerable cruising experience to ensure s m a l l b u t i m p o r t a n t , p e r s o n a l i z e d d e t a i l s a re integrated into the new build.

Lastly, JR Wills from Ocean Alexander’s California office also secured a new order for an O c e a n A l e x a n d e r 7 2 Motoryacht. This is the second custom order for this owner; his first was an OA 62 that he took delivery of just a year ago.

T h e o w n e r h a s enjoyed cruising in Mexico so much with his OA 62, he decided he wanted m o r e s p a c e t o accommodate longer v o y a g e s . H e especially liked the galley layout with the island on theThe Ocean Alexander 120 will be cruising with her new owners in the Mediterranean this summer.

O A 7 2 , a l l o w i n g f o r incredible interior volume in the galley and pilothouse area. They anticipate taking delivery in fall of 2014.

O v e r a l l , b o t h c o a s t s celebrated another strong year. Ocean Alexander of Florida closed on 30 yachts ranging from b r o k e r a g e t o n e w O c e a n Alexander yachts. There was a total of 20 brokerage closings for yachts valued together at almost $17.5 million.

The two west coast offices closed 40 yacht deals, which means that they almost sold one boat each week! Of those deals, t h e r e w e r e 2 8 b r o k e r a g e transactions for a combined market value of $17.3 million.

As of the first week of January, there are already seven pending sales including two new Tiara orders. They currently have over 30 brokerage listings valued at $28.6 million. !

To celebrate the strong sales, the west coast offices presented awards to the top performing yacht brokers. Niel Steenkamp, from Seattle, won the award for Top Overall Yacht Consultant for highest sales including new and used yachts. Paul Groesbeck, also from our Seattle location, received the award for Top Revenue Producer in Brokerage. !!!

Ocean Alexander of Florida Hosts Themed Lunches A boat sale often is the combined efforts of everyone in a sales office. From the receptionist who warmly greets the client, to the knowledgeable broker who finds the dream yacht for his buyer, to our service manager arranging sea trials. Each member of our office brings a valuable skill to provide the best buying and selling experience for our customers. In celebration of that crucial team work, when the Florida office closes on a large yacht sale, the office holds a themed lunch for staff and family. Seattle Office Celebrates the Holidays with a NY Flair Most may not be aware that the west coast VP of Sales, Ray Prokorym, is not a Seattle native and is a

hard-core NY Jets fan. Since the Seattle Seahawks were doing so well this season, and the Jets were knocked out of the Play-offs, the team at Seattle decided to surprise Ray at their Christmas party with a hidden theme.

When Ray stepped out of the party temporarily, everyone quickly threw on their Jets T-shirts. To say that he was surprised would be an understatement. The night was filled with great food, fun surprises (everyone brought photos of themselves from much younger days), and even better company. Overall, a great evening to cap off a tremendous year.

4TH QUARTER BOATOcean Alexander yachts were on display across the

2013 Seattle Boats Afloat Show The busy year-end boat show season kicked off in

Seattle on September 11th, with the Boats Afloat Show on Lake union. In addition to the four yachts on display in the show, the local Seattle office also had 12 more yachts open for tours in front of their conveniently located Lake Union office. By the second day of the show, we already had an offer and

a sales pending! In addition to the yachts for sale, our tent also included items from the OA Collection for purchase. The weather was beautiful throughout and the show was a great success.

2013 Lido Yacht Expo Following quickly down in Newport Beach,

on September 26th, OA held another fantastic exhibit at The Lido Yacht Expo. As always, we take pride in our set-up and kept our standards high with our display showcasing a 72’ Marquis, 70’ OA, 70’ Viking and 54’ OA. The traffic was good and the weather was great! It was a successful show and we are already planning for the Spring 2014 show with the debut of our brand new 2014 85’E Ocean Alexander. This boat is a beauty and you can see preliminary specifications and sister-ship photos on our website.

SHOW RECAPU.S. and even Down Under.

2013 Gold Coast International Marine Expo Ocean Alexander reentered the Australian market in 2013 and continues to build brand awareness with entries into major boat shows. The Ocean Alexander 72 Motoryacht was on display at the Gold Coast International Marine Expo in the first week of November.

While rebuilding a brand in a market can be a time-consuming effort, we are excited at the prospects and growth. More brand awareness ultimately benefits our yacht owners as a world-wide recognized brand has a much better chance for value-retention.

2013 Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show Touted as the largest in-water boat show in the world, Ocean Alexander was proud to exhibit again at

the 54th annual Ft. Lauderdale International Boat Show that began on October 31st. With four yachts on display from a new Ocean Alexander 72 to the Ocean Alexander 120 Megayacht, the Ocean Alexander display was able to showcase a wide range of our product line.

The show covered six locations with more than 3 million square feet of space. “From astonishing super-yachts to fishing boats, runabouts and boats for every budget, the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show delivers the excitement of boating for any lifestyle.”

We’re already busy making plans for the upcoming show in Ft. Lauderdale and can’t wait to reveal what we hope to debut at this show.
