Andrew Jesus MendozaAndrew Mendoza is the son of Jesus and Jessica

Mendoza. Andrew moved to Hugoton from GuymonOk. his sophomore year. Andrew attributes the moveas the greatest impact he had in high school, becauseit gave him the opportunity to play football.

Some of Andrew’s favorites include his fourthgrade teacher Mrs. Hamilton, the movie “Friday NightLights”, rap and country music, the song “Lace Up”,and the book “City Rose”.

Andrew treasures playing sports with all his friendsbut realizes he should have worked harder on his stud-ies and sports.

Plans for his future include attending HutchinsonCommunity College to attain a Fire Science degree tobecome a fire fighter.

Austin Mikel HarperAustin Mikel Harper, son of Lynette and Dennis

Hageman and Barry and Nanine Harper, enjoysrock and country music and the movies “Kickass”and “Kickass 2.” Austin admires his Grandma Dar-lene because she is very ornery, very funny, and shegives good advice.

Some of Austin’s favorites from school are histeachers Mr. Mahan and Mr. Waters and goinghome Fridays. The best thing that happened wasattending Seward County Community College as asenior in the Vo-Tech program. Although Austin isnot sure about his future he is sure he will continueat SCCC to finish the class he started.

Ethan J. PersingerSenior Ethan Persinger is the son of Ben Persinger

and Jola Taylor. Some of Ethan’s favorites includeCarl Sagan’s book “Into the Cosmos”, the song “BadWings” by the Glitch Mob; the movie “The BoondockSaints” and Mr. Waters.

Ethan admires Marshall Mathers for helping himthrough some hard times. He tells us something heremembers most about school is the “annoying bells”.If he could have “do overs” it would be to wake upearlier and get to school better. The event impactinghigh school for him was when someone ran into hisparked car.

Ethan plans to continue his Vo-Tech training andopen an autobody shop. He would also like to visitTokyo, Japan just to see the latest technology.

Michael William LoseySenior Michael Losey is the son of Bill and

Joyce Losey. Michael admires his mother becauseshe has always supported him in what he did.

Some of Michaels’ favorites include the book“Charlie Bone”, the song “Don’t Stop Believing”by Journey, 80’s music, the Batman Trilogy, and Mr.Moore.

Something Michael remembers most aboutschool was the last bell of the day. He believes thegreatest impact in high school was theDrafting/CAD classes taught by Mr. Moore – givinghim something he can use for life. Michael says ifhe could change anything about high school itwould be to condense it (high school) to one yearinstead of four.

Michael plans to attend SCCC and major in ar-chitect design then perhaps after graduation he cango fishing in the place of his dreams – Alaska.

Denver L. KnoxDenver Knox is the son of Floyd E. Knox and

Joan Layman. Denver’s favorites include the book“Beastly Alex Flinn”, all kinds of music and Mr.Hawley. His best memories are from ScholarsBowl.

Denver would like to visit Greece just for thefood. He plans to attend college so he can teach sci-ence.

Brady Scott HegerSenior Brady Heger is the son of Darin and

Michelle Heger. Brady plans to attend junior col-lege after high school and then follow in his Dad’sfootsteps and become a farmer/rancher.

Some of Brady’s favorites include the song“Night Train” by Jason Aldean, country music, themovie “Hotrod”, and Mr. Rome.

Brady admires his dad because of all the accom-plishments he’s had and the help he has given him.

His best memories at HHS were woods classwith Mr. Rome and Mr. McNally’s class. I n the future Brady would like to visit Hawaii be-cause it seems nice and beautiful.

Anna Mae RomeSenior Anna Rome is the daughter of Lisa and

Keith Rome. Anna tells us the person she admiresmost is her Aunt Diane because she gave all shecould and always tried to put a smile on Anna’s face.

Her best memories at HHS include playinggames or the fun activities in sixth hour for a grade.If she could change anything about her high schoolcareer it would be to have stayed active. Thebiggest impact of high school was taking CNA, re-ceiving her license, and getting a job at PioneerManor which helped point her towards her future.

Anna’s plans for the future include going to atwo year college, getting her RN and then settlingdown, working and starting a family.

Anna’s favorites include the book “Island of theDolphins”, the song “Friday Night” by Eric Paslay,country music, scary movies, and teachers CoachNech, Richard Rome, and Coach O. Anna hopes tobe able to visit Greece because it looks so beautifulin pictures.

Maria Fernanda VeraBadillo

“Ferny,” as most call her, is the daughter ofGabriela Badillo. Ferny’s favorites include thebook “Tears of a Tiger”, the song “The Thrill” byWiz Kalifha, rap music, the movie “ATL”, and Mrs.Sosa. Ferny admires her mother most because afterall she’s been through, she still has a smile on herface.

Her best memories include going to OPSU forart and the seminar parties her junior year. If shecould change anything about school it would be thelunches. The greatest impact in high school forFerny was losing a close friend – it made her realizelife is too short to not live it to the fullest.

Ferny’s plans for the future include going toSCCC and owning her own business. Some dayshe would like to visit India because they have niceplaces to take picture.

Maverick Douglas MillsMaverick Mills is the son of Matt and Kyla

Mills. Maverick’s favorites include the book “TheHobbit”, Christian music, “The Star Wars Saga” andthe internet. He tells us the person he admires mostis Taylor Lautner – why not?

The biggest impact in high school for Maverickwas being a part of the baseball program.

Maverick’s plans for the future are to attendKansas State University and hopefully “WorldPeace”.

Yessenia ReyesYessenia Reyes is the daughter of Jose and

Frances Reyes. Her favorites include the book“When She Went Away”, the song “My LittleBird” by Ed Sheeran, country and hip-hopmusic, movies “Rocky Horror Picture Show”and “Grease”, and teachers Mrs. Leeper andMrs. Crawford.

She admires her sister Raquel because she isstrong and always willing to help – “I can askher for anything,” Yessenia says.

Her favorite memories at HHS are her fresh-man year with all the seniors and College Biowith Mrs. Crawford. She says she wouldn’tchange anything but realizes she should havebeen more involved her freshman and sopho-more years.

Her plans for the future include attending acommunity college, majoring in OccupationalTherapy and perhaps being able to travel to Ja-maica again because she didn’t enjoy it the firsttime as much as she should have.

Taryn Elise GarzaTaryn Elise Garza is the daughter

of Nacaria Nancy Hines. Her fa-vorites include the book “The ScarletLetter”, song “The Way”, all types ofmusic, the movie “Titanic”, and MissLacy.

Someday she would like to travel toSpain where her ancestors are from.The person she admires most is hermom because she is the strongest,most hardworking and kindest per-son she knows.

Her best memories of high schoolwere sports and the greatest impact

was meeting a coach in North Carolina who helped her be the person and player she is today. If she could change anything about high school it would be to strive to get straight A’s. Plans for Taryn

include going to Dodge City Community College to play shortstop in softball for the Lady Conqs thencontinuing her education to become a surgeon.

Logan Mark RomeroLogan Mark Romero is the son of Tommy Romero Jr.

Logan says he likes all types of movies and music and hastons of songs he likes. His favorite teachers are the oneswho passed him.

His greatest impact in high school was following in hisgrandfather’s footsteps by becoming a fire fighter.

The person he admires most is his Grandpa Tom - thefirefighter - because he taught him all kinds of life lessons.

Logan’s plans for the future are enlisting in the UnitedStates Army and becoming a dentist . He hopes in the fu-ture to visit Fiji so he can ride a dolphin.

Nicholas A. FrederickNicholas Frederick is the son of Tom and Sue

Frederick. Nicholas lists his favorites as the book“Lone Survivor” by Marcus Littrell, the song“Something About That” by Tim McGraw, countrymusic, the movie “Remember the Titans” and Mrs.Fann. He admires his parent because they are alwaysthere for me.

The most memorable event at HHS for Nicholaswas going 21-2 in baseball his junior year. Thegreatest impact in high school for him was breakinghis back forcing him to work hard and never give up.If he could change anything about high school itwould have been being able to play a full season offootball his junior and senior year.

Future plans for Nic include going to college tobecome a D.O., then perhaps after college he canvisit Hawaii because it is totally awesome.

Brady G. MarshallBrady Marshall is the son of Bobby and Bridget

Marshall. Brady’s favorites include the song“Ready, Set, Roll” by Chase Rice, country music,the movie “Despicable Me”, and teachers Mr.Rome, Mrs. Crawford, and Mrs. Sosa.

The person he admires the most is his mom be-cause she is always there for him and raised him tobe the person he is today.

His memories of high school are participating inthe K-State Concert Band Clinic and National FFAconventions. The greatest impact in his life was se-curing a job at Southwest Fresh Potato and decidinghis future would be in Ag Business. Brady is oneof HHS’s five State Farmers in FFA.

Plans for Brady are to attend Seward CountyCommunity College with an Ag Scholarship thentransfer to K-State for a degree in Ag-Business. Atsome point he would like to visit Ireland because itlooks cool on the map.

Memories of Victor’s high school years willcenter around football games. If he could changeone thing about high school it would be the one Bhe received each year. The biggest impact of highschool was entering his senior year and realizing heonly had one year left.

Plans for the future include going to GardenCity Community College for a year and then trans-ferring to a university to finish his college. Thenin the distant future he could travel to Rome be-cause it looks cool.

David MichaelKurt

David Michael Kurt is theson of Dave and ShelleyKurt. David’s favorites in-clude, “The Bible”, song“Dust in the Wind”, Indiemusic, the movie “Zoolan-der” and Mr. Bridge.

He admires Meagan Haw-ley because she sacrifices herbest years to help others intheir worst. His memories of

high school are about howmuch he didn’t like to study but if he could change anything about high school it would have beento run cross country for all four years! His greatest impact of high school was meeting Erin Perry.

David’S future includes going to Oklahoma Christian College to study electrical engineering andto graduate as a biomedical engineer. After college perhaps he can visit his dream destination Pariswhere it is culturally exceptional.

Kelsey Jordan QuillenKelsey Jordan Quillen is the daughter of Deanna

Quillen and Bryan Quillen. She admires her mombecause she has always been there for her and sup-ported her in all her decisions. Some of Kelsey’s fa-vorites include the book “Someone Like You” bySarah Dessen, billboard top 100 songs, and Mrs.Crawford. Her favorite memories include marchingin band at football games, and attending FBLA andNHS activities. She really wouldn’t change any-thing about high school because she enjoyed it as itwas. Her greatest impact from high school wasbeing FBLA President for two years and being inNHS.

Future plans for Kelsey include attending col-lege for culinary arts and becoming a pastry chef.After college she would like to find a good job andeventually open her own bakery, find a man, getmarried, and have children. Someday she wouldlike to travel to Ireland to see its beauty and castles.

Chase Clinkingbeard is the son of Shon andKim Clinkingbeard. Chase tells us his favorites arethe song “Here’s to the Good Times”, countrymusic, the movie “Shooter” and Mr. Schechter. Hewill always remember all the friends he hung outwith in high school.

If he could have do-overs, he would choose toattend more activities. Chase’s future includes at-tending Seward County Community College to be-come an Agronomist – Crop Consulting.

After finishing college perhaps he can travel toLas Vegas to have a good time!

Luis E. SanchezLuis E. Sanchez is the son of Enrique and Clau-

dia Sanchez. Favorites for Luis include the booksand movies Harry Potter Series, the song “Viva LaVida” by Coldplay, rock music and Mrs. Fann. Luisadmires his dad because he is very supportive andis a very smart person.

His memories include homecomings and thebasketball “Rowdy Crowd”. If he could changesomething about high school he would solve his pro-crastination problems. His greatest impact wasbeing involved in different activities, allowing himto meet new people and make more friends.

In the future Luis will attend Wichita State Uni-versity and major in Aerospace Engineering. Atsome point Luis would like to visit Japan or Italy tosee the different cultures.

Kelsey Janay HittleKelsey Janay Hittle is the daughter of Kerry and

Kelly Hittle. Kelsey’s favorites include “A ChildCalled It”, country and hip hop music, the movies“Taken” and “Pitch Perfect”, and Coach O’. She ad-mires her parents because they are both amazingparents and support anything she does.

She will always remember sports and makingmemories with friends in high school. The greatestimpact in high school was listening to Brad Hearonspeak about his horrific choice that almost took hislife.

Future plans for Kelsey include attending ThePaul Mitchell Cosmetology School in Wichita, grad-uating, moving to Colorado and owning her ownbusiness.

Eventually she would like to visit Australia to seesomething different.

Logan T. FrederickLogan T. Frederick is the son of Ted and Brenda

Frederick. Logan lists his favorites as The HardeyBrothers, song “All” by Justin Bieber, countrymusic, the movie “White House Down” and Mrs.Fann.

He admires his dad for being a hard worker andfinishing everything he starts. His memories andimpact from HHS were being involved in sports.

Logan plans to attend Fort Hays State Universityand graduate with a degree in Justice. Some day hewould like to visit Hawaii to see the scenery.

Roger Oswaldo Figueroa –Saucedo

Roger Oswaldo Figueroa – Saucedo is the son ofBerenice Saucedo and the late Sergio Figueroa. His fa-vorites include the book “Safe Haven”, songs “Applause”,“We Can’t Stop”, “Wrecking Ball”, “Donatella” and“Gypsy”, hip-hop, rap, country and Hispanic music, themovies “The Call”, “Lifted”, and “Safe Haven”, and teach-ers Mrs. Rogers, Mrs. Hernandez, and Mrs. Gaskill. H eadmires his mother for being a great single mother after thedeath of his dad. Roger’s memories include the annoyingstudents and bad school lunches, but he has some of thebest memories ever from high school. He regrets he didn’tget more involved and his greatest impact was coming backto school the first day of his senior year and realizing thiswas it and cherishing every moment of his senior year.

Roger plans to attend Johnson County Community Col-lege in Overland Park for a degree in fashion design and inthe future have his own clothing line. He would like to visitRussia because he has always wanted to.

Elizabeth Ann Johnson

Elizabeth Ann Johnson is the daughter of Matt andNancy Johnson. She lists as her favorites the Harry Potterseries, song “Holding On” by Jamie Grace, country music,the movie “Sweet Home Alabama” and Coach O’. She ad-mires Patty Bultman for always being kind and willing tohelp anyone no matter what.

Her memories of high school include cheering at foot-ball games, pre-perfomance speeches during musicals, andplaying hangman in Coach O’s seminar. If she couldchange anything about high school it would be balancingschool and fun with getting more sleep!

The biggest impact of her life was when her best friendCelsey moved to Arkansas. Elizabeth plans to attend Okla-homa State University, graduate college and travel theworld hopefully stopping in Greece to see the beautifuloceans, landscape, and architecture.

Adam Lee ScottAdam Lee Scott is the son of Stuart and Susan

Scott. Adam is a huge fan of Sherlock Holmes sto-ries, classical music and the movie “Gladiator.” Headmires his father because he is intelligent andovercomes many difficult problems.

Adam says he has no regrets about high schooland is looking forward, not back. His biggest im-pact was visiting K-State, seeing the college envi-ronment and engineering department that made himdecide where he wanted to go to college and studyengineering. His plans for the future include at-tending K-State and majoring in Mechanical Engi-neering.

Some day he would like to visit the Smithsonianand historical places in Rome.

Jeison H. Rodriguez MontielJeison Rodriguez is the son of Araceli and Jaime

Rodriguez. Jesison lists his favorites as “Clifford theBig Red Dog”, the song “End of the Road” by MGK,country and hip-hop music, and Mr. Szymczak. Headmires his mom because she is always there for him.

His best memories at HHS include getting to playsports with all his friends, and if he could change any-thing he would have put more effort into his sports.The biggest impact of high school was being selectedan All –Tournament Player at the Colby Tournament.

For the future Jeison plans to attend college, grad-uate and move to Denver. At some time he would liketo visit Hawaii because it has a lot of new things.

Yates Allen SuttonYates Allen Sutton is the son of Todd and Anita Sut-

ton. A quiet person, Yates lists country music and themovie “The Town” as his favorites.

He admires his parents for all the things they havedone for him. His best memories from HHS are beinginvolved in sports and his moment of greatest impactwas winning League in baseball his junior year.

Yates plans to attend college then get a job.

Takoda Marcus EckertTakoda Marcus Eckert is the son of Emily Pe-

terson and Marcus Eckert. Takoda lists his fa-vorites as the book “The Inheritance Cycle”, song“Country Boy” by Aaron Lewis, country music,the Austin Powers movies and Mr. Rodriguez. Headmires his great grandpa Carl Eckert because hewas the toughest man, as well as an “ornery gen-tleman”.

His memories of HHS are the cross countrydinners and the support he received from the com-munity. If he could change something about HHSit would be to decrease the changes every year.

The greatest impact for Takoda was the Christin You trips during the summer. They showed himwho he is and what he is here for.

Takoda plans to attend K-State and major inComputer Engineering. After graduation he wantsto find a job in software or hardware engineering.

Alondra Yurida ArmendarizMuniz

Alondra Armendariz is the daughter of Rosa andJulio Armendariz. Alondra admires her parents be-cause they are always there for her through thickand thin. Some of Alondra’s favorites include thebook “A Child Called It” the song “Wrecking Ball”,any kind of music, the movie “Safe Haven” andMrs. Waters.

The biggest impact for Alondra in high schoolwere the speakers who came and talked to studentsabout their lives like Brad Hearon.

Alondra plans to go to college, finish and find agood job for her and her baby.

Krysta K. HinesKrysta K. Hines is the daughter of Kathy J.

Hines and Chris D. Hines. High on Krysta’s list isher mom, because she puts her heart into every-thing she does.

Krysta’s memories at HHS center around play-ing in the pep band at basketball games. Her fa-vorites include the book “A Child Called It”, thesong “Party in the USA” by Miley Cyrus, popmusic, the movie “The Proposal” and Mrs. Craw-ford.

Krysta plans to attend Garden City CommunityCollege, graduate and start a family. Some day shewould like to visit Paris to see the Eiffel Tower.

Chalen R. TalbertChalen R. Talbert is the son of Ray and Bobbi

Talbert. Chalen admires his cousin James Hale forbeing a big brother figure and always making himbetter. James, as well as Chalen’s uncle, have beena big influence for Chalen, as they encouraged himto join the US Army Reserves.

Gooch. Kole has great memories of band, cross coun-try and track while at HHS. Alfonso Villa-DelgadoAlfonso Villa Delgado is the son of Ricarda Del-

gado and Edward Gomez. Alfonso tells us he ad-mires several people around him but truly admireshis mother for being a great role model in many as-pects.

The greatest impact in life for Alfonso has beenmoving from Mexico to the United States when hewas ten. With this move, a new family was formed,and he now has four little stepsisters. The highlightof his life was being a part of Hugoton High School.One of Alfonso's favorite teachers is Mrs. Nordykebecause of all the support she has given him.

In the future he plans to attend a community col-lege and then transfer to Fort Hays State University.He would like to become a chef and open his ownrestaurant. If he gets a chance he would like to visitChina.
