POLLARDHISTORY

A young engineer trained at the Arts and Métiers engineering School, Jean POLLARD filed the patent which would see the birth of the "CMtec" technology pump in the mid‐1940s. The first factory, built close to Paris, was soon running and the first clients were the Railways, manufacturers of machine tools and the steel industry. In 1963, the factory was transferred to Sanary in the South of France, between Toulon and Marseille. For 35 years the company developed under the management of Jean POLLARD who left the company for health reasons in 1976. The Pollard brand became a reference in the world of the industrial volumetric pump.  In 1997 the current management took over the company, and since then it has developed the three following product ranges:                  ‐ a range of pumps and motor‐pumps                 ‐ a range of drum drainers                 ‐ a range of special products  The company's current strategy puts the emphasis on commercial reactivity in response to French or international demand and on the ability of our design office to adapt our products technically, if necessary, to meet clients' specific requirements.             

  Inaugurated in 2004, the brand new factory at Signes (Var) with its modern production equipment and optimised systems (ISO 9001) has allowed us to increase production capacity and to achieve delivery times for all the range that are among the shortest in the industry.

Our development strategy is based on our ability to develop products rapidly in cooperation with the client to perfectly meet his needs. Our design office's mission is the technical adaptation of our pumps to tailor them to the client's specific requirements.  We develop "niche" markets by automating or sometimes simplifying even previously manual functions.   

Below a few examples of pumps tailor‐made by our design office:   

Special motor‐pumps for supplying diesel to locomotives for passenger transport. 

Atex Motor‐pumps with packing sealing to transfer chemical products within painting machines. 

Micro‐Motorpumps with high rotation speeds, special compact design, for the lubrication, immersed or not. 

 Special pumps used to pump worn oil within industrial friers. 

Coupling of two hydraulic pumps with different flow rates and pressures onto the same motor‐pump. 

Special pumps for water plus glycol, highly silencious and with magnetic coupling, used in the cooling down process of machining tools.

MANUEL DRUM DRAINER

• These drum drainer pumps are for use in decanting oils, hydrocarbons and similar products. They are self‐priming. • They are fitted with Viton seals for compatibility with numerous products • They allow the pumping of fluid or thick and pasty products • Their robust construction (steel and cast iron) guarantees a long service life • Their capacity is approximately 20 liters per minute. 

The pump may be supplied alone or with the suction tube and the discharge elbow.

TROLLEY DRUM DRAINER

These are mobile supply drum drainers equipped with pumps for the decanting of oils, hydrocarbons and other similar products. They are self‐priming for viscosities up to 10 000 cSt. They enable drums with 2" bungs to be emptied completely. The trolley may be used alone to move drums around the warehouse. Capacity up to 90 liters per minute.

DRUM DRAINER FOR FLUID PRODUCTS

These pumps are for use in transferring fluid products with viscosities of 2000 cSt such as oil, hydrocarbons or similar products. They are lightweight, easy‐to‐handle drum drainers (less than 20kg). Easy to use and designed for intensive use, they are robust and offer excellent value for money. Thanks to the trigger‐operated gun the operator can accurately control the quantity transferred. Capacity up to 20 liter/minute.

DRUM DRAINER FOR HIGH VISCOUS PRODUCTS

These pumps are for use with thick, high viscosity products such as emulsifiers, paint, resin or similar products. They are very simple, drum drainers offering low‐risk handling. Designed for intensive use, they are robust and give excellent value for money. The pumping unit is at the bottom of the tube, allowing immediate priming and a regular flow. Capacity up to 40 liter/minute

PNEUMATIC DRUM DRAINER

This system for fully opening drum is used to transfer high viscosity products, even those with no flow capacity such as grease, lubricants, glues, silicones, inks or similar products. This is a hybrid system, pneumatic for the descent of the follower plate, guaranteeing constant feeding of the pump, and electric for the CM tec‐technology pump to facilitate the transferring of large quantities. The volumetric pumps that equip this system have a capacity of up to 90 L/min and 10 bars of pressure.

DRUM DRAINER FOR AGRESSIVE PRODUCTS

These drum drainer pumps are for use in transferring aggressive products with viscosities of 1000 cSt such as acids, sodas, bases, chloride products, fertilizers or   inflammable products. They are lightweight and easy to handle drum drainers (less than 3 kg). Easy use and designed for low or high pressure, they exists as well for Atex or pneumatic version and offer excellent value for money. Thanks to the trigger‐operated nozzle the operator can accurately control the quantity transferred.

FOOD TRANSFER UNIT

These units are for transferring food products such as glucose, confectionery, vegetable oils, syrup, honey or similar products. They are motor‐pumps made from food‐grade synthetic materials. They are self‐contained and mobile with a gripper bar to facilitate handling. They can also be supplied with a metering module allowing the programming of the precise volume to be transferred. Capacity up to 830 liter/hour.

SYNTHETIC RAW MATERIAL PUMPS

We offer a complete range of synthetic pumps made out of polyester cristallin and stainless steel, 100% food compatible and specially adapted to highly viscous food products.  This range is used as example for following applications:  Conditioning/Dosage Motor pumps: they are used to proportion and condition from fluid to high viscous products (example: conditioning in 800 g pot from a 1000 L barrel). After programming the computer the pump will deliver the required quantity as often as necessary. Coning oil Motor pumps: they are specifically used to transfer coning oils, in the textile industry. They are mounted in units to supply machines treating nylon thread for the spinning of synthetic fibers. Laboratory Motor pumps: because they enable a very large testing possibility

LUBRICATION COMPACT UNIT

These units are for the closed circuit lubrication of special machines. They are tailor‐made to designs developed with the design offices of our industrial clients. The CMtec positive‐displacement pump carries the lubricant in a closed circuit between the machine to be lubricated and the oil sump of the lubrication unit. The assembly forms a self‐contained unit that may be mobile.  Capacity on client request.

MOBILE CLEANING UNIT

 These units are for use in reducing the rate of pollution of hydraulic fluids and maintaining the required level of cleanliness. They offer an alternative to the replacement of used oil with new oil. These motor‐pumps are tailor‐made to designs developed with the design offices of our industrial clients. They are used for filtering the oil on installations which require regular servicing, avoiding the premature wearing of the components and therefore the number of breakdowns and production stoppages.  In partnership with development department of our customers we have designed three different flow capacity to meet any customer request : 500 L/hr ;  2 000 L/hr and 5 000 L/hr.  There is no “standard product”. Each cleaning unit is manufactured on demand.

 What is type of technology are our pumps?   They are volumetric pumps which combine the advantages of the gear pump and the vane pump.   2. What is the maximum discharge pressure of our pumps?   20 bar   3. What is the maximum temperature of the product pumped?   160°C   4. What is maximum discharge rate of our pumps?   30 m 3/hour (or 500 L/min)   5. Are our pumps self‐priming?   Yes, they are all self‐priming thanks to our specific volumetric technology.   6. Do our pumps work with water?   No, our pumps are hydraulic pumps as the product pumped must have a minimum lubrication capacity.   7. Do our pumps comply with the ATEX directive?   Yes, all three of our pump ranges comply with the ATEX directive.   8. Can we satisfy specific requests from our clients?   Yes, our design office has the capacity to develop a product specifically for a client, to its specifications.   9. What is the service life of our pumps?   That depends on the product pumped and the conditions of use. Our pumps are designed for 20,000 hours' use with fluids with a good lubrication capacity.
