Local News: People at Kendale Elementary Take Part in Miami Marathon
By: Isabella Robinson This marathon starts at the American Airlines, heads down north and contin-ues through Miami Beach, downtown Miami, Little Havana, Coconut Grove, and Coral Gables before returning downtown for a finish at Bay Front Park. Samuel Kipkosgei Malakwen of Kenya, Africa crossed the finish line first, win-ning the 26.2-mile race in 2 hours 19 minutes 46 seconds and earning a $2,000 prize, according to CBS4 news partner the Miami Herald. I also inter-viewed our very own Mr. Fox and Mr. Romero who raced in the half mara-
thon.
Me: Mr. Fox, did you enjoy the marathon?
Mr. Fox: Yes it was a wonderful experience.
Me: How many miles did you run before you got ex-
hausted?
Mr. Fox: 9 mile mark.
Me: Who else did you run with other than Mr. Romero?
Mr. Fox: A college friend.
Me: Did you walk any part?
Mr. Fox: Sometimes I stopped and walked.
Me: Would you run another one?
Mr. Fox: Yes, I am registered for next year.
Mr. Romero’s responses to the same 5 Ques-
tions:
1. Some of the marathon I enjoyed. 2. 12 miles. I wanted to make sure I beat Mr. Fox. 3. One of Mr. Fox’s college friends. 4. Only when I got cramps.
5. I already signed up for next year.
Way to Go Mr. Fox and Mr. Romero—make your dreams a reality
Spring break is fast approaching , so I asked myself, “What are the popular spring break destinations?” Here are the answers: 1. Panama City Beach, 2.
Clear Water Beach and 3. Miami Beach.
I interviewed a few students and asked about their plans for spring break. Javier is going to Universal Orlando and hoping to have a blast. Mr. Romero
is going to see the White House in
Washington D.C.
A popular out of town place people will be going to is Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas, where they can explore the underwater life. Also, people will be going to Rancho de los Calleberos in
