The Company

The Artist Judson Jennings was raised in the small northern Utah town of Deweyville. He learned from an early age that hard work leads to success and success ushers in money and security. As soon as he turned 13 years old he took a job at a local dairy farm and awoke every morning at 2:30 a.m. to milk cows at 3 a.m. After five hours of milking, he would finish up just in time for a full day of school. His dedication to finding a way to pay for things that were not in his parent’s budget made him a student of money. By 14 he bought his own four-wheeler to drive himself to work and by 16 years old he pur-chased his own car by taking on another milking shift in the afternoon. While attending his local high school, Judson took an Agriculture Mechanics class and found that he had an interest in the field. Shortly after, he signed up for welding at Bridgerland Applied Technology College and bused with others from his school to the campus located in Logan, Utah. He was thrilled to find his deep talent and love for welding and entered a major, multi-college competition of over 300 participants. Winning first place, Judson knew he had found a life-long hobby. Judson’s hobby did not bring great money immediately as he worked for a local businessman who paid minimum wage. Because of a quest to make enough money to live free of economic oppression, he sought solutions in business and focused his learning at the University of Utah on Business Admin-istration. During his years as a college student he married Michelle Stoker, an anthropology student, and the two found ways to make ends meet. He finished up his education with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration and immediately followed the money to life insurance sales. After quickly re-alizing it was not for him, Judson found himself looking for part time welding jobs and anything else to help pay the bills. After a few career and personal twists and turns, Judson found that he could unite his new busi-ness degree with his artisic love of welding when he formed and sold his silverware creations over the internet. From his first sale to his current large network of retail outlets carrying Forked Up Art® throughout the United States, Judson Jennings has followed a well-lit path of hard work leading to success… with a lot of fun along the way.

Forked Up Art came into existence as an independent retailer on Etsy.com. The founder, Judson Jennings came up with a little Fork Man that produced function as well as an incredible de-sign. The first piece to be sold was the Business Card Holder. Judson wanted to produce a card holder that didn’t just hold the cards, but that has a unique personality while “handing” out the cards. These sales on Etsy.com spurred on various models including sign holders, Christmas Ornaments, and even-tually the iFork and iSpoon.

The concept of turning a fork-bending hobby into a business came to fruition when Judson launched his SmartPhone Holder. On Thursday, March 4th 2010, CNET.com Placed “The iFork” and “The iSpoon”, Judson’s SmartPhone holders, on their front page. in a 24 hour period, Judson sold over 100 pieces. Over the next 7 days, he sold another 100 pieces. Seeing the business potential of his newly found concept, Judson formed Forked Up Art, LLC to officially begin his journey.

With website sales still flowing, Judson started attending Farmers Markets throughout the Salt Lake Valley during the summer. This taught him how to run a booth, which products sold, how to market, and which shows to attend. These markets prepared him to attend larger art festivals not only in the state of Utah, but in various places in the western United States. After seeing great success in the retail markets, Judson realized that wholesale is really where he belonged.

In 3 short years, Forked Up Art has obtained upwards of 1600 accounts with retailers selling his clever items all over the United States and Canada. Forked Up Art currently employs 12 people who all strive to push the quality of the brand forward. The work philosophy at Forked Up Art is “A good days work for a good days pay”. The CEO and Founder, Judson Jennings believes in a good days work and feels that pushing for a good work ethic will make employees more valuable in future career positions.

“Forked Up Art is a symbol...”, says CEO and Founder Judson Jennings, “... a symbol that Ameri-cans don’t need to roll over and die financially when times get tough”. The company started because of a down economy and is focused on pure business while providing lifestyle for all that are involved.

Jewelry is new to Forked Up Art, but not to it’s DesignersKayley Glauser of Salt Lake City, Utah jumped on to the Forked Up Art team as a Fork and Spoon Jeweler. She still puts in time at her father’s jewelry store, but leads the effort here at the work shop designing our Stainles Steel Jewelry pieces.
