Cancun Seven means the excellence of the international Rugby 7s in Mexico.
The Mexican Rugby Union is proud to have founded the tournament back in2008 and every year the tournament hosts some of the best teams and athletesof this unique sport.
The Cancun 7s is one of the largest amateur tournaments in the world, withparticipating teams from different countries such as Argentina, Belize, France,Germany, England, Canada and the United States.
One cannot help but mention the exceptional natural environment that offersthe Riviera Maya and the permanent holiday atmosphere of the Caribbean

Why Cancún 7s?
History of the TournamentThe Cancun Sevens is one of the stellar moments ofthe Rugby calendar since 2008 when the FMRUorganized the first Rugby tournament, and is theculmination of the National 7s Circuit, the MEXSevens, which is host all across Mexico.
The tournament has grown over the years to becomeone of the most important Sevens tournaments inCentral America and the Caribbean, attracting teamsfrom around the world.
The Cancun Sevens has been visited by the teamsfrom USA, Canada, Argentina, Germany, France,England, Belize and Mexican during a memorableweekend in one of the wonders of the world: theRiviera Maya.
The level of the teams vary widely - from competitiveto recreational teams.

The Cancún Sevens is held at El Rey PoloCountry Club.
El Rey is located within the jungle of theRiviera Maya, nearby the town of PuertoMorelos, with a capacity of up to 4 rugbyfields of top quality.
Within the facility, there is a family areawith bar and food service. Moreover, it hasmassage professional services for allplayers. Do not forget to bring yourswimsuit to enjoy the swimming pool!

TOURNAMENT VENUE
Getting there· By Tournament Transport - participating teams usually stay at the nearby world famous seaside resort of Playa del Carmen. Bus transportation is provided courtesy of the organization.
· By Road –· By Taxi – taxis are easily accessible at the two main hotel areas (Playa del Carmen, and Cancun) and will vary their prices to get to El Rey Polo Country Club, ranging from 300 to 500 pesos.

El Rey Polo Country Club is located at about 11km to the west of Puerto Morelos (inland from Puerto Morelos entrance) in the secondary road leading to Central Vallarta or Ruta de los Cenotes (alternate name), about 15 minutes from the International Airport of Cancun.

The usual tournament structure is split into two parts: Pool Games and Final Competitions.The number of teams in the groups varies from year to year depending on the number of teams confirmed.

El Cancún Sevens is the closing date
of the National Rugby Sevens CircuitMEX SEVENS.
The MEX SEVENS is the national rugby 7s circuit for bothwomen's and men's organized by the Mexican RugbyFederation.
For the 2014 Edition there will 31 possible tournamentsheld in the 5 Regions of competition for 8 weeksbetween late April and late June.
A general ranking all teams together with their resultsover the 7 dates with first place set to NationalChampion Women's or Men each branch.
The circuit consists of national and regionaltournaments; in order to represent the performance ofthe team as well as the status of the tournament, andreward traveling to other regions.

Applications can be made at any time during the year. There is no closing datefor applications as we sometimes get late call-offs and can fit teams in at thelast moment. However we do use deadlines to ensure organizationalarrangements.
Teams that have expressed interest are requested to confirm their participation and pay their tournamentfee by May 15th.
INDIVIDUAL PLAYERS ARE WELCOMEWe often get players trying to find a team to play for and can help to supplement teams who areshort of players. The Organization will put these players and teams in contact.

The Cancun Sevens has medical support at the tournament with Doctors, medicalassistants and a ambulance service.
The medical staff will provide medical care to:• Players who are playing and who suffered an injury• Seriously injured players in previous matches that require medical care while
evaluating how to proceed in the event of a major emergency (eg. evacuationto a hospital if necessary).
The medical staff of the tournament DOESN’s provide :• physiotherapy• taping• or other care that is not related to immediate emergency medical assistance
and transfer to a hospital .
The use of the ambulance is to transport seriously injured players from the fieldto a hospital or a place with a higher level of emergency assistance. Playerswhose injuries are not considered serious and want to continue to have medicalcare will have to move on their own.
Due to the medical service being specialized and accountable for assistance tothe players, it is of great importance that no one distracts the medical staff fromtheir duties.
Note: any complaint and wrong used of the medical service by participatingteams will be reported to the tournament organizing committee to actaccordingly inmediately.
