The response was encouraging. Probably the first IOT 1 training course Europe-wide in sign language was held there a few months ago. A word fromGerd-Walter Buskiescef european Director

It isn’t normally so quiet in your average children’s club. In a very lively, but virtually silent way Victor and Ljubov Kutjurin “tell” the Bible story to the children! The boys and girls before them are deaf, as are Victor and Ljubov themselves. This married couple took part in the Children’s Ministry Leadership Course in Russia in 2011 with the help of a sign language interpreter.

“Deaf children also need the Gospel!” The now full-time CEF workers took this request to the churches particularly in the area around St. Petersburg. The response was encouraging. Probably the first IOT 1 training course Europe-wide in sign language was held there a few months ago. Christians from Moscow, Nizhny Novgorod and several other places also took part in it. All 14

participants successfully completed the course. Also in Novosibirsk they were already able to hold an IOT course as well.

Olga, one of the participants said subsequently: “I continually wonder why I did not know this nor applied it before. I have cried and regretted that I made so many mistakes. Now I

understand how you should talk about God, sins, Jesus etc. I pray that many more workers will learn how to effectively teach deaf children the Gospel. I would like to

complete the IOT 2 course as well.” For the glory of God, Victor and

Ljubov Kutjurin would like to train many more Christians how to tell the Gospel with their hands. Then eyes can hear!

O Lord God, you have only begun to show your servant your greatness and your mighty hand. (Deut 3:24, ESV)

In this respect Christians are never content! Appreciating what God has already revealed to us about Himself, we are aware that there is infinitely more to discover and our ear-nest desire is that God would show even more of His greatness and might through His Word.

“This is a miracle!” the transla-tor at our workers’ conference in Central Asia whispered to me. He meant the large number of par-ticipants, especially men, coming from countries where 20 years ago there was hardly any CEF work. Indeed, under God, the work has grown here and in many other areas. When He sends out work-ers and calls children to living faith, we see something of His greatness and His mighty hand. But God can do infinitely more among us! Bereg camp: A Place of Blessing“Envy arose in me, as my friends in the CEF camp

centre Bereg Camp (West Ukraine) explained with great joy on the last evening, how God had changed their lives. I would so much like to have this same joy! During the week I had wondered that the Bible message seemed to always speak to me. How did the group leader know about my lies? And why did Jesus nevertheless want to be my personal Saviour? This evening was the last impetus I needed to open my heart to the Lord Jesus. At the time I was 10. I can still clearly recall today, what a great joy and relief filled my heart, after I went into the tent to talk and to receive new life there. Through a hole in the tent roof I saw the stars and it occurred to me that they were showing the joy of the angels about my conversion.” (Krisztina F.)

Twelve years have passed since then. Krisztina leads a Good News Club today in her family’s house. She says: “There I am able to pass onto the children, what I have learnt myself. I can observe how the children’s lives change.” And in the summer she naturally goes with her children to the camp at Bereg Camp, where she works voluntarily.

The tents at Bereg Camp have given way to solid houses over the years. Last summer more than 800 children were reached with the gospel! Recently a flat has been built for the house parents. If you would like to help to get this house completed, we would be thankful for gifts into one of our accounts. Then many more children like Krisztina can experience the joy of salvation!

God uses little children tooA little 5-year-old girl in Madrid received a little present of 5

hearts with the colours of the Wordless Book (produced by CEF of Poland). On each

heart there was a verse explaining the way of salvation. She insisted to her parents that she wanted to take the hearts to kindergarten and share the message with her teacher. So her parents had to go over the colours with her and the

little girl happily went to kindergarten and spent the week explaining a colour per day

to her teacher. Her parents were amazed and touched at how a small visual given to a child

can impact on others especially in Spain where one is not allowed to openly share

one’s Christian faith in kindergartens or schools.

You’re invitedPraise God for 17 German and Swiss students taking the autumn CMLC at Kilchzimmer this year.

Do join us to celebrate as the students receive diplomas for work well done and are challenged to consider God’s plan for their ministry among the children. The graduation service is December 19th at 19:30 and will be followed by a time of fellowship with coffee and cookies.

Please mark the date in your diaries.

For more information call 062 387 3010.

Equipping God’s people “for every good work”“The classes helped me to have a vision of how to reach children where there is no Good News club or any kind of outreach and to show them the love of Jesus.”

“The first six weeks of training was a great time of preparation spiritually and practically. We still think about all the lessons we learned and try to practise them in our ministry with the children.”

“It was an incredible time, a gift from God so I could be equipped and prepared for a more effective work among the children.”

“We can’t wait to do the second module of the CMLC!”

T H A n K s T O O U R v o l u n t e e r sWe thank God for the many

volunteers which He sent to us during the summer and autumn Children’s Ministry Leadership Courses.

Giorgio meregaglia and nadia hasenfratz helped with translation of the lessons into Italian.

A very special thank you goes to the carers of the children and young people of our course participants: kerri Wallace, sandra Ashe, Ana Pérez Bernad and Julia lindenfelser.

elzbieta korczak, sara kozińska, ewa Jezewska from Poland, hans notter

from New Zealand, David mccoubrey from Northern Ireland, ilja hartig and simon lindenfelser from Germany helped in the house, kitchen and garden.

We say thank you very much and wish them all God’s blessings for the future!

f i n A n c i A l pA R T n e R s n e e D e D !We would be grateful for any financial help with these works! Gifts can

be transferred into one of the bank accounts shown in the neighbouring panel with the following note (“telephone system”, “IT infrastructure” or “replacement infrastructure”).

p R O j e c T u P D A t e sFire alarm system

In the week between the summer and autumn courses the whole fire alarm system was replaced. Ninety-two existing and 16 new smoke detectors (including cables and bases), 22 beacons, 8 additional sounders and 10 manual call points had to be installed and linked together. This work was carried out by our “CEF building team” Russell Brooks

(Scotland), Jose Antonio Guerreiro (Portugal) and Felix Dürrenberger (Kilchzimmer). The fire alarm panel itself was installed and put into operation by the supplier. Now in terms of the fire alarm we are again up to date. Thanks to all our donors!telephone system

Our telephone system must now be urgently replaced, as often there are disruptions and calls cannot

be forwarded to certain numbers anymore. As Swisscom will no longer be supporting the ISDN system from the year 2017, it is necessary to buy a network based system (VOIP). it infrastructure

Our IT infrastructure often presents difficulties as well. The server and our whole wireless system including the firewall must be changed.

M AY w e i n t r o D u c eSince the middle of September Bernadette

magyar from Hungary has been reinforcing our kitchen team as a volunteer helper. Her plan is to stay until summer 2015. We are very thankful for long term helpers!
