HEAD COACH: MICHAEL MENDEZ TRACK/CROSS-COUNTRY (3rd Season) It is my pleasure to lead the program that meant so much to me

as an athlete for the University that continues to impact my life.

Our program is growing and I cannot wait to see the accomplish-

ments and achievements of our athletes in the coming years. I

look forward to watching all of our athletes walk across the stage

and also to the

medal stand. I

believe McKendree is a wonderful place for students to grow and

we pride ourselves in making the athletic experience one to remem-

ber. I have been entrusted with the opportunity to give back to the

University I love and I have the responsibility to give each athlete

BRANDON MURPHY SPRINTS/HURDLES (4th Season)

Coach Murphy enters his fourth

season with the Bearcats.

McKendree entered their first

season as full NCAA Division II

members where he accumulat-

ed 3 NCAA national qualifiers

with a highest individual finish

of 12th. In two years of GLVC

membership he has coached the sprint/hurdle group to 3

GLVC Champions and 6 GLVC All-Conference Athletes. He

looks forward to building the sprint program back to the

dynasty it once was.

JOSLYN DREW JUMPS (2nd Season)

Coach Drew leads the jumps-

crew for her second season

after taking triple jump stand-

out LaTia Jefferson to multiple

GLVC records and indoor and

outdoor NCAA qualifications,

ultimately finishing 12th out-

doors. She leads a young

group into 2014/15 with the hopes of continuing

McKendree' s stellar reputation in the horizontal jumps in

the upcoming spring. Coach Drew is a graduate of Carthage

College and a native of Illinois.

ALEX KLUCHKI ASSISTANT CROSS/TRACK (1st)

Coach Kluchki enters his first

season as the assistant coach

for both cross country and

track and field. A native of

Illinois and a graduate from

the GLVC, he is very excited to

help build our programs. He

works

primarily with the distance athletes

and leads recruiting efforts. Coach

Kluchki participated in the distance

events for Lewis University.

ANDY CROXFORD VOLUNTEER ASSISTANT TRACK—THROWS (1st)

Coach Croxford begins his tenure at McKendree assisting

with the throwing events for the Bearcats. He brings exten-

sive technical knowledge from his time as an athlete at

Southeast Missouri State University.

MEGAN DOTY STUDENT ASSISTANT CROSS/TRACK (1st)

Megan made a name for herself in one short

year improving her performances exponen-

tially and ultimately achieving All-Conference

Honors in Cross Country, 3rd place in the 10k

outdoors, and a school record in the 3km.

McKendree is located in historic Lebanon, IL. Lebanon's Main Street is home to

charming specialty shops, unique restaurants and Victorian architecture.

McKendree is only 25 minutes from St. Louis - a major resource for cultural experi-

ences, job and internship opportunities, and entertainment.

McKendree's average class size is 10 students.

The student teacher ratio is 14:1.

McKendree currently has over 20 intercollegiate athletic sports

teams.

96.5% of undergraduate and 97% of graduate students are em-

ployed or enter graduate school within 6 months of graduation.

2014: Outdoor Champion in the 400m Hurdles. Runner-up

in the 100m Hurdles. and a crucial part of McKendree's

4x100m relay 3rd-place finish. Qualified for Outdoor nation-

als in the 400m Hurdles finishing 16th in the nation. Set an outdoor career best

and school record for the 400m hurdles at 1:00.29 at Eastern Illinois Last-Chance

Meet and went on to break the school record in the 100m Hurdles during sum-

mer completion in Lithuania with a time of 14.09. Irma transferred Fall of 2013.

2014: Finished 12th at the NCAA Indoor National Champi-

onships for the 60m Dash. Qualified with a provisional time

of 6.76. Set career bests in the 60m Dash (6.76), 100m

(10.57), and 200m (21.29). Provisionally qualified in the

4x100m relay Outdoor. GLVC Champions in the 4x100m. GLVC All-

Conference in the Indoor 200m Dash. Won GVSU Big-Meet in the 60m.

2013: GLVC All-Conference in 4x100m relay. Won the Joey Haynes Invitational

for the 4x100m Relay. Individual Champion in the 60m at two indoor meets.

The mission of McKendree University is to provide a high quality educational experi-ence to outstanding students. We guide our students in the pursuit of academic excellence which will prepare them for

our history and traditions, we provide our students with a rigorous, broadly based

liberal arts curricula joined with specializa-tion in a specific discipline.

The GLVC, which at one point over the past dec-ade grew to 17 members and was the largest ath-letic conference in the country in any division, has fully embraced NCAA Division II. Although formed and developed as one of the nation’s premier basketball confer-ences, the GLVC now sponsors 18 championship sports, including football, and is one of the na-

tion’s top NCAA Division II conferences.

Division II provides an intersec-

tion where athletically gifted stu-

dents can compete at a high lev-

el, while maintaining much of a

traditional collegiate experience.

The Division II emphasis is on

balance, with the objective of providing student-

athletes a comprehensive program of learning

and development. Student-athletes are encour-

aged to achieve excellence in their sport, in the

classroom and in their community.
