First: Rabbani .- Islamic thought is based on the

Quran and the Sunnah.

- aimed to increase devotion toGod.

Second: Ethical - Islamic thought taking into accountthe moral and ethical aspects(akhlak).- Islam was revealed to completehuman character (akhlak).

Third: Insani Human being is the object to be a

servant of God and realize his/her

happiness in life. Human being is the most noblecreature. All contents of nature aremade for them.

Allah says: (al- Isra : 70)

Ciri-ciri Pemikiran Islam

Fourth: Universal

- Islamic thought gives attention onthe interest of all human beingirrespective of their tribe and race.-The Quran is in Arabic but itsmessages are universal.

Fifth: Tolerance-Islam stresses two basic things toinfluence human thought:-Human differences in religion is areality.-Islam protects the interest of Muslimsand others.

Sixth: Diverse -not limited to divinity but encompassesall aspects of thinking such as language,arts and sciences.- covers all aspects of human life.

Seventh: Balance. -reflects a balance between rights andobligations, knowledge and faith, bodyand soul, individual and social.-see something with a balancedperspective.

Eighth: Integrative-some thoughts on one aspecthave relationship to other aspects

(no separation).- For example, the field oflanguage does not separate to thethought of syariah, social etc.

- Islamic thought isaccommodative to other thoughtsas long as they do not destroy itspurity and originality.
