Small Cell for Capacity

• Micro-cell coverage depends on the

isolation from the macro-cell

• Place the micro cell as close as

possible to the centre of the traffic hot-

spot

• On average micro-cell will offload 20%

to 30% from the macro cell traffic

• To minimize Soft Handover overhead,

try to find the highest possible isolation

from the macro layer

• Micro cell can share the same

frequency with the overlapping macro

cell
