Moved all the books back onto
the shelves after the carpet
was installed over the summer.
Library Advisory Council planned and initat-
ed a bake sale during parent teacher confer-
ence. They earned $357.00. They repeated
their efforts the following semester and
earned $230.00.
Teams were formed for Battle of the Books. A
kick-off video was shown in each encor class.

Earth Science freshmen come into the
library for their MLA workshops and
projects taught by Mrs. Eaton
Teaching continues in English classes.
Classes are taught techniques for
searching using the new databases.

Author Todd Strasser visited Maize High School
via Skype. Mr. Birdsell’s and Mr. Watkins classes
along with the library club asked question about
his writing and books.
Speed dating with books. Mrs. Kerbs
classes spent time getting to know
books. Just five minutes at each table
then, they had to choose one they
wanted to date (read).
Battle of the Books winners are from
Mrs. Pfeiffer’s encore class. They are
Petra Jacobson, Alec Landreth, Justin
Noble and Nick Mathias.
Gale Cengage gave the library free ac-
cess to 15 different e-books from their
collection. They include American
Decades and Novels for Students.
At the request of the Eng-
lish Department we bar-
coded several novel sets
from their book room.
Mrs. Eaton re-
tires after 35
years of working
at MHS Library.
