2013-2014 FALL & WINTER SEASoN
PRIVATE LIVES ACCoMPLICE IT’S A WoNDERFUL LIFE JULIUS CAESAR SLaW
What a summer! In addition to Shakespeare’s Love’s Labour’s Lost and Olympia Dukakis’ triumphant return in Bertolt Brecht’s Mother Courage and Her Children, we presented world premieres, cutting-edge modern drama and staged productions here on our campus and in venues across the Berkshires. You’d think after such a whirlwind season, we’d need a breather—but we’ve got another one ready to go off with a bang.Read on and discover our fantastic Fall & Winter season, featuring comedic thrills (Accomplice), classic Shakespeare (The Tragedy of Julius Caesar), timeless family drama (It’s a Wonderful Life), and scandalous romantic comedy (Private Lives). This season also marks 25 years of our famed Fall Festival of Shakespeare. We invite alumni, supporters, and friends of this life-changing educational program back for a gala celebration on october 12.
Throughout the year, artists and patrons from all over the globe come to work and play with us here in the beautiful Berkshires, and we invite you to join us—to laugh, to cry, to learn, and to love. Tony Simotes

4 DAYS – 10 PLAYS – 30+ S&Co ARTISTS – 500+ STUDENTS
The “jewel in our crown,” the Fall Festival began when students from two local high schools (lenox and Mount
Greylock), invited each other to share their performances of Shakespeare: The Taming of the Shrew and Romeo and Juliet. That simple idea grew into a resoundingly successful event that has become a celebrated tradition in our region while inspiring imitation nationwide. Please join us for an unforgettable experience!

The actor training I received at Shakespeare & Company was a profound experience for me. It stoked my imagination and creative fires. It also developed my love and passion for classical text, and a deeper understanding of humanity. This immersive actor training now serves as my foundation and my approach to Shakespeare and a career in the classics.
