Sunshine Insurance Headquarters Office Tower
Beijing CBD
Site Area: 8,264 m2
GFA Above Ground: 90,000 m2
Building Height: 243 m
The new Sunshine Insurance Headquarters is located in the core area of Beijing’s Central Business District.
The building form is generated by starting with a typical square footprint that slowly morphs into an elliptical form. It prioritises view corridors to the northwest, looking towards CCTV and China World, as well as to the southeast, facing the greater CBD skyline.
The conventional footprint towards the base lends to a typical office lease-out condition for multiple tenants, while the more unique footprint found on the upper floors is conducive to Sunshine Insurance’s requirements as a single tenant occupant.
The crowning piece features a 34 m diameter globe set within the top five floors, with club, museum gallery and observation deck. Reminiscent of the Sunshine Insurance logo, this inhabitable sphere will serve as a glowing point of reference throughout the new CBD precinct and the greater Beijing skyline.

Beilun CYE Cultural Plaza
Ningbo

Designing the ultimate cultural centre, Woods Bagot utilised a modern approach to reinvigorate the growing metropolis of Ningbo. The development contains retail, hotel, office towers, Beilun TV station, theatre, film studio, cinema and other entertainment facilities.
The design scheme links the vibrant atmosphere of Ningbo whilst providing a calming haven, making this Cultural Plaza the perfect place to call home.
The primary principle of this centre is one of place by maximising natural amenity and retail exposure, as well as creating a grand and iconic civic plaza to become a cultural centre with theatre and entertainment experiences.
Once construction is complete in 2016, the Ningbo Cultural Plaza will become an outstanding gateway and cultural precinct defining a new identity for Ningbo.

Intime 5-star Hotel
Wenling
Site Area: 38,443 m2
GFA: 127,169 m2
Building Height: 300 m
The new 300 metre high Wenling Intime 5-star Hotel and Serviced Apartment complex is the focal point of the new master plan for the city of Wenling.
Positioned between two water ways, with extensive views of the wetlands and mountains in the region, the new resort will be an active destination to support the local culture and economy.
In addition to the residences and guest rooms located within the towers, the project includes ballroom and conferencing facilities along with a variety of dining options. Design highlights to ensure a quality guest experience include the creation of a southern waterfront dining experience and pedestrian promenade, multi-storey atrium spaces in both the tall tower and podium, roof-top gardens, as well as a feature club and observation deck occupying the highest levels of the tall tower.
With design development underway, the Woods Bagot team is continuing to refine the design of what has become a beautiful building composition. Construction is scheduled to commence later this year, and the Wenling Intime 5 Star Hotel is set to become a regional icon in south Zhejiang when complete in 2015.

Kerry Parkside
Shanghai Pudong

Creating a building that speaks to its sense of place, while commanding architectural attention in the hustle and bustle of Shanghai is no easy feat. However Kerry Parkside, Shanghai’s newest mixed-use development does just that.
Located in the heart of Huamu district Pudong, Kerry Parkside is the first development of its kind in the area, which is surrounded by upscale communities and lush green spaces.
The development is integrated with the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, and is directly connected to Shanghai Metro Line 7 with Inner Ring Road, Luoshan Road and the Longyang Road exit just seven blocks away.
Kerry Parkside’s facilities offer residents convenient access to do everything from their grocery shopping to dining out with a key component being a central public courtyard on the ground floor linking the development and creating a sense of unity.
The retail design is conceptualised as an elegant retail warehouse ‘LOFT DESIGN’ and the brand environment features large, flexible market style spatial volumes. The node areas are surrounded by retail and causal seating, to create a focal point for the shopping complex. Outdoor hospitality areas offer dining and social interaction, becoming a main attraction for the surrounding neighbourhood.
Kerry Parkside was ‘Retail Interior Highly Commended’ in the 2013 Asia Pacific Property Awards.
