Idol worship was considered to bethe most serious sin because itdenied the role of the Lord God in

for the human race, but the cost wasthe death of Jesus on the cross.

Only by looking at the Cross, then,

knowledge (Hos. 4:6, NKJV), to press

on to know God fully and live in harmonywith His eternal principles.

It was the peoples lack of knowledge,the knowledge of God, that led them to

rebellion and eventually resulted in

judgment.
