A Letter from the President Dear Friends, What an amazing year we have had at Notre Dame Cristo Rey High School! It was a robust year of reflection of ten wonderful years, joyous celebration and gratitude for all of those benefactors, friends and supporters who helped us get to where we are today. For me, personally, it was also a year of decision. As most of you are already aware, I decided to step down as acting president of NDCR and embrace the role of President Emeritus. In this new role, I will continue to carry on the mission of our SNDdeN work at the high school and also have more time to enjoy other things I am passionate about such as traveling and visiting with cherished friends. In fact, you may be hearing from me soon! Please join me in prayer for the faculty and staff at NDCR as they prepare for the next decade of 100% college acceptance, educating our youth for life and developing the city of Lawrence through its next generation of leaders. “Arriving at NDCR my sophomore year as a nervous transfer

student marked the beginning of one of the best experiences of my life. I was in search of a smaller, more affordable private education and that was exactly what I found at Notre Dame. What I was not expecting was the wonderful community and opportunities that I encountered. The faculty and staff that helped me throughout my three years at NDCR served as guides and mentors when it came to excelling academically. In addition to the teachers, the free summer programs at prestigious colleges, such as University of Notre Dame and Georgetown University, contributed to the reasons why I currently attend Georgetown. Notre Dame Cristo Rey helped me develop my mind as well as my social skills through the classes and CWSP. I have found that among all high school students I came across, Cristo Rey students possess a monumental advantage when it comes to interacting with adults which is a useful tool when it comes to college/job interviews and life in general.”
