Student Planners: Parents should read and sign the yellow box of their student’s homework planner daily.

Parents can contact their student’s teacher by: Writing notes in the student planner or sending notes in

the homework folder. E-mailing. Calling and/or leaving a message on the teacher’s

voicemail. Scheduling a conference.

Each student is provided with a daily homework planner. All homework and weekly spelling words are recorded in the homework planner.

Homework assignments usually consist of a reading, spelling, and/or math activity. All homework assignments reinforce class lessons or review second grade skills.

READING includes vocabulary tests, reading comprehension tests, & contracts (weekly assignments) 

MATH includes chapter tests, checkpoint/quizzes, unit tests, and weekly classwork

WRITING Linking to Concepts/Personal Response/Analyzing the Selection (Writing test) is one grade.  Spelling and dictation are two grades.

 

 

GRADING POLICY

SCIENCE includes weekly classwork, performance (projects), and quizzes

 SOCIAL STUDIESIncludes weekly classwork, performance (projects), and quizzes

A= 90-100%B= 80-89%C= 70-79%D= 60-69%F= 59% and below
