2013 ‐14 Annual Report
MESSAGE FROM THE CHAIRMAN
“Progress shall mark our every
step.” Those words could not have
been more true as we look at the
Foundation’s accomplishments of
the past year. Of course, it is the
continued support from alumni and
friends that has made this possible.
Rather than a lot of words, just
consider the following highlights:
Total dollars raised: $3,962,366 (in fiscal year 2012‐
13, we raised $2,084,000, which
was the first time we exceeded
$2 million in giving).
Total assets of the Foundation
now stand at $11,662,000—a 44%
increase.
Contributing numbers increased
to 2,151 donors, equal to
approximately 10.7% of total
FarmHouse members.
Outreach was great as the staff
was able to update 427 alumni
in one‐on‐one meetings, help
host 15 FarmHouse alumni events, contact almost
4,400 alumni by telephone and reach out to over
10,700 alumni through e‐communications.
The monies will be used for numerous “chapter‐
building” activities. This year over $141,000 was
granted to the Fraternity for leadership training
programs, approximately $281,000 to chapter house
construction and renovations, and academic
scholarships to 83 undergraduates.
The new capital campaign, Live. Learn. Lead.—The
Campaign for FarmHouse, is under way. At the end
Photos from the 2014 Power of 7 Seminar held April 25‐27, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas.
of February 2014, $8,622,827 had been tallied to get
the new campaign under way.
“But you ain’t heard nothing yet,” new Chairman Jim
Tobin (IA ’76) announced at the recent Conclave that the
Board of Trustees had raised the goal for this new major
campaign to $20 million. I’ll bet we’ll make that in
record time.
As I finish my six‐year term as a member of the
Board of Trustees and my second year as Chairman of
the Board, I have been extremely gratified to see the
culture of our Fraternity continue
as it started a hundred years ago.
These funds are clearly playing a key
role in “building the leaders of to‐
morrow.”
My heartfelt thanks to the
excellent work and leadership of the
Foundation staff who spent less than
$0.07 of every dollar to bring in this
year’s funding. The caliber of the
current Board of Trustees and that
leadership will further mark the con‐
tinued success of the Foundation and
its support to the Fraternity.
Most importantly, we’re grateful for your investment
to make this progress possible.
Fraternally,
Jim Herbert (TN ’61), Chairman
Foundation Board of Trustees
CEO, Neogen Corporation

THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION 2013 ‐14 Annual Report 4
MESSAGE FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
You empower FarmHouse to do
more.
What a tremendous and exciting
year it has been! Because of you—
the 2,151 alumni, parents,
undergraduates and friends who
invested in the FarmHouse
Foundation during our 2013‐14
fiscal year—we received a
record $3.96 million in gifts and pledges. Your
generosity has made FarmHouse even stronger today,
and we are immensely grateful for
this record‐breaking support. As a
result, you continue to…
Inspire more undergraduates
through leadership programs. Your
dedicated support provides vital
training, mentoring and networking
opportunities at the annual
FarmHouse Leadership Institute,
the Regional Leadership
Conferences, the Emerging Talent
Retreat, the Power of 7 Seminar, Conclave and locally
through retreats and consultation visits.
Award more scholarships. Because of you,
FarmHouse members have the opportunity to excel
and continue their education through much‐needed
academic scholarships. Others have the opportunity
to discover the world first‐hand through study abroad
scholarships.
Improve more chapter house facilities. You assist the
Fraternity and Foundation in ensuring that FarmHouse
men have safe, affordable and positive living/learning
environments and up‐to‐date technology needed for
today and tomorrow’s members.
Build more FarmHouse undergraduates into the
Leaders of Tomorrow. Your investment in FarmHouse
prepares today’s 1,600‐plus FarmHouse brothers for life
after college through values‐based development
programs and provides for the continued development
of the International Office, staff and resources to
continue to do more.
Your dedication to and investment in FarmHouse
makes all of this possible. In turn, you enabled the
Foundation to award 172 educational grants totaling
over $530,000 for the benefit of today’s FarmHouse
undergraduates, chapters and the International
Fraternity.
Some of you made a monthly gift by your credit
card. A record number of you joined our second
annual Chairman’s Club to benefit the Annual Fund.
Several used corporate matching gifts programs to
multiply your goodwill and generosity. Many of you
made a gift in honor or memory of a FarmHouse
brother who influenced your life. Others have included
FarmHouse in their estate plans and
joined our “100 Legacies in the
Making” Campaign. We salute you
for your steadfast generosity and
commitment.
We are humbled and honored to
share the Foundation’s noteworthy
highlights and accomplishments
from our last fiscal year with you in
this Annual Report. Whatever level,
whatever purpose—you played a
powerful and critical part in building men in Farm‐
House chapters across North America. Your generous
philanthropy has impacted the lives of countless young
men and provided the tools to help them fulfill their
dreams and aspirations.
As we embark on our new fiscal year, in order to
keep pace with the Fraternity’s exceptional educational
programs, we can’t rest on our laurels. I hope you will
agree that sustaining and advancing the current and
future programs of FarmHouse is an endeavor worthy
of your support!
Please join me in celebrating this successful year and
in reaching even greater milestones in the future. I
guarantee your investment in Building the Leaders of
Tomorrow will be well worth it!
Loyally,
Allison Rickels, CFRE

FOUNDATION OBJECTIVES
7 THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION
2013 ‐14 Annual Report
FY 13‐14 HIGHLIGHTS
THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION 2013 ‐14 Annual Report 8
FarmHouse Leadership Institute (FLI) The FarmHouse Leadership Institute (FLI)
is held each January in Kansas City and
gathers top undergraduate leaders from
across North America for four intense
days of leadership training. January 4‐7,
2014, 132 undergraduate leaders from 31
chapters attended FLI. Read more on
page 23‐24.
FarmHouse GROWS—New! The International Executive Board set an
aggressive membership growth goal of 40
established chapters, each with at least 40
members, by the year 2020. The first step to‐
ward this goal was a new leadership program
focused on recruitment. FarmHouse GROWS
was launched January 24‐26, 2014, in Kansas
City. In its inaugural year, 83 undergraduate
leaders from 30 chapters and colonies (each
chapter could send 2‐4 members) gathered
for an intensive recruitment workshop led
in conjunction with Recruitment Boot Camp.
To Be and Become…Emerging Talent
Retreat Each chapter can send a man who has
completed his first year of college to the To
Be & Become Retreat, held each year in May
at Camp Heartland outside of Kansas City.
The curriculum includes individual
leadership development through the
Strengths Quest program, outdoor
adventure team building activities and
a high ropes course.
Power of 7 Seminar This award‐winning seminar is a first‐class
think‐tank on the nation and FarmHouse
Fraternity. The program is an informal
forum, conducted under the leadership of
the Foundation Trustees, on the
international business climate and economy
with an emphasis on agriculture, technology
healthcare and entrepreneurship.
Membership in The Power of 7 is exclusive
to alumni who pledge to give $7,000, a
tax‐deductible gift, to the Annual Fund. In
return for their gift, they are invited to attend
a dynamic, interactive two‐day educational
seminar and mentor a top junior or senior
undergraduate leader.
The Journey: FarmHouse—New! The Fraternity and the Association of
Fraternal Leadership and Value (AFLV)
partnered to offer The Journey, a service
immersion trip, open to all FarmHouse
undergraduate members. May 31‐June 6,
2014, 14 FarmHouse men and facilitators
traveled to Honduras to offer ʺservice to
their fellowmen and to the world.ʺ They
built a house for a family in need, toured the
countryside and learned about Honduran
agriculture. In addition to the service and
immersion components, dedicated time was
spent in group discussion and personal
reflection related to their work, the
community they were working in and how
they could continue to make a difference in
their home communities.
Support for Individual Chapters Through the chapters’ Foundation Councils,
the Foundation provides support for local
chapter programming such as chapter
retreats and leadership training seminars on
both the local campus and national level.
Fraternityʹs Chapter Consultation
Program Fraternity Educational Leadership
Consultants visit each chapter and colony
every year. They live in the chapter house
for several days, meet with chapter officers
and offer leadership programming to all
chapter members. They then make
recommendations for improvement and
provide support following the visit.
Association & Advisor Visit
Education Program Trained staff and volunteers travel to
chapters to assess and monitor the
effectiveness of the chapter advisory team
leadership. They work to connect alumni
volunteers with local chapters and
associations through volunteer service and
assist in training and educating advisors
and association board members on topics
and issues relevant to chapters and
undergraduate students.
PROGRAMS Thanks to you and other generous FarmHouse alumni and friends
from across North America, the FarmHouse Foundation was able
to provide the Fraternity $530,110 in funding for educational and
leadership purposes in the 2013‐14 fiscal year…
LEADERSHIP TRAINING & EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS $141,481 was provided for leadership training and educational programs. Nearly 500 chapter members were directly impacted
and all 1,615 members were indirectly affected. Below is a list of FarmHouse educational and leadership programs.

$33,215, were given to members of specific chapters as designated by donors. The recipients of these scholarships were selected

HONOR ROLL OF DONORS
The FarmHouse Foundation gratefully acknowledges the generous support
of our donors. Each donation is personally acknowledged and directed
toward the ongoing programs and services of the Foundation. All donations
received during fiscal year (FY) 2013‐2014 are acknowledged below. They are
listed by accumulative giving clubs. Those in the H.K. Wilson Club and
above will be listed every year in our annual Honor Roll.
The Foundation would be honored to add your name to our growing list of
those who annually make an investment in the “Building of Men.” We are
grateful for every gift, whatever the amount. Since the Foundation is a
qualifying 501(c)3 organization, all donations are tax‐deductible.
If you are interested in becoming a donor or if your name has been omitted or
accompanied by incorrect information, please contact the Foundation at
(800) 722‐1905. († denotes deceased)

Foundation Receives
Three NIC Foundation
Awards
In August 2013, the North
American Interfraternity
Conference Foundation (NICF)
recognized the FH Foundation with
two Awards of Distinction.
The ʺ100 Legacies in the Making
Campaignʺ was named “Best
Planned Giving Effort,” and the
Foundation was commended for
exceeding its goal of securing over
$1 million in pledged planned gifts
and continuing its intentions to
have 100 donors join the planned
giving campaign.
The Foundation also received the
award for ʺBest New Development
Ideaʺ for successfully and creatively
raising over $62,000 during the
2012 Conclave. This was achieved
through a comprehensive
fundraising effort during Conclave
with a Live and Silent Auction,
Fund‐A‐Need Annual Fund
Auction and the Stars of
FarmHouse Wall.
Foundation Executive Director,
Allison Rickels also received the
prestigious NICF William D.
Jenkins Outstanding Professional
Award, recognizing her
professional achievement and
exemplary service in fundraising
and philanthropy in the fraternity/
sorority movement and craft.

PROVIDE FOR YOUR FUTURE
Did you know you can earn an excellent rate of return if you establish a
Charitable Gift Annuity (CGA) with the FarmHouse Foundation? Today’s low
interest rates offer great incentives to open a CGA with the FarmHouse
Foundation. For as little as $10,000, you can ensure fixed income during your
lifetime (or even that of your spouse), a charitable tax deduction during the year
in which you make the gift and the pride of knowing you will provide for future
generations of FarmHouse men. The chart to the right includes the rates the
Foundation currently offers. Contact us to find out how you can receive extra
income while at the same time changing lives, not just someday, but every day
and forever.

15 THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION
2013 ‐14 Annual Report
“Our favorite trip is always our next one.”
For Randy Linville (KS ’73) and his family,
international travel is more than a passion, it’s part
of who they are. “For us, traveling is building family
memories. I’ve seen the way it has impacted our
children and us. It has shaped us in ways we could
see and in other ways that we didn’t learn until
much later.”
Randy is the CEO of Agspring, a private equity‐
backed consolidator of agribusiness firms that supply
grains, oilseeds and related products to growing global
markets. He has more than three decades of experience
as a commodity market trader, international business
executive and corporate board leader in the agriculture
and commodity industry. His career has also taught
him the importance of international experience.
“I saw that the world really is flat. With the amount
of information and how interconnected the world is, I
learned that if you don’t have international exposure,
if you haven’t been immersed in another culture, it’s
just information,” Randy said.
As a former FarmHouse Foundation Trustee and
Chairman, Randy has been a long‐time supporter of
the Fraternity and the impact it makes on young men.
“I came to understand what a great multi‐
generational organization FarmHouse is. It’s a group
of 28,000 men – young and old – united by our shared
values. I was challenged to find out what we could do
together. The Foundation makes a great effort to build
the leaders of tomorrow and I realized there were many
other things we could do to help build men,” he said.
He added, “My son and I went to the Galapagos
Islands and stayed on a National Geographic explorer
ship. At night, there are no lights on the islands, so you
have a straight, unobstructed view of the sky. I’ve never
been good at picking out the constellations, but out
there, I had no doubt. I could see them clearly—you
could almost reach out and touch them. It was amazing.
And it’s those types of experiences I knew I wanted to
share with my FarmHouse brothers.”
With his passion for FarmHouse, his family’s love
for traveling abroad and—more than that—their joy in
sharing this experience with others, they set out to help
build men in a new way. The Randy and Debbie
Linville International Catalyst Fund, the largest fund
dedicated to international travel in the Foundation’s
history, was born.
Reflecting on the vision for the fund, he said,
“FarmHouse builds men and, to me, this isn’t
possible without getting international exposure.
International travel is expensive and time‐intensive.
However, I believe it is necessary to build a well‐
rounded leader who is empathetic and understanding
of the world around them. Debbie and I wanted to
make it easier for FarmHouse undergraduates to travel
abroad. In terms of grooming leaders, we couldn’t think
of a more rich way than this.”
The Linvilles wanted to see their gift used
immediately and for as many young men as possible.
Therefore, they set up their fund as a temporarily
restricted scholarship so that as soon as they made
their initial gift, the first scholarships could be awarded.
The impact of their gift has already begun to spread
across the FarmHouse membership. The fund was
established in December 2013 and scholarships of up
to $2,000 per academic year were immediately
available. To date, the Foundation has awarded nine
scholarships totaling $9,835. Six of these scholarships
supported undergraduates attending the Fraternity’s
new service immersion trip, The Journey: FarmHouse,
May 31‐June 6, 2014.
“We don’t know what the results will be—and
that’s the best part. We’re planting the seeds for a future
harvest. The fruit of this will go far and wide and
although we may not be able to measure the results, I
do know that every life touched by this fund will be
changed, and that brings us great joy.”

Ruby Society For Undergraduates
The Foundation recognizes the support provided by FarmHouse undergraduate members each year through the Foundation’s exclusive
undergraduate giving program, the Ruby Society. To become a member of the Ruby Society, undergraduates make a gift of $10 or more to
the Foundation. All donations to the Ruby Society support the leadership books and educational materials for the Regional Leadership
Conferences and Conclave. The Ruby Society also offers undergraduates exclusive benefits including an invitation to a career networking
reception at Conclave with distinguished FarmHouse alumni and Foundation Trustees and the “Lessons in Leadership” career networking
calls held twice a year. Since its inception, undergraduate members of FarmHouse have donated over $45,000 to the Foundation through this
program. Last year, 641 undergraduates from 26 chapters gave a record‐breaking $7,066 to the Ruby Society. Chapters are recognized for
their participation in the Ruby Society at three different levels. Below is a list of chapters who participated in the 2013 Ruby Society.

Corporations of all sizes encourage support of charitable causes by
offering to match gifts made by their employees to qualifying 501(c)3

OTHER GENEROUS CONTRIBUTORS
($1 to $299)
Thank you to those who sponsored me
and made this conference possible.
Your contribution to send me to FLI is
inspiring, and this experience has been
a great learning process for my chapter.
FLI unites our International Fraternity
and brotherhood in a way that I’ve
never seen before. I learned that
without FarmHouse, the world would
not be the same. To say that I’m hon‐
ored to be a member and leader within
the Fraternity is an understatement.”

The Annual Fund recognizes alumni and friends of the Fraternity who provide annual unrestricted gifts
to the FarmHouse Foundation, thus fueling much of the service and progress of both the Fraternity and
the Foundation. New programs often begin with the support of unrestricted money and unrestricted
giving is essential to the Foundation’s operation and programs. In order to honor and recognize donors
who make unrestricted gifts, the Foundation Board of Trustees has established the Annual Fund
program. The Foundation would be honored to add your name to our growing list of those who
annually make an investment in the “Building of Men.”
If you are interested in becoming a donor or if your name has been omitted or accompanied by incorrect
information, contact the Foundation at (800) 722‐1905. († denotes deceased)

The Foundation is grateful to the friends of the Fraternity who also financially
support the educational and leadership programs of FarmHouse.

27 THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION
2013 ‐14 Annual Report
“I had the opportunity to network and build relationships with some of
the most influential people in our organization. The Seminar also challenged
me and each participant to grow and develop our personal skills while think‐
ing ʺoutside the boxʺ on issues around the world,” said Alec Ibach (NE ’11)
about his experience at the 8th Annual Power of 7 Seminar, April 25‐27, in
San Antonio, Texas.
The Power of 7 Seminar, a first‐class think tank on our Fraternity and the
nation, gathered alumni, spouses and seven undergraduate leaders for a
weekend of learning, brotherhood and fellowship.
The Seminar began Friday evening with a welcome reception, followed
by dinner overlooking the San Antonio Riverwalk. Roundtable discussions
began Saturday morning, led by panels of Power of 7 donors and Trustees.
Topics this year included food production and security, the global economy
and finance and U.S. economic drivers. The Seminar concluded Sunday
morning with advice, lessons and reflections from the undergraduates,
alumni and spouses.
Reflecting on his Power of 7 experience, Second 7 Founder Doug Sims
(IL ’65) said, “This is a unique opportunity for young FarmHouse leaders to
exchange thoughts and ideas with successful alumni as they are about to
embark on a career. It is equally a unique opportunity for FarmHouse
alumni to see what a high quality product that FarmHouse Fraternity is
sending into society.”
A very special thank you to the Second 7 Founders who helped make
the weekend possible: Don (KS ’63) & Signe Ferguson, Mike (IL ’67) &
Jan Fayhee, Jerry (KS ’59) & Pam Gardner, Jim (TN ’61) & Judi Herbert,
Doug (IL ’65) & Nancy Sims, Jim Tobin (IA ’76) & Gina Heagney, and
Jim Wieland (ND ’72).
Interested in attending in 2015?
Save the Date ‐ the 9th Annual Power of 7 Seminar will be held in Santa Rosa, Cal.,
April 24‐26, 2015. Alumni who make an Annual Fund gift of $7,000 or more during
the 2014‐15 fiscal year are invited to attend this memorable and impactful Seminar
and have the opportunity to mentor one of FarmHouseʹs top undergraduates during
the weekend. Contact Allison Rickels at (800) 722‐1905 or [email protected]
for details.

ANNUAL FUND, CONT’D
8th Annual Power of 7 Seminar
THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION 2013 ‐14 Annual Report 28
THE GIFT THAT KEEPS ON GIVING
It may seem like a cliché, but when it
comes to planning your estate, and in that
process providing a last gift, the ultimate
gift, to those organizations and institutions
that have been important in your life, you
can truly make “the gift that keeps on
giving”.
I was reminded of this recently when
the FarmHouse Foundation received its
largest planned estate gift to date, well
over six figures, from the trust fund of
Orville (IL ’25) and Lorraine Mowery.
The story behind their generous gift
began in the early 1990s. Fay Sims (IL ’38)
had recently completed his service on the
Foundation Board of Trustees. During his
tenure, he convinced the other Trustees
and me that if the Foundation was ever
going to raise significant financial
resources to help sustain a growing,
progressive Fraternity, the Foundation
would have to have full‐time professional
staff.
Neither the Fraternity nor the
Foundation had the money to move
immediately to a full‐time staff, so we
started with personal visits with the
Illinois alumni that Fay knew from his
career with the University of Illinois
College of Agriculture and the University
of Illinois Foundation. Fay generously
volunteered his skills and knowledge of
fundraising, and shared them with me and
Duane Frichtl (IL ’76), who was also a
volunteer and the Illinois Association
president at the time.
The Mowery’s were among a number of
Illinois alumni we visited in their homes
and offices, the first such endeavor by the
Foundation since its founding in 1966. A
number of these visits resulted in endowed
gifts of $10,000 or more as it did with
Orville and Lorraine.
Orville had been a county extension
agent, farm advisor and farmer. Lorraine
was a homemaker, active in their church,
community activities and an avid golfer.
When we began to work with them
regarding their estate planning, they were
in the process of retiring and moving to
Green Valley, Ariz., and I followed up with
them there. When they completed their
plans in 1994, Orville returned the fund
agreement that has since guided their
intentions with a note that reads:
“We are both happy to make this
commitment to FarmHouse. I feel that the
Fraternity and many of the brothers have
inspired me to become a better human being –
and more successful in my work.”
Orville died in 1999. He and Lorraine
had been married 72 years. She remained in
the Green Valley/Tucson area. My wife
Linda and I kept in touch with her there,
often visiting her in her home and taking
her out for Mexican food, which she and
Orville loved as we do. Lorraine was 102
when she died on May 1, 2013.
The Orville O. & Lorraine Mowery
Endowment Fund will annually support
the Illinois Chapter in two ways: 1) one‐
half of the net income will be used to
provide need‐based scholarships for
chapter members; and 2) the other half
for “educational purposes, such as
maintenance or improvements to areas
of the chapter house (i.e. the computer
room, library, or study rooms). The
purpose shall be to provide a safe,
comfortable ‘home away from home’ for
Illinois FarmHouse actives and pledges
to enhance their educational excellence and
achievements.”
The Mowery’s vision of what they
wanted their gift to accomplish captures the
essence of what FarmHouse has stood for
the past 109 years: A home away from
home for young men who are serious about
their education, as exemplified by the 7
Founders in 1905.
Ten thousand dollars ($10,000) is the
Foundation’s threshold for named
endowment funds that become a permanent
part of the Foundation’s support for the
Fraternity: a gift that keeps on giving.
To date, 44 alumni have pledged $2.25
million in estate gifts as part of the
Foundation’s 100 Legacies in the Making
Campaign. Our goal is for 100 alumni to
step up and make provision in their will,
trust or other planned gift of $10,000 or
more, which the donor has not previously
advised the Foundation Trustees about. We
haven’t reached our goal, and we need your
help to do so.

29 THE FARMHOUSE FOUNDATION
2013 ‐14 Annual Report
FINANCIAL STATEMENTS
Dear FarmHouse Foundation
Board of Trustees:
I have audited the accompanying
Statement of Financial Position of The
FarmHouse Foundation as of February
28, 2014, and the related Statement of
Activities, Changes in Net Assets and
Cash Flows for the year then ended.
These financial statements are the
responsibility of the Foundation’s
management. My responsibility is to
express an opinion on these financial
statements based on my audit.
I conducted my audit in accordance
with auditing standards generally
accepted in the United States. Those
standards require that I plan and
perform the audit to obtain reasonable
assurance about whether the financial
statements are free from material
misstatement. An audit includes
examining, on a test basis, evidence
supporting the amounts and
disclosures in the financial statements.
An audit also includes assessing the
accounting principles used and
significant estimates made by
management, as well as evaluating the
overall financial statement
presentation. I believe that my audits
provide a reasonable basis for my
opinion.
In my opinion, the financial statements
referred to above present fairly, in all
material respects, the financial position
of The FarmHouse Foundation as of
February 28, 2014, and the results of its
operations and its cash flows for the
year then ended in conformity with
accounting principles generally
accepted in the United States.

How to Plant Seeds with the FarmHouse Foundation Giving Opportunities That Make a Difference
Your Support The Foundation is grateful
for the hundreds of
FarmHouse members and
friends who contribute each
year. It is their support that
makes all FarmHouse
educational and leadership
programs possible. The
following are ways to
support the FarmHouse
Foundation:
Annual Support These gifts typically arrive in
the form of checks, credit
card gifts or gifts of stock.
Most donors do not restrict
the use of their annual gifts.
This allows gifts to be allocated to the areas of most critical need.
Online Donations The Foundation accepts donations online through PayPal,
which accepts Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover
and electronic checks. To make a gift online, please visit us at
www.FarmHouse.org/Foundation.
Electronic Transfer Gift Program This program allows you to have money withdrawn directly
from your checking or saving account without having to write
monthly checks or make one substantial gift. Gifts can be
withdrawn either monthly or quarterly, on either the 1st or
15th of the month.
Gifts of Grain The Foundation can accept gifts of grain. When making such a
gift you will receive a tax deduction, or if you don’t itemize, it
will reduce the income you have to pay taxes on. For more
information about making a gift of grain, please contact the
Foundation.
Memorial and Honorary Gifts A memorial or honorary gift is a thoughtful way to recognize a
brother’s life and accomplishments. Any amount can be
directed toward this type of recognition. Memorial gifts are
acknowledged to the family while honorary gifts are
acknowledged to the individual.
Stock Gifts Stocks can be transferred electronically from your brokerage
account or can be sent through the mail if held in certificate
form.
Matching Gifts Your employer may have a
matching gift program that
can multiply your support.
Please ask your personnel
office for the necessary
forms.
Endowment & Named Funds Permanently endowed
funds may be established
and named in accordance
with a donor’s wishes
through gifts of $10,000 or
more. Endowments may
also be created with smaller
gifts that the donor pledges
to increase, over five years,
to the $10,000 level. Endowment funds provide a constant source
of income for the Foundation and are spent with careful
consideration of the donor’s intentions. Choosing to endow and
name a Fraternity program or scholarship is a terrific way to
Permanently establish and recognize your legacy in FarmHouse.
Planned Gifts Long‐range estate and financial planning can enable you to
make a substantial contribution to a program or project of your
choice in a manner consistent with your overall charitable and
personal commitments. Some examples of planned gifts include
bequests, insurance policies, charitable remainder trusts and
charitable gift annuities. The Foundation recognizes alumni who
have made such gifts as members of the FarmHouse Futures
Fund and now as part of the “100 Legacies In The Making.”
Restricted Gifts Some alumni choose to restrict their gifts to specific programs,
scholarships, a foundation council or building fund. For
example, one alumnus may ask that his gift be used solely for
scholarships while another alumnus may direct his gift to the
Leadership Institute. Both of these gifts are acceptable and
welcomed. The Foundation does retain the right, however, to
decline any gift that does not meet the approved purposes of
the Foundation or would be overly restrictive.
