TEAM NOTES
PLAYOFF PERFORMERAmongst active NHL players, Patrick Marleau ranks third in playoff goals scored (52).Only Philadelphias
Jaromir Jagr (78) and Detroits Nicklas Lidstrom (54) have more playoff goals than Marleau. Only Jagrs 15 playoff game-winninggoals are more than Patricks 13.
ROUNDERSSince Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson took over prior to the 2003-04 season, only the
Detroit Red Wings 18 playoff series surpass the Sharks total of 16.San Jose and Detroit are the only two teams in the League to have
made the Stanley Cup Playoffs in each of the last eight seasons.Incidentally, they are also the only two NHL clubs to have won 40+
games in each regular season in those eight seasons.
THE OVER-30 CLUBFor the first time in franchise history, the Sharks featured three 30-goal scorers.Logan Couture (31), Joe
Pavelski (31) and Patrick Marleau (30) all reached the mark.It marked the sixth time in Marleaus career in which hes reached the
30-goal mark, including four years consecutively.It marks the second consecutive year for Couture, while Pavelski set a career high in
reaching 30+ goals for the first time in his career.
STAY OUT OF THE BOXThe Sharks set a franchise record for fewest penalty minutes in a season.With only 785 penalty minuteson the season, the Sharks bested their previous season low of 840 which came in the 48-game season of 1994-95.The team only
needed to kill 225 penalties on the season, which were the fewest in the NHL.
AT FULL POWERIn the four seasons since Todd McLellans staff has taken over, the Sharks power play has never finished the
season lower than fourth in the League.For the second consecutive season, the Sharks finished second in the League in power play
percentage (21.1%).Below is a look at all four seasons:
2011-12 21.1% (2nd
)
2010-11 23.5% (2nd
)
2009-10 21.0% (4th
)
2008-09 24.2% (3rd

McLELLANS STAFF A SUCCESSSince taking over the Sharks bench for the 2008-09 season, Todd McLellan and his staff have
assembled the best points percentage in the League along with Vancouver.Currently on the staff, Matt Shaw has served as an
assistant coach since 2009-10, Jay Woodcroft has been an assistant coach the entire tenure and Brett Heimlich has served as the
teams coaching staff assistant.Current Syracuse Crunch (AHL) associate coach Trent Yawney was on the staff from 2008-11 and
