We are gearing up for a big finish to what has been a great year at the chamber. Incrediblythere are only eight weeks left on the business calendar for 2012. With some major holidayactivity packed in between, before you know it we will be flipping over the calendar for a nyear.
Before we get there though, theres plenty going on around town and at your chamber. Wehave our Turkey Trot Tune Up 5k coming up on November 18 th, so you can shed enough
pounds to justify that feast youll be eating later in the week! Im looking forward to runnithis inaugural race, as are the many people who have already signed up to participate. TheWyndham is hosting their Toy Box and Warm Hands & Hearts Box on November 26 th, wh
is a wonderful charity event. You can contact the chamber office to find out more, as contributions are alwayswelcome.
The board is preparing for year end as well, and as I mentioned we couldnt be more pleased with how things gone this year. Thanks to hard work put in by Tom, Jill, Amy, and our countless volunteers we have managedhave a tremendous year of programming and events. We are eager to build upon these successes with some invative ideas to better your membership experience as we look to the future. One of the major items that I had las a goal of mine at the start of the year was to develop and launch a new website. Im pleased to say that by th
time the December newsletter hits your inbox, the new chamber site should be up and running. I invite you allvisit and browse it once it is up and running and Im sure that you will be pleased to see the significant improvments made. It is imperative for our chamber and our members to have a dynamic internet presence and our nesite will certainly allow us that capability.
In conjunction with this launch, I also invite you to follow us on Facebook!! We recently had a business afterhours at St. Joan of Arc, and much to my delight a few of the attendees said they heard about the event on Fac
book! So after youre done reading the newsletter, launch your Facebook account, search Lisle Chamber anLike our page. Between this and the new website, you will have the best opportunity you have ever had to sconnected and up to speed with events, news, and opportunities brought to you by the Lisle chamber.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving!

Ambassador SPOTLIGHTKevin McCarthy
After realizing how much networking and building relationships compiles a
large portion of his business, Kevin McCarthy, joined the Lisle Area Chamber
of Commerce in April. Kevin wanted to get more involved and decided becom-
ing an Ambassador would be a great way to help promote the Chamber as well
as meet other new members. He also makes a strong effort to attend the Lisle
Executive Networking Group (LENG). Kevin enjoys being an ambassador be-
cause it gives him the opportunity to meet many new people, promote the
Chamber, and educates him on what can help bring to his business.
Kevin is a Sales Agent at Liberty Mutual Insurance where he specializes in auto, home, and life insurance. He pri-
marily works with individuals to make sure that they understand what their coverages include, what they are paying
for, and assists with finding areas of improvement as well as saving drivers and homeowners money on their insur-
ance. Kevin began his sales career in 2002, working within the home remodeling industry. After many years of wor
ng within the industry, and the downturn due to the economy, he decided in February to change fields and apply his
kills towards a different product and service.
Kevin has lived in the Lisle and Downers Grove areas for most of his life, and recently moved to Bensenville. Most
of his family still lives locally in the area and he makes frequent visits to the area to socialize with his friends and
family. Kevin leaves us with his favorite quote, If you can dream it, then you can achieve it. You will get all you
want in life if you help enough other people get what they want Zig Ziglar.
